I thought it might replace the mouse for gaming, for example. But if not, then this piece of hardware is useless. Trackball is still steers.

  • can you do pinch to zoom??

  • Im having some troubles intalling, will you please help me? Im with XP SP2, I alredy installed the driver and paired the apple trackpad, but nothing works.....Perhaps is my bluettoth defective? Am I not pairing it right?

  • my acer pc has synaptics touch pad which can do more than that!!!

  • Does multitouch work

  • On a mac you will scroll the window your cursor is over, even if it is not the highlighted or active window, does this also apply on the mac trackpad on windows? or do i have to click on the window to make it active THEN scroll when on windows.

    Can i zoom by pinching?

Also is there TAP to click as opposed to a slight click of the screen? Feedback is greatly appreciated

  • cant find those software

  • im using a lenovo s10-3 can it work with my laptop

  • Re: " As of 1/4/12 the drivers to download for the trackpad for windows 7 64 bit are part of this apple software download:

"Boot Camp Software Update 3.2 for Windows 64 bit""

Do we have to download the entire 121MB Boot Camp Update?

  • Hey i tried what u showed in the video but my scrooling doesnt work at all any idea on how to get it to work???

  • What screen recorder are you using????

  • Does the pinch-zooming work?

  • would the other functions work if you use safari or itunes?

  • What if you do the magic trackpad usb mod? Will it work without a bluetooth pc?

  • :)

  • Thanks

  • Or winrar

  • The is great. I just did this with BC3.2 on a native Windows 7 64-bit machine and it worked. At first I tried using WinZip and WinRAR but they do not expose the folders that are shwon in thsi video. When I did it "my way" (bad idea) - the track pad was usable but had no right-click functionality. With BC 3.2 I went into folder "BootCamp3200mToBootCamp3250" and it worked perfectly. Installing from here updated my previous install and all works perfect now.

  • It Makes Sense: Can u go appple magic Mouse on PC

  • This is stupid. Google Binary.AppleWirelessTrackpad_Bin and you are bound to find several uploads. doesnt get easier than that..

  • i don't find the download file...

if i search there for 'magic trackpad' there is only a update available for mac :s

    not anymore for windows?

    help anybody?

  • @bramvercaigne - As of 1/4/12 the drivers to download for the trackpad for windows 7 64 bit are part of this apple software download:

"Boot Camp Software Update 3.2 for Windows 64 bit"

The folder to open to search for "Binary.AppleWirelessTrackpad_Bin" is

    BootCamp_3.2_64-bit\BootCampUpdate64\BootCamp3200aToBootCamp3200

    (No hash mark)

It looks like the the same file is in multiple folders, but the file has identical content in all the folders. So there is only one version of the driver.

  • thank you so much mate :) i bought a bluetooth adapter which has ERD 2.1 and as soon as i get it im installing it on my pc thank you again really helpful

  • hi will it work on my windows 7 hp i7 laptop which has bluetooth and if i install MAC OS X LION will i be able to use the multi tasking gestures that are on lion

  • It sounds like the voice is a computer (where you type what you want for it to say in) What program is it? I can actually understand it...

    Im more interested in that

  • @jerrychf It's because OS X has the rest of the gestures, but not Windows.

  • really nice, but What? Microsoft they just only having 2 finger LOL

  • Get a Microsoft touch mouse.. it does multi touch gestures and works pretty well.

  • anyone figured out yet how to get the " forward and back" page swipe option to work using apple trackpad in win 7 yet? or perhaps any other " guesture" features? thanks in advance.

  • go tutorial

  • Is there a way for the magic mouse to work with a pc?

  • !!read this. No use. it's out dated. BootCamp works to windows now. Jsut install it as normal

  • @DetroitBORG,

I've installed the apple trackpad and keyboard on my windows7 os for a home theater computer. The trackpad works perfectly but after a while the trackpad starts acting up to the point where I can hardly use it. The only solution I've found is to unplug the bluetooth receiver. I've returned one receiver for a different model and exchanged the trackpad just to make sure it wasn't a hardware issue. Have you experienced a problem like this before? Any suggestions would be great.

  • can't you simply install bootcamp, install the driver and uninstall bootcamp? would be easier i think...

