  • Very cool video! I subbed...its the least i can do to show my graditutde!!!!! Also you have a beautiful Shepard sir, my buddy passed away recently from cancer and to see you're Shepard having such a good time brought back fantastic memories!

  • So what helped more on this vid, the kid's videos or the whiskey? Also People Eating Tasty Animals called, they wanted to congratulate you on being capable of getting your own food.

  • I understand that, but we still miss the guns and everything else. It is good to hear your voice again!

  • When are you going to start making new gun video's? We miss them!

  • @arkons1961 That is really the whole point of this video. "Guns" are a very TINY part of prepping. And I never wanted to be a "gun channel".

  • Great channel bro, your the Michael Jordan of preppers!

  • all what we need, can we get from nature!

  • I think I am moving to Minnesota...looks like paradise.

  • @noudo25 It is a very clean wilderness and water filled state with an abundance of natural beauty and a generous honest culture. THe taxes are a little high though and liberal poltics have devasted manufacturing here, but there are alot of HQ corporations here who like to recruit from the midwest harding working culture. The middle of winter can be pretty tough I will admit, come Feb and 30 below. But I do believe the winter keeps out those looking for and easy life.

  • I've watched hours of your channel, it has helped me a lot. I actually am beginning to take a new direction, after I came to the realization that I'm not going to make a huge difference in the political area. Its probably just better for me to focus on my family and our future's well being. Thanks for the videos.

  • @matthewetchie That is what I believe to be the only answer and maybe an impossible one. For each of us to look in the mirror and get to work on personal responsiblity. Many are not going to be able to do that. They will seek and "enemy" to blame their life on, or someone to take from. As much as the GOV. wants to take care of all it's ever growing population of adult children citizens, prepper swill have to find a way to live life without the apron strings and to think outside of the box.

  • I have been waiting upon The Spirit to reply. A Reason, a Season, a Lifetime. You CHOSE to COME to this forum, and now seem to have chosen to walk away?

You have met a need that I had expressed, given guidance and support... you have met my need, you were a Godsend!

I must accept that your work is Done. A shooting Star.

Possibly Reconsider... You where the Best! There are so many in Need! I chose too also fly under the Radar. If nothing else, repost your deleted videos.

    GOD BLESS

  • How about a "Realist".

  • After watching dsarti1 (check sidebar>) I do like his earlier videos/scenarios but its rediculous he goes on about "carrying 2000rds of ammo for his .22lr in his pack" but I doubt that guy could carry 200 in his pack.. Much better yankee!

    Greets from the UK

  • @JackJack762 I never thought of Dsarti as a prepper or competition for that matter. As a prepper he will first have to survive his suicide in the form of his diet/self mutilation. Being "smart" or "intelligent" on youtube only takes a welfare check to buy a camera and a computer for many in the audience. It not to hard to beat that.

  • Yes, definitely post some footage of you working on your suburban. You have the best ideas. I want to buy and fix up a 1988 Chevy Blazer one of these days.

  • Many are hoping for SHTF/WROL as it's their only chance of improving their life. Misery loves company and some plan to be "kings" of the miserable instead of working to maintain quality of life. I only call myself a Realist. As such I can be a selective asshole to those deserving and detach myself from all I choose. If trying to live up to a title or Youtube expectations detracts from your peace, drop it like a pile of melted winch wires and play in the bounty of your reality.

  • @GravityToy That sums up alot of how I feel in general about YOUTUBE. Alot of "fantasy" role players pretending to be what they are not, hoping gleefully and planning for what will never happen. They will never be "captain hero" of the village in a SHTF. Prepping will soon just be another verb for "out of shape, ninja wannabee/nutcase". Much the same as "youtube patriot", "survivalist", "truther", "freeman", etc.

  • Well this is my first posting on a video after being on here for years. There are a few things you say that I do not agree with at all. But there are also plenty of things you say that I think are excellent. I think you bring a clear and realistic view about people and life that is very needed in prepping. And I am glad that your voice of reason is out there for all to hear. Thanks for keeping it real...

  • Access God's palpable permeating presence by trusting in Jesus

  • YP, don't let the twisting of those labels define you. In many ways, for me, you ARE the definition of those labels of patriot and prepper, and those are -good- things. Keep living the good life, doing the healthy, life affirming things you're doing. No carborundum illegitimati. Or however that goes... :)

  • "Yankee, when are you going to post updates of your suburban rebuild? I have been looking forward to that for some time now. I just finished a custom built rear bumper and swing arm tire carrier for my 4Runner due to your initiative shown here.

