  • Love this vid! Shared on Facebook. Thanks for all you do, Animal Place!

  • @tamalynk1 -- by teaching "great respect and empathy for animals," do you mean that the owner would bring the children to the places he sends the animals after they're too big for his zoo, including the slaughterhouse?

  • @BoxerBlessings1 LOL. Wow. You sound miffed. Um, no. I don't like zoos, circuses, slaughterhouses, or most petting zoos. But, I am seeing (and hearing reports of) some new rescue farms/zoos/habitats that are doing wonderful work. They allow safety and relative freedom for the animals and they do their best to educate the public. And I think we need some serious education.

  • Actually, depending on who owns the petting zoo and how it's run, it can be a great way to teach children great respect and empathy for animals.

  • @tamalynk1 Confining and exploiting animals for human amusement is not respect.

  • Respect for animals is the highest form of ethics. For the animals, the environment and our health please go VEGAN. Love the pigs and goat and Aretha singing RESPECT.

  • And don't go to petting zoos!!
