  • is just fuckin common blues riff ! no copies.. W Lenny and Satch

  • Comment removed

  • No. And I'm sick of the accusations. Close is not a copy. Slight variations in melodies you like in order to create your own is common.

  • even same key

  • what the fuck?!?Of course he's copying Satriani! And of course he's copying Clapton,Page,Beck everyone plays only through Pentatonic Minor Scale (and Dorian Mode Scale,in the case of Satriani)!

If you can play guitar, you know what I'm talking about.

YOU GOT TO COPY FROM THIS TITANS

  • no, everyone is copying Hendrix and George Harrison.

  • I don't understand,what happening there.....

Lenny dont't copy anyone,he is just himself. He is great and lovely maaan

  • no one listens to either of these guys so i bet neither copied.

  • @dsleeperhold guess what if u listened to satch u would die

  • i do listen to satch. But your comments not funny. mine was. And its four months old. so let it go.

  • @dsleeperhold i love joe satriani, i have 57 songs by him, not including the stuff he did in chickenfoot

  • just the patterns are similar, in armonic form, but there`s no copy.

  • They're slightly similar. I'm a huge Satch fan. But as far as I'm concerned Lenny did not copy Joe and Joe has not copied Lenny. Some people try too hard to search for conspiracies :P

  • @flyitfast Serious huh?? I thought the Lenny riff sounded like a Page/Zep rip 2 me.

  • @flyitfast i couldnt agree more

  • Well as a guitar player I know that there is the stuff you hear on the radio and the stuff that you have to read guitar magazines to find out that it exists. The music that you have to read lesson oriented magazines to find is usually technically advanced and is the basis of the lessons.

If I read that material and start learning about minor triads and pentatonic based chords and arpeggios commonly used in blues and rock music, I am going to use it in my music intentionally or unintentionally.

  • lenny kravitz SUCKS !!!!!! thats

  • don't matter. We're all a bunch of ripoff hacks when it comes down to it

  • sadly chickenfoot is just ordinary rock with exellent musicians. i want to hear Satch as he use to play, with alot of solo and feelings.

if i want music chickenfoot plays i can buy almost any other rockband cd:s. i hope its just a short period chickenfoot play the way ive heard so far.

or my musical journey with Satch will end this year.

its just plain rock. hope he change hes mind.

  • If you wanna hear Satriani solo, I guess you should listen to his solo records. Jesus fucking Christ, the world is full of dumb people.

  • dude i believe thats the point of chickenfoots music - that its just good old plain rock.... and the thing about ur 'musical journey' with satch ending cause of chickenfoot? thats just fuckin lame and immature dude

  • Satriani has better vibrato :P

  • No definately not copied. They are the same, but it's such a simple riff. Anyway, it was released before satch's.

  • That's a complete rip off... are you kidding me? I had a feeling it would be just knowing it was Kravitz , he's always going too far borrowing stuff from his "influences. But this is a blatant steal and anyone not admitting that must either have a hearing problem or wants to protect Lenny by being in denial of what's very apparent.

  • lenny is inspired in the music of jimi hendrix and satriani too so is normal to hear the same sounds in the songs they have the same style but satch will always be the one and only

  • everyones copying joe satriani

    xD

  • @stef0307 Me too man.

  • @stef0307 Haha first coldplay now Lenny xD

  • @stef0307 Everyone is copying Satriani... except Chuck Norris.

  • @stef0307 satch copied jeff beck, so in effect, everyone has been influenced by jeff beck (then,) hendrix, then Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, etc.

  • dead ringer, christ

  • Thats a fairly standard riff / melody.... its probably appears in thousands of songs at some point.

  • You can tell the U.S economy is really bad when a gifted guitar player and songwriter like Joe Satriani is lookin to sue and collect on musical rights that are hard to avoid when other bands make really good rock songs :)

  • ever heard of chickenfoot? satch is out there making KICKASS songs right now....

  • they sound the same to me

  • the coldplay song its more closer than leny's song is

  • There's only so much you can do with music until you unknowingly "copy" someone.

  • of course its copied, satch is the greatest! that y coldplay copied him to, there is just no beating satch, man. he is immortal, so the only way anyone can compare to him, is to plagerize.

  • its a 8 note melody line that a standard if you take it a step in another direction its a blues riff played by howling wolf in the 50's ,,, it is what it is !

  • wow sounds very similar, but no rip off, plus if you listen to joes riff there are some extra notes, but good find anyway

  • just like in coldplay case all of the notes are not the same. Why doesn't everyone sue everyone!!!

  • I personally think the coldplay song sounds far too similar, it's even the same tempo.. that is just my opinion though

  • Of course the tempo is similar, most stuff only sounds good at a particular tempo, in most cvases if the melody and rhythm are similar, the tempo follows suit.

    Fox.

  • u know nothing....stop talking

  • Ok guys i am being sarcastic. The point i am making is that all music is influenced by other music. There are only so many notes and octaves you can play. Music is soul

  • if you actually listen to joes interview, he's not gonna sue them because he just want a whoe lot of money. he's gonna sue them because that song is one he worked on for aged for rubina, and he tried to compromise with coldplay, but they just said get lost you stupid little guitar man.

  • trut

and the melodies, in the context of each song, give very different end results

  • Kravitz record was released in February, Satch's record was released in April.

But honestly, they're both very generic blues rock melodies. And Blues rock is as generic a genre as you can get.
