  • This video is so thoughtful, powerful and insightful of you to do...Be well.

  • this is a good video

  • there are some youtube videos that have special button on them (buttons like full screen, pause, etc.) that puts all words in video to subtitles. only videos ive seen like this tho are my computer teacher's videos like this one

    youtube(dot)com/watch?v=TQzYjny63Iw

  • cool video!

  • They added a new subtitle feature, is that similar to what you wanted?

  • yea yo datz wats up

  • very innovative, nice

  • weird thing is, the ratio of hearing impaired to people who can hear is about 1000000000:1

so that 1 person doesnt really matter for youtube. stop trying to get views. lmao gee gee :D

  • awesome background music. whats the name of the song?

  • jesus christ your rough. lmfao

  • True! You should've waved at the end like magabon So when you turn off the annotations.... Um never mind. It's morning. Lol.

  • Great message and video, MBD. Keep it up!

  • Thank you Man. Your words hit me where I needed hit. I will make an effort from now on to subtitle my vids. I will go back and do the same to my old ones when time allowes. The world needs MeanBlackDude. Thanks.

  • That's a great video .5 stars . I hope YouTube will make the Video section you requested.

  • Very, very thoughtful man.

It would really help a lot if Youtube put some kind of hearing-impaired feature.

I'm just curious on how they would do it. :S

Closed-captions is the only hearing-impaired thing I can think of...and no one uses it, as you said. :(

If I think of any way for Youtube to make a hearing-impaired feature, I'll e-mail them my suggestions ASAP.

    Very nice, man.

    Respect. :)

  • Personally, I think you should make yourself out to be the stereotype that your channel's name depicts.

  • Me Too!!!

  • wow no words to describe this vid.....AMIZIN

  • WELL DONE!!!

  • Excellent!! I really hope you succeed!!

It was the first video of yours I watched and I'm really blown away. Awesome!!

  • found video thru ishatonu lol

  • WOW.

    IMPRESSED.

  • I'm confused, what would "Hearing-Impaired" do exactly?

  • amazing

  • i ment to rate 5 stars bout my mouse slipped. this vid really is the truth.

  • No problem 2Wet!

  • dang, that was freaking awesome man, i'm inspired.

  • Thanks man. I try!

  • That was... wow. Very inspiring.

  • How can I get a moment of your time? Also, sorry for watching this so late. :)

  • great video!

  • Thanks!

  • WOW. That would be awesome, if you could get her into that, man. Seriously. We have a blind child in this family and we're trying to get him to be a bit more outgoing. As of the moment he's happy holding hands and sticking with familiar voices.

  • WHAT THE SHIT DID YOU JUST SAY?

  • MBD, I think he said he was going to look in his mom's pantyhose for the part that was supposed to be his brain. Not sure, though.

  • Grow up gee

  • Wonderful video! Get with it Youtube!

  • It would be awesome, wouldn't it?

  • nice vid

  • Thanks man!

  • no problem homie =D

  • this was VERY nice of u...it puts a smile on my brothers face...funny how i found the video thou

  • How did you find this video?

  • Wow...I am not hearing impaired, but I appreciate this video so much. It made me think of what I would do if I was deaf.

I know it is no where near the same but one of my all time favorite youtube persons does blogtv sometimes but my campus internet doesnt allow me to hear him - I can only see what he is doing and try my best to try to read his lips. Its is really frustrating to me.

I liked this and have found myself a new subscription. ^_^ Thank you.

  • Why, welcome to the inner circle.

    Thank you.

  • Wow man! What a great video! What a huuuge meaning man!

YouTube! Please think about his words and open some doors for these people!

    blessings and peace!

    Martin

  • Thanks Martin!

  • Thanks Capt!

  • My wife and I have had a number of deaf friends over the years, and I have been an interpreter for the deaf at work in years past...........so having said that.........I approve of this message!! Very creative, and very thoughtful.

(by the way, you can learn sign language in a lot of locations.....if you want to communicate better with your friend, learn it, and then surprise them).

  • I approve of this comment!

(BTW...wouldn't it be easier....on the WORLD....if the hearing impaired had a tab....wouldn't that...better the WORLD...seeing as YouTube..its the # 3 used website in the world?)

  • Awesome! I hope youtube hears your plea and does something!

  • Wouldn't it be awesome if they did!?!

  • Great point! I work at a job where we had to have inclusion training so that kids with disabilities could participate..this is such a great example of inclusion. I will have a talk with my daughters and we will start using the speech boxes for the hearing impaired...Great video!

  • Make a video about it. It's almost the ONLY way YouTube will hear us!

