  • That snare roll!

  • Rehearsal at NSU in Natchitoches, La. yea i went there. and on the NSU drumline. Star of Indiana to me started the new phenomenon of drumlines.

  • Basses can march! I didn't know that :) @1:55

  • man, basses are seriously hauling it at 2:00, plus that turn wow

  • What a way to go out with a bang...

  • 2:35 was funny. Haha.

Really cool book and great line. Playing with some sac.

  • Center quad player looks like Ray Romano... but plays like Jesus

  • makes me just want to tear the shit out of the field.

  • we have the same end to our show in the drumline this year!!!

  • lol why were the cadets watching them?

  • going past vertical <3333333333333

  • I wish Star didn't fold. They were so awesome! My tenor tech said that hearing their alumni corps play the G bugles after Finals this year brought back great memories. If a group of alumni can bring Star back, then a lot of great drumlines will have something to really worry about.

  • Best. Quality of Sound. Drumline. Ever.

Every note was played with quality of sound. Every. Single. One.

  • Hey I think you should rename this to "Tutorial on how to pull your drum heads."

  • Turpin Stadium

  • Part of it is the theatre of it... "Control Destruction" It worked.. I marched Bluecoats that year.. and it was INTENSE....

  • My Lord. Their stick heights are astounding and they are almost inhumanly clean

Star is the reason why I fell in love with Drum Corps

  • Still one of the BEST drumlines in the history of DCI. I was in the 1991 World Chamionship Star Drumline, and this show still is one of the best to date.

  • its a visual

  • Comment removed

  • holy hell those feet are clean

  • hahahaha

  • "You're hands are superior" lol badass

  • 2:35 yes!!!

  • Chills dude. That gives me chills lol

  • i wonder what the dynamics written on the tenor sheet music was haha.. it probably just said "hit drum as hard as you can" hahah

i love star<3 they need to come back

  • I wonder how many heads the tenor line broke while playing this!

  • Arguably the best drum line in DCI history!

  • better yet i think this show influenced dci the most in history to how it is today for horns and perc

  • Very good point siryocro!

  • their drum book was 15 years ahead of its time

and the hornline sounds like it does now more persay

than say even cavies 97 show

  • did anyone see the cadets at the beginning, watching them? funny.

  • Well, it was sort of the retreat thing where they play for you when you win....duh...

  • DAMN! tenors at 0:16 nice!

  • FOSHO! Straight up overhyping.

  • I love watching the basses at 2:00

  • Yeah, but still arguably the most kick-ass show ever. (notice I said arguably).

  • To bad the pit sucks out on the 1/2 time SCV lick: 1 2 3& &1 every time (EVERY time) at the end (rehearsal footage following finals). Maybe it's camera positioning...but the rest sounds great.

  • They sucked out on that? Pretty sure it was a combination of echo and a (by today's standards) not-so-great recording device.

  • Holy mother of chops.

  • cadets watching the drumline that hammered their ass on final's night. That's rich. Star 93 was an original.

  • so many broken heads so little time

  • Man...too many du-ahs and splee-ahs for the hornone s in the opening statement...good golly. Its thing to play with excitement, but goodness, take the pit/guard people out sitting down and just listen to the opening. That's embarassing for a corps of their history and calibur.

  • It's an encore. Everybody's having a great time and getting hyped.

  • OK I'm confused. On this video I see three tenors. When I watch the show I swear I see five tenors. Am I just crazy or something?

  • No, there were three tenors throughout and there were four additional duo toms that are out from the pit for part of it.

  • 0:12-0:22 is a FFFFF buzz roll. haha

  • Yes... A tad cliché, but that height that they played should be called something like... Star '93". Heh. Clever?

  • cliche' for 2008 = innovation, ass kicking and amazing for 1993

  • HOLY SHIT! Are those the Cadets on the sideline?

  • So did Hannum teach this year?

  • it sounded pretty clean, but looked bad because they were playing so high. Still, good marching, making stuff look easy.

  • whats up with beating the shit out of everything even the pit did lmao wtf?

  • Well this was the only section really where they were playing like that. Listen to the entire show, you'll see what Im talking about. Also, the first part to the clip was an encore show where they had just lost finals by a 10th of a point...how would you be playing? honestly lol

  • FFFFF was the dynamic

  • well, think about it......the equipment that they used back then (15 years ago) was nowhere near the level that it is right now. The pit has mics now which brings helps with the overall effect of music. They had to beat the mess out of their drums in order to get that feeling back then.

  • that's real drum corps, with a capital DRUM!

  • wow... i love 52 inch stick hieghts... was the entire show written like that?? lol.. why the hell are the beating the shit out of everything..

but wow there drumline is haulin ass the entire show...

  • No it wasn't. But there were a few spots where it was needed. Watch again and you'll see what I'm talking about. Infact, good to the section on the drum break...not your average drum break...but seriously one of my all time favorite books

  • Extremely dynamic book. Not always "beating the shit out of everything." Saw these guys warm up in '93. Amazing rolls, impecable technique.

  • its sad there last year was 94...

  • So much hype!!!

  • man. that was so hype.

i was wish i was old enough to experience that in real life.

  • Great show!! I love drums!!! Hugs, Natazha xxxxx

  • If anyone wants to see their Field show part 3, i posted it on my channel.

BEST SHOW/DRUMCORE EVER, and BD was around at that time, and was still good!

  • I miss this corps.

  • I do believe Angeles and Queen were on that line...and they both went to BK if im not mistaken

  • Nick was in this line but Jeff was at Blue Knights. They both came over from SCV in 92.

  • @uncdrummer Queen was already at BK in 1993. Angelis went to BK in 1995, after another year at Star.

  • Aaron Moline Snare with Star 93, on to BD in 94

  • Holy shit, wail pit wail (2:30's)

  • seriously. i guess without amplification they just had to beat the crap out of their instruments to get a loud enough sound ...

  • Absolutely love that show! What a way to say goodbye to DCI. One of the best ever. Piss clean drumline!

  • anybody know where anybody marched in 1994? BD? SCV?? Cavaliers???
