  • When they have to make that sharp turn across the tradewinds it can be pretty astonishing. I think Hawaii pilots know wind better than anyone else. I was on a flight into Honolulu once that came in really high, so at the last minute they just aimed the nose to the ground. It was a business-hour flight that was packed and everyone was yapping away....until the dive. The whole plane went dead silent, even the little kid behind me with the nonstop 'Daddy why?' monologue ongoing.

  • Bumpy? This was nothing. I've personally flown in extreme turbulence to where it was almost impossible to retune the radios. Had to place my had on the instrument panel and walk my fingers over to the knobs. Bumpy landing....not hardly. When you go to flare, and the wind has the plane push left 20 feet, and right 20 feet before all of the plane's weight in on the wheels, THAT is a bumpy landing.

  • Wow that was really windy. Was it a rainy day when u got on this flight?

  • nope, it was actually a perfect day. it actually rains everyday in hawaii, but there weren't any storms or anything. hope you enjoyed the video!

  • Where is this from? Lihue?

  • Nope, it was actually from Kona.
