  • HACKKKK!! how does someone like this guy have any credibility??? this is where the tea party mentality comes from... ignorance.

  • It would make me feel safe and cared for to have a Catholic Doctor working on me. This woman scares me. Independent woman MA voter is voting for BROWN.

  • The real core of the problem is that the government is involved in health care. I'm not a supporter of Coakley but she does have a point about separation of church & state. What she misses however though is that the government is illegally & unethically involved in health care and that there needs to be a separation there as well.

I think people should be free to not do things against their convictions and other people should be free to select health care providers that will meet their needs.

  • @kmg501

Separation of Church and State is one thing, but private health care providers are not "the state"; therefore, a private religiously affiliated hospital isn't bound to church/state separation.

  • @marriedirish

You get no disagreement from me. But that isn't far enough IMHO. The federal government is already illegally (unconstitutionally) involved in health care. That is the real core of this problem. I'm not crazy though, I don't expect this problem to go away over night but I do know that people need to wake up and demand a return to constitutional standing because with each illegal step they take, it emboldens them to take more steps.

  • Coakley is such an anti-Catholic bigot. So she wants to close down St. Jude's hospital?

Oh of course, she has no problem with Muslim women wearing burkas for their drivers license photo, but no way should catholics be allowed to work as ER doctors and nurses.

  • Emergency contraception? WTF is that. OMG, I have GOT to go have unprotected sex RIGHT THIS MINUTE. What can you give me doc? This cunt is dumb as dirt. If Massachusetts sends her to Washington, we should just finally throw our hands up and put some of that taxpayer money into making a large saw so we can cut that particular cancer off of our country.

  • Doesn't forcing hospitals and health care providers to choose between providing health care services and violating their beliefs prohibit the free exercise thereof?

Massachusetts has already lost its #1 adoption provider by forcing adoptions to same-sex partners.

The 1st Amendment prohibits Congress from passing a law establishing a religion or prohibiting the free exercise of a religion. Seems that we are nowhere near violating the first part of that, but pushing hard on the second part.

  • Exactly how is contraception supposed to help in the case of rape or incest? Do you take the pill in anticipation of these events, or ask your assailant to put on a condom?

  • Marthat called it right when she said "Roe vs. Wade has made it clear that women have a right to choose, and in Massachusetts, particularly if someone has been the victim of a rape, an assault" Abortion is a perfectly legal procedure in Mass and it should remain that way.

  • Martha was ABSOLUTELY right when she was discussing individuals who would refuse to provide certain emergency medical procedures and treatments -- including emergency contraception -- to patients on the grounds of their religious beliefs. Maybe they shouldn't be working in an emergency room.

  • Martha is awesome! Thanks for posting this. I'm voting for her for sure now!

  • @mushroomhead777 Yea,well the Boston Strangler was 'awesome',too in his own way...no doubt you were a fan of his as well

  • the Boston strangler? WTF?

  • @mushroomhead777 Google Albert DeSalvo, you ignoramus...and since you're bound and determined to vote for an anti-Catholic bigot,I'm sure Martha will appreciate your support...and I'm not even Catholic, but I recognize the insane bigotry of such a policy as that

  • All I know is that if I have to go to a hospital for anything I do not want any health care personnel making decisions about my treatment based upon their religious beliefs.

  • @mushroomhead777 Well,I don't doubt that is 'all you know'...your ignorance is breathtaking...and no Catholic intern is going to refuse to treat you on grounds of conscience....this only concerns 'morning after' pills and such...and if you have such a problem with Catholics, what the fuck are you doing living in Massachusetts to begin with?

  • I never said anything about Catholics you moron. You did. Look at my comments, did I once mention Catholics in my discussion except when I responded to you?

  • @mushroomhead777 No,but it was your heroine Martha who mentioned Catholics etc....and I'm sure you can find any number of ways to rationalize your bigotry....so when she goes down in flames next Tuesday,I'm sure you will find some way to blame right wing talk radio or Sarah Palin,or racism,or whatever for the reason she lost instead of her own incompetence, bigotry, and utter lack of professional integrity...no doubt you voted for Nazi Joe's last big mistake last time around

  • No she didn't that interviewer mentioned Catholics. You do understand English right? I believe that is what they were speaking in this interview.

  • The word "Catholic" never even came out of her mouth.

  • @mushroomhead777 Well who the fuck did you think she was talking about in heavily Catholic Massachusetts.you 'tard?...Mormons?