  • @rosco4u99 I can't tell you how much I appreciate you saying that. That is really what I wanted to do here and that is....sharing skills among my piers. A swing arm tire carrier is a great idea and one I would like to to add to my truck too. I haven't been filming much on the truck. I throught he windshield change in on this vid, just because the floor spatula and recip saw worked so well. I pretty much have rebuilt the whole front ends and brakes. Painting this weekend. Almost done.

  • grait vido thanks

  • hey man another good vid keep your head up were all here for you ! you are the man that really started me prepping and it would be a shame to see you go!

  • Hahahahaha " I've bien setting things on fire ever since I began to walk " hahahahaha thanks man

  • Your a lucky man and you know it ! I'm referring to your Family & Life ( really living ) for those without will never understand . You have help me immensely keeping my hope for mankind alive and well .

  • Sr you have the best YouTube channel good quality videos

  • I havent seen a woodcock in like 20 years - good shooting

  • It's funny how it's the _Dodo Birds_ that were saying "doom on you". It's a good metaphor for those who believe an AK and a bucket of wheat berries will get you through! YP FTW.

  • Patriot, Prepper, Constitutionalist, whatever. How about just good old American, with the spirit and zeal that made this country great. Well, at least until the liberals took over it was great. I wish the South would rise again, join with the North and do SOMETHING to make this country great again. Why can't we all just get along? But if it weren't for asshats, what would we compare good people to? How boring would life be if we were all smart, aware and able to rationalize? Wouldn't that suck?

  • Never a dull moment in the day and life of Yankeeprepper, LOL.

    Hope all is well!

  • Self reliance. We have lost a lot as a nation because many people have NO DESIRE to even try to do things for themselves. Just because you want to do it yourself does not make you selfish. Very inspiring video.

  • @vilissin Yukon m1950 multi fuel stove

  • Just because some dildos call themselves something like Patriot or Prepper doesn't mean they are. Let em say what they want. The idiots are just wanna be's. You're the real thing in the raw with wild and woolly all over you & it's obvious you're not playing at it. Anyone with a brain and some experience can see the difference. Those who can't? Who cares?

Trust me, you don't share those titles with asshats according to anyone who's opinion you should give a damn about. They are in punk world.

  • I can hear some say your a freak, but I see your a perfect prepper . I'm so yealous!

  • This is what love about your channel! Time out with the family (with kids laughing!), time out hunting, fixing your own things! It is the way life is meant to be lived...the good life! Thanks YP you are a light in the midst of the doom and gloomers!

  • I remember when you first came onto Youtube. I really enjoyed your channel and it showed that prepping was more about living life. Not just about guns and Armageddon. Don't let the trolls and the posers ruin a good thing. Peace be with you. Psalm 31

  • Good video man. I enjoyed the Ice Age analogy. God Bless

  • Nice country. If your ever up for some hunting in Manitoba, let me know. Thanks for another great video. Cheers...

  • First I must say THANK YOU, you have helped keep me on the right track. I have always tried to see things in a different light and to learn new skills. You have been an inspiration to the ways of self sufficiency and preparedness. Thanks to your guidance I have been able to help in a family house fire, their need will be ongoing for a long time but with GOD we will get them there. Again THANK YOU and may GOD greatly bless you and your family, I needed guidance and you have delivered.

  • Looks like you have been moping around and not having any fun at all man.. Cheer up bud, get outside, go have some fun man LOL.. JK YP, looks like you are really enjoying life as it should be. thanks for the update and the little tutorials. have a good weekend. Go make some tacticool Ice Cubes :-)

  • wow, are dogs look exact! and her name is yankee! she in one of my vids on my channel, goog vid!

  • Yankee you don't have to be a prepper or a patriot. The way I see it your a great DAD, that is what all this is about anyway, planning for and providing for your families safety. We don't do all this shit for ourselves it's for our families and if that is not enough to motivate someone, I don't know what is. I miss you Bro on here, but I understand. You've inspired a lot of people on here, canning another jar of jelly isn't going to help those sitting around waiting for a video. I GET IT !!

