This kid IS better than Lesh. And as stated, check him out live. The energy is palpable. Leaves a taste in your mouth every time, and I've seen him a dozen times. He was made to perform. That's the real deal.
Well this certainly sounds like Jackie but looks like Alex so bad here. The other Kfog vid of Like A Ball and Chain def looks like lil bro. Must be old school . Straight up thanks KFOG you are amazing. Real people behind the scenes. Great seeing Jackie @ Hopmonk tonight!!!
@slotcarbob Yes, seeing Jackie live ( and I have countless times) will answer any questions and remove any doubt anyone has. A truly remarkable talent and live performer.
@slotcarbob While Jackie Greene is one of my favorite musicians, Phil Lesh is amazing as well and should be equally respected. I enjoy them equally but have been a Phil fan for a much longer time. Either way, I love em both. Rock on fellow music lovers.
the fuck is wrong with you, really what mental disease have you contracted, that could make you go onto youtube and make horrible accusations about a great musician and a great person, i know the dude, hes very cool. I hope you die in a car crash you sad fuck.
You're strange... if he did, which may or may not have happened... but if he did... what makes you think he intentionally gave you something? what makes you even think he knew he was passing something to you? That's a very strange accusation to come out and make on youtube... Hope the VD clears up though...
Saw Jackie and his band as opening act for Phil Lesh & Friends/Ratdog concert in San Francisco last nite (12/30/08), and I was completely blown away.. I had already bought his new CD "Giving Up the Ghost" which I love, but seeing him perform in person was extraordinary...
Rest of the evening was a total waste of time, except for the few songs where Jackie did lead vocals/ guitar with Phil.. Just wish Jackie had played the whole evening, and these old guys from the Dead would step aside!
Wow, great sound! I'm from the SF bay area, born & raised. I'd love to see him in person! Just Awesome! Thanks to MyBulliesRock for sharing this video! 5 stars!
i saw him at the gathering of the vibes in bridgeport connecticut. by far he was the most entertaining of the whole festival, aside from phil and friends, but jackie is part of that so it doesnt count.
First caught him w/PLF last Nov., and he played the Beatles song "Don't Let me Down" and I was like, I have to get this guy's music... I bought the last copy of "Giving up the Ghost" at some store last week and it's great. Also look up "American Myth" on Verve.
This guy is truly a raw talent; he even looks like Dylan. Unfortunately, Giving Up the Ghost is so over produced that the songs lose their incredible soul. If he tells his producers to fuck themselves and goes raw, he will be fucking amazing!
"Giving up the Ghost" is a great album and he never sounded better. The vocals are great! The horns sound awesome in this song and they are not at all over powering. Any by the way, he has his own recording studio and making the records he wants to make.
In my more than thirty years of going to concerts, I've never seen a more complete talent than this young fellow from Sacremento. He's a young Dylan, Clapton, and Joel all rolled into one! Buy the new album..."Giving Up The Ghost"...NOW!!
I have a new man crush...

I checked this guy out because he plays with Phil. I cannot help but conclude that he is so overrated it ain't even funny.