  • Can this zoom or scroll a page from side to side?

  • @ab252677 not all pc's have touchscreens you know and most don't have mutitouch.and he is doing a tutorial on how to use it on an windows pc so that doesn't mean he is going to use it on a windows pc himself.

  • Oh that was to the point! thanks!

  • What kind of Bluetooth adapter does it have to be? Or any will work?

  • @warhawk0426 Any Bluetooth adapter that supports EDR 2.1

  • @DetroitBORG How do you know if your bluetooth adapter supports EDR 2.1

  • I've been trying to get my Magic Trackpad to work with Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 for 4 freaking hours. It works OOTB without any Apple drivers (just left click, no extra stuff). After installing the drivers, right-click/2-finger scrolling doesn't work, so I went in and tried to manually give "Bluetooth HID Device" the "Apple Inc. Apple Wireless Trackpad (04/12/2010 3.1.0.5)" driver, but it just sits at "Installing driver software...".

  • works on Win XP??

  • so...apple's magic trackpad works with windows.Does the apple magic mouse work too???

  • thank you for this, it answered all my questions about this

    thanks!

  • your desktop definetely needs blutooth though? If it doesn't have it, it won't work right?

  • @falcon9gxgc Correct

  • I love my netbook multi-touch trackpad and my laptops and my Android Tablets now my Windows PC does not miss out! (Lets have a play around with getting this to go on Linux!)

  • Thank a lot. When you use it do you feel any delay on the mouse pointer due to being bluetooth? Is it possible to plug it in via USB?

  • @jhonny1316 No, there is not perceptable lag when using bluetooth, you might notice it if you're playing a FPS shooter game and response time is absolutely critical.

  • @DetroitBORG Thanks a lot, couldn't install it though. They changed the drivers :/

  • can this work with the keyboard?

  • @NeonMoron No, there is a different hack for that.

  • @DetroitBORG can you give a link to the apple keyboard hack ? I paired the keyboard to Win7 as a normal bluetooth device and it auto disconnect and reconnect every 30 mins and it annoy the heck out of me while writing essay, thanks

  • @xave02 well it looks nice... but it doesn't go with his computer. And im sure there is not much windows stuff that it will go with

  • @xave02 Well, tehcnically Microsoft doesn't make much hardware, afterall you can install Windows on a Mac and use the hardwhare there (which is why this hack is possible). I don't think there is much incentive to use the Trackpad here however, you loose its primary benefits on the Mac platform, such as multi-touch gesturing.

  • Thank you! Everyone else just talks about installing the driver, but skips the set up in windows.

  • cheers amazing but dunno wether my pc has bluetooth

  • @yonker700 go to Control Panel and check there if not then get a bluetooth adapter it's like $10 :P

  • dude what kind of bluetooth software u use what version update and reply soon

i got it installed but no 2 finger action (vista)

at lest can i make it work for 2 finger scroll and 2 finger right click

show how to install wireless keyboard will it work on windows startup login time to enter password

  • my windows will not connect to trackpad just says connecting to device for ages

  • How about an update for the new bootcamp file, I cant find the 1.0 file and after 2hrs of screwing around I'm ready to give up.

  • how about an update for the new bootcamp file, I cant find the 1.0 update 64 bit file.

  • Can we use 3 and 4 fingers multitouch on windows?

  • Do you have to have a bluetooth capable laptop?

  • @Mrfredman11 Yes, its using bluetooth.

  • Do you have to have a bluetooth capable laptop

  • ive done all the steps and installed apple wireless trackpad drivers. however when trying to add device windows keeps searcing but doesnt find the trackpad. any thoughts?

  • @SneaKBaRiZa Try powering the Trackpad on or off, and make sure it's not connected to another bluetooth computer while you're doing this.

  • good instructional video for magic trackpad but i'm having trouble. after extracting the "BootCampUpdate32.msp", no folder "BootCamp3135" is available but "BootCamp31ToBootCamp303" instead and no "Binary.AppleWirelessTrackpad_Bin" file available in it. i have done it twice but the same result. am i downloading the wrong Boot Camp Installer? please do advice. thank you.