  • Seems to me that You Tube is a window to all of the worlds thirst for knowledge , and what better way to get knowledge than to learn from other people and there trials with life , some people are to hard headed to laugh at there mistakes and blame everyone else for there faults or TROL about the internet , information is power , its nice isnt it to just BLOCK the negative people ,kind of like a privacy fence without a gate .I dont have clips on YOU Tube ,simply so I dont have to BLOCK subs, sad ?

  • Comment removed

  • @soggybuilders I don't have enough space in the comment section to explain how wrong you are. YOUTUBE does not have to be this way, it's not what it's all about for me and real life is certainly not. You create your own culture, that is what the BLOCK button is for, in real life and on Youtube. The reason it seems Youtube is over run with punk asshats is because they are simply allowed to, for the sake of a "sub". Let me assure you, you really can BLOCK them all.

  • I always enjoy your videos. Great Ben Franklyn quote. Thanks for the dose of sanity!

  • GOOD JOB YANKEE TY FOR VIDING I MISS YOU VIDS..DID YOU PUT THE PLACTIC BACK ON THE FROUNT OF THE WINDOW..LOL JJDID MY 1ST FROUNT WINDOW ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO..FUN HU..GOT NO WHAT KIND OF GLUE TO USE BUT AFTER THAT ALLS GOOD!!

  • Haha. Doom on you too... glad to see your still around and posting.

  • nothing wrong with that life, whatever you call it.

  • Many hear the message about being a Patriot or being a Prepper, but unfortuneately all to may get it all wrong. Rather than avoiding the term, continue to be a shining example for the term. I was a "Survivalist" long before they even called it by that name. But that term came to be equated with the IDIOTS who hide in the woods with a machinegun. But all they are, are idiots with a machinegun. They are NOT truly Survivalists nor Preppers any more than a NEO NAZI coule truly be called Patriots.

  • @JagdtygerII I agree with you 100%,,,If the SHTF these people you are referring to the major SHTF would be in their pants!!!

  • Was planning on crossing the North Dakota/Minn. Border this weekend and head to the cabin BUT then i watch this video... Between the ATV cam and kid cam, i got dizzy and ill, then they show there skill in setting vehichles on fire and stealing yer windshields when your away buying jelly. Dem dar Sotan's don't like visitors over much, don't ya go without an invite...LOL.

  • Great vid YP! Always great to see vids with families in them. Nothing beats family time. Beautiful place you got up there. I loved it there when I was on vacation. Rented a cabin at WinJum's Shady Acres in Faribault its was beautiful. Looking to take the family back up there sometime. Really enjoy seeing the process of you rebuilding your truck. Your time and effort on your vids is much apperciated here. Take care and God Bless!

  • great video. a good looking shepard too. that dog is a great companion for a prepper.

  • keeping busy then :) I notice your dog has put on some size. That track of yours must be great for keeping him fit, bet he loves it. Mine is about 16 months so I have been running him for 6 months now, felt like forever until 1 year old lol.

Good vid. Oh is all that your land?

  • I love it man, absolutely love it. Covers what you're prepping for and the reality of what being prepared is all about. A little obscure at first but then really right on the money. Don't stop posting man. You're stuff is a very realistic balance to the, "do I have enough guns and ammo crowd."

  • It is very good to see you back! Great to see you and your family are doing fine. Stay true to your beliefs. A worried Califorian!

  • good video as always. I believe I understand your the reason for your note at the bottom. How about Constitutionalist, Classic Patriot or Original Prepper as a moniker? just a thought.

    Cheers

  • Dang, its good to see your doing alright. You have a good weekend too yankee! Thanks again.

  • Stay strong in your beliefs! This shot is for you!

  • I call this living, and it happens to me all the time lol. Have a good weekend.

  • Good to hear your voice again...

  • It's nice to see a video from you again.Glad to see a person I've learned so much from is doing well. Be safe , and keep your powder dry.Prayers for you and yours always.

    Long LIVE the CONSTITUTION !!!

  • All my life I've had to fix things due to being afraid to trust my stuff to somebody I don't know. My tools are over 35yrs old for the most part and have paid for themselves many times over. My ex told a friend of hers that she really missed the fact that I can fix almost anything. Keeping spares and knowing what to do to not have to use them is key to being able to spend $ on other stuff in order to count on having some quality of life and helping oneself if the SHTF ever comes down. Tanx YP.