  • She was answering HIS question

  • lol wake up you have no idea what that means? lol read a book

  • PITTMAN: Right, if you are a Catholic, and you believe what the Pope teaches, you know, that any form of birth control is a sin. And you don't want to do that, that --COAKLEY: No, but we have a seperation of church and state here, Ken, let's be clear.PITTMAN: Yeah, but in the emergency room you still have your religious freedom.COAKLEY: The law says that people are allowed to have that. And so, then, if you -- you can have religious freedom, you probably shouldn't work in the emergency room.

  • @mushroomhead777 Yea,she was talking about Mormons and Muslims, and Southern Baptists and Quakers....there are soooo many of Them in Mass

  • Devout Catholic doctors, nurses and other health care providers are perfectly FREE to not perform medical procedures or administer medications in violation of their religious beliefs. No one can force them to violate their religious beliefs...they are FREE to practice their religion. But they can't have it both ways...

  • If they want to work for a health care system that obtains federal funds then they cannot refuse to participate in medical procedures which are legally permissible because of their religious beliefs. Go into another line of work if tax dollars are in play.

  • @mushroomhead777 And if ObamaCare takes over the entire health and medical care system, they won't have that choice will they?....brilliant thinking there, genius

  • That is such BS. Where are you getting your data from? Oh right foKKKs news.

  • @mushroomhead777 heh.. fucking clown....everybody who lives in the South and isn't blind queer for Obama and the Democrats must be in the KKK,right?....self delude much?

  • You Democrats are the KKK. You worship Robert Byrd.

  • remind me not to send my kids where you went to school! retarded liberal

  • if a medical proffesional's religious beliefs preclude them from even advising the patient of his or her medical options, then they violate they're oath and have no place in the profession. . .

  • Besisdes, Coakley's remarks makes clear, she was discussing individuals who would refuse to provide certain emergency medical procedures and treatments -- including emergency contraception- to patients on the grounds of their religious beliefs, not all "devout Catholics."

  • scary stupid

  • Ken Pittman rules!!!!

  • Wow I can't believe my ears! i'm very offended she just lost my vote! she is dumber than palin!

  • Comment removed

  • Many thanks for putting up this video

I submitted the washington times link to this interview to the Drudge report.

Now it's up on Drudge's page , so hopefully part 1 and part 2 will get some more hits.

  • She's a liberal.

Therefore, like all liberals, she is evil, and an enemy of the United States.

  • Coakley is now aware the masses in Ma are not so simple minded as once thought!

It is a beautiful thing as Brown sign dominate the landscape and I have yet to see anything but Coakley sticker TAPED on a car window.Talk about uncommital.

The democrats are augmenting the truth by trying to taint a man who votes with his constituents as if Brown would dangerous to her rights or civil liberties.Brown cares about the victim and the medical professional. So proud of my state for looking past party!!

  • How in the heck did this women become the Attorney General!!!

This woman is as smart as a stack of bricks.

There are no words that can portray just how stupid this idiot is. And yet she has a chance to become a Senator. Opps, what did I just say! She would fit in just well with her fellow Democrazis,

  • The stupidest pair of titties in the history of donkeyshit socialism

  • She is one ignorant woman. She shouldn't be elected dog catcher.

  • No Catholics allowed LOL now that's tolerance from the left. If you have religious morals stay the hell out of the way just because you don't believe in abortion. We don't need any more half witted politicians in the senate. It's full! How about practicing muslims should they stay away from the hospitals too. They have religious convictions. No just catholics.

  • I pray this woman doesn't get anywhere NEAR government work after this is all over. What a douche.

  • Roe V Wade did NOT give women "a right to choose". It created a privacy barrier between patients and doctors (which is selectively enforced). The concept of "emergency contraception" is flawed because you're not saving a life or curing an illness with it, and there is no critical care component.

Finally, it was NEVER meant to COMPELL people to act! Her "separation of church and state" means all health care workers are state employees. Even the soldier can claim conscientious objector.

  • very thoughtful analysis

  • Coakley does not deserve to win this election....she didn't campaign hard, thinks Afghanistan is terrorist-free, criticized Brown for campaigning in the cold at a Pats game (elitist), and she is being funded entirely by corporate lobbyists, the ones true Americans hate.

  • you're totally wrong -- she criticized him for campaigning outside fenway park -- can you blame her? she is an elitist democrat, she is entitled to the ted kennedy seat (sarcasm -- go Scott Brown!)

  • scoot brown all the way

  • Yes, I agree. Scoot all the way. lol.

  • Martha Coakley is AGAINST THE FIRST AMMENDMENT!