  • @mnguevarra you downloaded (just like me) version 3.2 instead of 1.0, 1.0 isn't available anymore, but 3.2 works fine to, just type in search (after you did the 2 extractions) "Binary.AppleWirelessTrackpad_Bin" and it schoud popup abaut three according to your version (either 32 or 64) times, either of those is fine, just install one of those (after you added ".exe" to the filename) and it should work.(i hope :) )

  • This is a fantstic video. thanks for sharing, it only this that this can be flawless is for the trackpad to work with my iphone without jailbreaking my device.

  • @tantrick You can actually turn your iPhone into a trackpad for your Windows machine with some apps ;).

  • Multi-touch?

  • @ipod3gtoucher if you mean the trackpad, it is a bit silly question considering it is apple :) i think it can support 4 fingers

  • @MrHejtmar dude...i'm not stupid...i'm talking about when it's on windows like P-I-N-C-H T-O Z-O-O-M . .

  • @ipod3gtoucher well ok, sorry but I know people who would ask....In my oppinion it should work, I think if you make it working, maybe it could be possible to download normal touchpad driver like synaptics touchpad driver, and if it recognize it as touchpad, there should't be problem. I think

  • @MrHejtmar ok...

  • @ipod3gtoucher Mult-touch, meaning the ability for the software to recognize and resolve more than one point of contact on a touch surface, such as pinch to zoom on an iPhone.

  • @DetroitBORG I know ... . .

  • Great video, clear instructions - I appreciate it! I followed your instructions down to the second, and as you were describing in the video my computer was actually installing the driver - thanks!

  • @FamiliaPeixoto Excellent, I'm very glad to hear that.

  • It works, but you must unistall the Toshiba Bluetooth software and install only the driver.

  • does it work on windows xp?

  • 0:14 ...you're Mike the AT&T Natural Voice guy aren't you.

  • @TerryMasters247 I actually don't know who that is.

  • please help me:

im pretty much a pc geek and i tried all i know, i cant get the trackpad to CLICK (left or right..)

it pairs up perfectly, mouse can be moved, but clicking is not possible! how can this be?

what BT software do you use?

i use tosibha bluetooth stack and windows 7 74bit.

also testest on XP with original BT stack, also the same.. no clicking!

    WHAT COULD THIS BE >???

  • @TIJSNL I am aving exactly the same pribem man, got the latest osx bootcamp and no joy, tried extractor 7 zip , no luck! juts a free rolloing cursor with no click, I am using win 7 32 bit

  • @saya2001 I got it to work!

    Like this: (XP)

Disconnect BT stick, do the whole 7zip thing, restart pc, connect BT dongle, let it search, code 0000, and it worked!! I think you MuST install apple drivers BEFORE your first time connecting it!

Let me know if it worked for ya!

  • @TIJSNL You got it, the drivers must be installed first.

  • @TIJSNL "windows 7 74bit" lol

  • @TIJSNL Same prob. Win 7 is using his own drivers.... why?

  • do you have to have bluetooth on the pc?

  • @txprodigy95 Yes!

  • The scrolling looks terrible !

Apple insists on crippling the drivers for bootcamp.

  • does the 3 finger swipe not work on safari for pc either?

  • @The120DaysofSodom No, apparently not.

  • @DetroitBORG what about the photo zoom in/out and rotation, does that work?

  • @The120DaysofSodom No, you can use the two finger scroll however to zoom.

  • Can you connect the apple wireless keyboard the same way? by extracting them and then add .exe to a file?

  • @JosteinCHILL To be honest, I haven't looked into pairing the Apple Wireless keyboard with a PC so I'm not sure if it's the same process.

  • Thanks for the review. Does the zoom in zoom out function works on windows.

    Thanks.

  • @rockme No, that's a software feature that isn't compatible with Windows.

  • Is there any software that I can download to adjust sensitivity?

  • @JosteinCHILL You can use the Windows mouse settings. Windows essentially things it's a mouse so you can modify it as such.

  • how is the trouch responsiveness of track pad on windows? is there any issues there?

  • @anandmu36 There is no discernible difference, and no issues that I ran into.

  • @anandmu36 No, works very smooth. NO hickups!:D

  • i need bluetooth on my computer to connect it right?

  • @networksurfer5000 Yes, it only works via bluetooth.