    I can't do it alone.

  • oh almost forgot, keep up the great work ;)

  • Will do!!!

  • i think you have a great idea. ive only gotten to watch a few of your videos so far, and i have to be honest i dont usually care much for people talking into cameras on youtube(more a music/tv/movie type of watcher) ... but you are by far the most respectable person ive seen. you tell it how you see it and you dont hide from what you are thinking. i hate to say 'keeping it real' , but thats you.. no doubt.

  • i REALLY appreciate this comment.

  • Has anyone mentioned Elaina43 in the comments here yet? She doesn't teach ASL, but she is learning and does a great deal of signing in her vlogs.

I didn't even know about the close caption thing until now. So either I'm just oblivious or YT hasn't made it as widely known that we could do that.

  • I have heard of her....but I haven't seen her...YET.

Nor has she been mentioned. I'll have to check her out.

  • Cool...

  • Indeed!

  • Hey... this would be so cool... I sure hope they consider it... You Rock~

  • Wouldn't that be awesome?

  • We must either find a way or make one.

    --Anthony Robbins

    Very Thoughtful Video MBD

  • Thanks Anthony

  • You are amazing!

I am an elementary teacher who constantly has to up my game in order to reach every student. I thank you for standing up for our friends who are deaf. I love what you do!

  • Thanks Stephin! As a teacher you don't get nearly enough recognition as I think you should receive and not nearly enough salary!

  • This was such a considerate and kind video. I am a Special Education teacher so I often notice how individuals with disabilities or differences can have trouble throughout their day. Youtube was definitely one of the places. Great vid, I'm sure these individuals are happy you acknowledged them!

  • Someone needs to say something. It's ppl like you that make them the blessed ones. There's no substitute for genuine compassion.

  • This Touced Me In Many Many Many ways

    WOW

Who We Often Take for Granted the Gift to Speak, See Feel, Love & Hear----WOW

GOD is Good All the Time & All the time

    GOD is GOOD

  • Oh, I've been here. Just not been commenting I guess. Sorry 'bout that - I shall be commenting from here on in. As someone who is always supporting the YT Community, you deserve it.

    Cheers!

    Awesome name, btw.

  • MBD.. You're sooo the man baby. Big hugs to you babe!

  • I'm trying, sweety.

  • Respect Man.

  • Respect to you, man.

...you are a man, aren't you?

  • lmfao. yes. check out the page, it's your old buddy from stickam

  • aren't adds posted on videos because of copyright claims? does someone like own your image?

  • No....I'm a partner.

Hence the banner and autoplay on my page.

  • I don't know when or whether there's an awareness day, week or month for the hearing impaired, but maybe people could do videos like the one you just did to commemorate it. Then again (this is evil, I know) someone could just play hours of Jonas Brothers music until only the deaf are left standing.

  • I know there's a awareness day or something, not sure when, though.

You could make a video about it.

  • I just looked up something signed in 1984 by Ronald Reagan, called Proclamation 5177:

"Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim the week beginning April 8, 1984, as National Hearing Impaired Awareness Week."

    April 8th isn't far from now. :)

  • Got something in mind?

  • IDK, maybe a collab with no sound and just words? I'm not one of the big names here, but I'm sure you could get a few together for a project like that.

  • Possible...I'm vlogging every day this week. Working on a vid now.

  • damn never thought about that. nice video and good idea mbd! hope youtube backs you up

  • You have our support on this one fore sure. Happy Birthday WAY LATE :-( I didnt know when it was until the other day and with all going on with my eyes and vision I am lucky to keep my head attached. HUGS and thank you for being you xoxoxox

  • Actually this whole video has made me want to make another channel purely for the deaf, with videos from me like what you made.

  • you sir, are the fucking man.

    I support this 100%

  • seriously man,,, ur definatly the kinda person i wonna become,, mad props meanblackdude

  • Props to you Cannibal! You don't need to be like me, man. It's cool if you wanna pick up some qualities off me....only the good ones.

  • ahaha dats wut i mean,, like i veiw u as a positive rolemodel,, im sure alot of us do ,,,but i jus thought u should know that :)

  • Thanks Chad! That means alot.

  • FabulousBlackDude.. well you're not mean are you!

    :-)

  • THE DANCING QUEEN!

  • LOL!

Yep and i SWORE i'd NEVER dance on YouTube!

    :-)

  • LoL...well...I haven't

    ...yet, lol

  • great video!!!

  • Thanks fellas!

You guys crack me up. Need to tone down the cursing before an unseen ban comes around.

  • awesome vid. hope your vid reaches and touches the yt staff.

