While I really love the album version the most, this one is actually very nice too, it's a more sincere vocal and I feel it could have done well as a b-side. I really like the instrumental version as well which can be heard on Ray Of Light - Instrumentals, the William Orbit Promo CD.

Wow, thanks for such an interesting curio. But thank heavens she re-did it!!! This sounds like an awkward offcut from Evita or a Christmas carol even. It is really quite horrible, lacking the energy of the master cut. But very fascinating to hear part of the evolution process of a song so thank you.

It is so eagerly and mild ,.... so beautiful.

Why Madonna has not made this version? Why

are such brilliant songs as "Like a Flower," "Gone Gone Gone"

"Be Careful been" not so published by Madonna!?

Also in "Power of Goodbye," "Little Star" and "To Have and not to hold"

the demos are much better!

@antocph You are so right!!! The Madonna of "Like a Prayer", "Bedtime Stories", "Erotica", "Ray of Light" and "Confessions" have been traded in for uninspired generic R&B. Remember "Hard Candy"? That album was not sweet as Madonna proudly proclaimed, but pretty boring!!!