  • got to love that heat shrink wrap wire , and doddle has gotten to be a good sized dog good to see you back to posting brother hope the garden was good to you lost 78% of mine when tree fell but no worries going to fruit markets and buying extra . have fun brother chat later

  • great video...it's great to see you continually putting out good info among the crap that floats around youtube...i'm nowhere near you level of preparedness however i have a wide skillset that will help me and mine in times of trouble...love how you give examples of the kinds of things that set the real "preppers" aside from the wannabe's

  • Good video, and nice dog! I have a German that is so stupid that she always barks at any gas engine starting up, she would be biting the tires on that Mule quad thing you were driving.

  • Hi Yankee, You and others like you are doing an amazing service in helping provide the information, the mindset, and the community needed to obtain those skills. Thank you.

  • Blew up two sleds in Macinac MI in one day. One was a 2000 ZR440 snopro that went lean on fuel and burned a hole in the piston. Popped the drive belt, pulled the tow strap out of the boot, tied it to my partner's 2000 Blair Morgan 7c 600 and made to the dealer that had a sponsored Cat racer that just so happened to have a fresh piston available. Fixed. The 7c threw a jug skirt into the crank case...BOOM. Pulled the Thundercat out of storage and we still rode. Prepping works, keeps you sledding

  • Yankee and the girls are getting bigger. Love the family thing.

  • I like the windshield replacement. Your way looks a lot easier. Thanks

  • Good to see you back.......

  • Always look forward to your vid Bill, This own craked me up, Your family first bro. Great wooldnad scenes, I could almost smell the open woods man. I feel the same way about skill sets, some can be perishable, but your mind and skills are your best weapons for survival.

  • What will you do now that you've gone and let all the smoke out of your wheeler? My husband tells me (usually when hes a million miles away) that when I let all the smoke out of the equipment it won't run anymore. :) You are a rock YP, eventually you will get through to all of us. Don't give up on us.. lead on.

  • @Yankeeprepper I would love to convert to a successful home business, but I just don't think that I could generate the same income that I have now.

  • John Deere atv? Didn't some of those come in diesel?

  • @Yankeeprepper I'm working on finding a way to generate income from the house. Owned my business up to the time I was deployed.... that didn't work out so well and the business flopped. Hard to run a business from a combat zone! Since we have been relocated to MN I have been looking for a home based business to generate some income. We should get together some time and sample some whiskey at near by watering hole!

  • great video.......havein wiring issues on my yerf dog.......HELP

  • Great stuff brother!!!!...A prepper is a man thats all.love the vid!!

  • Yankee you are so right, watching movies with the kids AWESOME. I have the best job in the world, SAHD. What could be better. Oh and the whiskey is a staple in my house as well. Thanks for sharing.

  • We'd use those splices in the utility industry, when a pole light wire would get chewed up. Great vid man!

  • Would you mind explaining a little more why you don't want to be referred to as Patriot or Prepper based upon what you've witness on Youtube so far?

  • To some extent of course

  • Doom on you!! Lol I love your vids man....plus I think that the knowledge to repair/fix the stuff you have is a key factor in preparedness. I would feel safe saying that many "preppers" on yt would be sol if any of the stuff they will be depending on breaks. Not only that but I bet alot of them stockpile stuff and have no idea what to do or how to actually use them. In my opinion, having a stockpile is awesome, but being to survive without it is a better skill to have. Thanks again man

  • @bigreeves1188 I believe building skills should be the priority, DIY is the key to prepping. Ben Franklin said: "If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest." No matter what happens in the future, you will always have skills earned with you. And nobody, not even the GOV. can take that away from you.

  • @Yankeeprepper the founders were way ahead of their time intellectually.

  • @Yankeeprepper Unless your empying your purse in 90% of the universities in America. In that case you will only learn what its like to be steeped in communism and have a lifetime of debt.

  • nice job yankee, diy, hunting, atv,s family ! it doesnt get any better ;-)

  • That was replacing the windshield on the suburban? I can't wait to see it when you get it all done. Auto repair is high on my list of things to learn so I am less dependent on other people's services.

  • I was born and raised in Escanaba, MI, in the UP. Seeing the trees from your MN it looks a lot like the UP of MI. Brought back a lot of good memories.

    Thanks

  • Burning ATVs.... you have all the fun....

0:15 nice cult-like chant... easy to remember... rolls off the tongue well....and communicates an important public service message.... I'll be sure to use it when the crazed, half starved, zombies surround the house during our next WROL (won't that be fun).