  • Let's hope so. If we can find some chicken vloggers that would be awesome, eh?

Or are you NOT interested if they're not fried in 11 herbs and spices?

  • shoot. i'm interested, but i'ma have to stop by the kfc store before hand. that's my energy food, well kinda. O_o

  • lol You crazy!

  • Everybody makes PC mistakes.

Yours is to refer to the deaf community as "less fortunate".

But many deaf are happy the way they are, proud of their own ("sub"? -"sub" means "under") culture.

There are even some deaf supremacist that think that being deaf is a blessing.

So some may take offense at your approach to them as "less fortunate" people.

Some deaf parents even refuse surgeries that might return hearing to their own children.

  • okok

  • sign language ftw... I regret I never learned it well enough beyond being able to spell my own name.. forgot that too

  • LoL....me too

  • In conclusion to my previous comment. I cant see every uploader wanting/willing to have to write a transcript for each video. Its a paradox which will be hard to solve without discrimination of those at the other end of the spectrum who suffer from hearing-disabilities.

Just my thoughts and oppinion. This is not against the idea (im all for it) just pointing out the difficulties that tend to come with all actions for greater good. Much respect for creating awareness.

  • Hey MBD, i think you have proposed a brilliant idea. Its unfair for the minorities being unable to experience the viewing plesure the rest of the world gets to. But do you think a sub-catagory would be enough?

Surely hearing-impaired people would like to also enjoy the viewing of partners such as yourself who broadcast with full sound not being restricted to a certain catagory of video. Those people unable to lip read, incorporating sub-titles would be next to impossible with speech-recognition

  • Agreed. I'm not sure if speech-recognition would be compatible with everyone's voice, though.

  • Interesting. Yes, I've seen some excellent, angry Vlogs in sign language. Angry sign language is like watching an angry boxing match. Couldn't understand it but I was still ducking.

  • lol....can't say that I've seen that, but I've seen some pretty creative videos that were silent.

  • nice thing u did here but y is ur name mean blaxk dude i gess i fgotta watch ur otha vids

  • You know how to find them.

  • Great vid and idea MBD ! :)

Tell you the truth....im with holyboddy on this. I hadn't really given much thought to the hearing impaired viewers etc...but people should know :)

Everyone give this a high rating etc so we can get it seen and bought to the attention of youtube !

  • Share it if you see fit Space. That'll be appreciated greatly.

  • You are so right, sign language has kinda been forgotten and spanish is taking over the second language. My mom has started teaching her daycare sign language. Which is great until I go to watch the kids and they start signing. So I am learning too. Hahahah the funny part is when my mom told them to be quiet for nap time the started signing to each other. So now she has to tell them hands at rest and lips also. great video as always.

  • lol dam kids!

    Hay BooBoo!!!

  • it actually opend up my eyes, i forgot all about the deaf and hearing impaired on youtube. your right. they are forgotten!

thank you for making this vid MBD

  • NP Boddy! Someone needs to say these things. I'm surprised noone's mentioned it before.

  • that's so nice of you mbd.. big ups 2 u bro..

  • Thanks for the support Buloy!

  • You're a special person MBD. An amazing person and I truely admire you!

Keep doing what you do, and being you.

  • I try Shotta...it's all I can do.

  • I bow to you, your royal dudeliness. This video is awesome (as usual). I hope YouTube is paying attention.

  • Let's hope so beautiful!

  • yeah this is definitely a great idea

  • Thanks Mike!

  • This is a great idea MBD. I hope they listen to you.

  • We can always hope.

  • great job, man. there's alot of critics of youtube, on youtube- sometimes, that is a good thing. but if people that always complain (different that critics) hate the site- they don't have to be here. i don't know of any hearing impaired bloggers, but i think it's a wonderful idea. full support. peace.

  • As always, thanks Coffee!

  • point well taken, so nice to see you, i really felt u coming through on this video, even with out making a sound i heard u, ILYG

  • Thanks. Sometimes you don't have to say a word.

  • Cool Vid MBD! =) SmileyD

  • Luv ya Smiley!

  • I think this would be an excellent idea to include. Everyone should be welcome on Youtube.

  • It'll bring a new dynamic to the Tubes, ya think?

  • I agree with you it would bring something new to Youtube.

  • i'm not sure exaclty, personally I don't know any deaf people so i wouldn't really know exactly what they have to go through on a daily basis.

  • Yeah....I'm sure they find their way very well.

  • well "said" ;)

  • Thanks BugLady!

  • wow amazing idea.... but we need to find someone who know the sign language and ask them, YT itself won't make it....

  • Well...I just felt like, someone had to say it.