  • @networksurfer5000 you could get a bluetooth adaptor pretty cheap couple dollers on ebay

  • could u still use the other mouse while the track pad is connect... its silly asking cause u don't need two mouse device but am just curious...

  • @12345Ricardo12345 Yes, you can use many Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

  • So would it be like the smooth scrolling kind like macs?

  • @MrVGamez It's like the MacBooks, yes...is that what you're asking?

  • works it with xp?

    Thx

  • @pepijnstoffel Yes!

  • Thank you very much!

  • dude, i like ur PC more than a 27" Mac

  • @abs2fast2furios I definitely prefer the iMac, but the Vaio is a great PC desktop (if it wasn't so loud).

  • I've got a question: If you're running Windows on a MacBook, will you be able to use the built-in mousepad, while running Windows, and get the Three Finger Swipe, or will it work the same way as you demonstrated the Magic Trackpad to work on a stationary PC, in this video?

  • fake and gay

  • @disbuylshite Why would I fake this?

  • @disbuylshite troll

  • Blue yeti mic ! Yeah man, love the sound ! Nice video, though you couldn't use trackpad with windows !

  • @padddooo Yep, made good use of the yeti, but I really need a pop screen so you can't hear me breathing on the mic.

  • thank you :D

  • For $50 you can buy the bamboo touch, which is almost like a magic trackpad except it's not wireless.

  • Hi, is there something like this but cheaper? I mean, I like that trackpad, but it's quite expensive, I like the size and all the stuff don't give a damn on the three fingers function actually.

  • @archebeats I use to have a trackpad built into a keyboard WAAAAYYY back in the mid-late 90s, around the time trackpads were just showing up on laptops. However, most have since disappeared and I don't really know of one now beyond the Bamboo Pen Tablet for Win and Mac. I did find one on Amazon made by Adesso, which is very cheap at $25, but it's also very small and pretty crummy.

  • @skrbicdu My pleasure, thanks for subbing!

  • Cool!

To bad I don't have Bluetooth on my computer.

    :(

    -Matrixslide

  • what about the pinch to zoom??? does it work on a pc???

  • @elcianka Nope!

  • does this work in xp too?

  • @DetroitBORG YAY that means good news to me!

  • Great tutorial!

  • let me get this right can this work on a pc or not!

  • @budgetgamer1968 Yes, but many of the multi-touch features on a Mac are not avaialble in Windows.

  • Great tutorial buddy :)

  • You should do this for the keyboard too!

  • @GreatUnboxer You mean the Apple keyboard...good suggestion. I'll see if somebody has already done a good job with that.

  • Great review as always.

  • Hey great video, I wanted to know if this was possible and now I know that it is! Thanks. I also have a video on the release of the trackpad on my channel, check it out if you want!

  • first video using it on a pc on youtube...(tht i kno of)...EXCELLENT !

  • @shortcarlos123 I think this is the first video on it as well, but there have been blogs about it.

  • Thaks!

  • that's helpful, thanks!

  • vuze ftw!

  • @macevilmonkey LOL!

  • does it work with xp.?

  • @KRVZEDL0Cz Yes!

  • Very nice step by step walkthrough.

  • I had forgotten you had a Window's PC, do you have it for videos like this or do you use Window's for other reasons as well?

  • @detroitBORG are u rich how do u manage to get all this stuff????

  • Your vids are awesome.

  • Hell I could never go back to windows, yore ids are awesome though.

  • I think Ill pick one up!! My mouse for my PC sucks! Anyways, I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch multiouch tech in the Magic Trackpad. I enjoyed it, so I think Ill buy one. Which one should I get? Well the Magic Mouse work on a PC?

  • I actually kind of want a Magic trackpad for my PC now...

  • @TheDeantrix It's fun, but limited on a PC, not sure it would be worh the cost.

  • Thanks for the video! super helpful. May decide to use this on my laptop, but I'm thinking about getting a logitech mx revolution. which do you think I should get? thanks!

  • @joseisamacgeek I love the Logitech Revolution, I assume your laptop is a PC? I would stick with the Revolution, you can get more out of it on a PC than the Magic Trackpad.

  • cool and nice review.!!

    thanx.!

    and first ahahaha
