  • I just walked down this and had no clue it existed .... Saw the lovely B-17 Memorial ... had no clue that was there either.

  • This is great! Can you tell me how you can get to this road on foot? I would love to hike up there. Thanks!

  • Hello,

The gate is open for walk in-s only, this is due to the fact the road is now recognized as a rail trail, it is also used to access the B-17 Memorial. No vehicles are allowed except for radio transmitter personnel, You have to ask for permission.

  • Um. Are you confusing Mt. Holyoke (sometimes called Skinner Mountain) with Mt. Tom?

  • Hello,

Mt.Tom is on the Mount Tom Range in Holyoke that runs north south in Holyoke and Easthampton Mt. Holyoke is on the Holyoke range which runs east to west and is in Hadley, Amherst and Belchertown, This video was taken on the former trolley road that is now owned by a company that owns WGGB television, this road leads up to the summit of Mt. Tom.

The summit house that you might be referring to is located on Mt. Holyoke in the Skinner State Park in Hadley.

    Leonard

  • How did you gain access? Isn't it gated? I know it used to be.

  • Nice job, just on finding & documenting the existence of this place alone. Documenting rail history is a valiant effort.