  • You have a good weekend to Fire Bug...lol Great example of a Prepper's life. Thanks for the video brother...

  • @EastCoastPrepper It's one of those stories I will have to tell you over some whiskey sometime. We are coming into the cabin in pitch dark, late in the evening. I have rifles (7 to 8) stacked and strapped on to the front and back ATV racks and I am pulling a polar trailer filled full of equipment. The ATV light are blinking and sometimes just going out, smoke LOL! I am doing 20 to 30 on the trail the guy on the back is crapping himself and trying to shine his flashlight ahead 4 me.LMAO!!

  • I enjoyed the video.

I remember seeing blue smoke coming from under the hood. I then used "fuse-able" link that I got from a car dealership parts counter. They look similar to 10awg are usually wired in auto wiring harness and rated at 40 amps (I then kept a spare in my emergency kit).

  • Loved the camera work of your little ones. Now I have the Yankey Doodle song in my head. You are blessed.....Paula

  • It’s not really on fire until you’re getting 2nd-3rd degree burns…. :)

  • It's nice to see you enjoying time with your family life is too short , my children are all grown and moved away so I'm envious but happy to see others enjoying life, carry on and keep up the good work your videos are appreciated.

  • thanks for all of the in formation ,great vids,go topos de oros ,or ingringo go golden gophers . truly to you and your god bless god speed....

  • water proof splices aye? hmm. i have to look into those for my next project. they seem more durable than the ones i use.

  • @poormanprepper They really are slick. They shrink wrap around the wire and have a hot glue that seals on the inside of the tube as well. I had to buy 6awg off of EBAY. I could not find them anywhere around here. They are sometimes sold under "marine splices"

  • @Yankeeprepper thank you so much!

  • was that a grouse and a woodcock?

  • @jbr1074 Yes is was. Nice job.

  • @Yankeeprepper HAHA- not me- whoever took the woodcock- I have NEVER hit one of those buggers!

  • @jbr1074 I was just impressed that you knew them right off the bat. I actually got both those birds on one walk with the dog. Those woodcocks are fast little buggers, but I am really fast with a shotgun. Not bragging, just saying I have pulled a shotgun trigger alot. FINGER ON THE TRIGGER BRO!

  • 1:37 nice sniping, our season hasn't started

  • How about 'self reliant' ? That is a good description of the lifestyle...

  • Damn I was going to name my next dog Yankee.

  • Good to see you doing vids again! My wife still thinks you sound like George Clooney! I think she has a crush on him or something! God Bless ya

  • This is so cool. Wonderful backdrop. I wish I had enough land to run and gun! :)

  • @DEMCAD I have stomped around in some pretty thick woods in the UP. There are some beautiful places in Michigan that I would love to go to again.

  • Yup! anything you can drive away from is good, a little salt a little water add some heat from use... over time will take out any wire. Be safe Yankee

  • you want a label yankee? how about this: "non-asshat-ish"

  • the part when you were on the water reminds me of 28 weeks later

  • Yankee, you are who you are - no need for a label. You are your own label. The label "Tea Party member" has been co-opted by external forces to derail that group's mission. Without a label, they individually still hold those same values and can make them known at the ballot box etc, while not providing a labeled target for the opposition to demonize via association with that group's 'bad apples'. Same is true for "patriot", "prepper", etc.

  • Good stuff.

  • You know, my grandparents used to store food, can, garden, raise pigs and chickens, fish, and they were never called preppers. I think they were the smart ones as they always had food on the days they didn't have money. I would say you are just a smart guy. OK, I got to go now and hide in my bunker since todays date plus the current time, plus the last four digits of my social all add up to 9/11. :)

  • @boomd1791 hahaha..i love this boomd....hahahaha

  • I miss living back east.

  • Partriot: (n), the genetic offspring of a partridge and a Patriot :)

  • Have a good one Yankee :-D

  • Looks like you've been having some fun my friend, even with the hot seat, lol. Nothing a few pieces of new wire can't handle. Glad to see you and the ladies doing well. Take care.

  • Gosh! Prepping is just like living a really good, decent and productive life. Whoda thunk? I wonder if being a Patriot is that simple too? Been starting fires since I was old enough to walk? Dang! I nearly fell of my chair!

  • That windshield tool is awesome, sure beats using a piece of wire.

  • Happy Friday!
