Happy Birthday to Alfred Hitchcock... "Hitch"...."Master Of Suspense". He was a master at his craft and his movies are timeless. He was a perfect example of excellence in film making.
I love the North by Northwest theme music playing with this sequence. But, still, something feels like its missing. You're making a tribute for the greatest filmmaker in history. It needs to have a bit more of an epic feel to it.
I hate this version of the N*NW score... It's too slow for me... I like the fast version but it did fit the video-time wise. I just wish it was faster... It would make the video more exciting!... GREAT JOB! Love it!
This version is not that bad, but I totally understand what you mean by a faster tempo. The two releases of "Psycho" don't match the original tempo, but McNeely's version comes the closest. I see your name is "DannyElfmanFAN". He is my favorite film composer and who really got me into film music as a whole. Great youtube name! :)
The name of the film is Torn Curtain. It was made in 1966 and the stars are Paul Newman and Julie Andrews. Is a very unknow Hitchcock, but this film is suspense from the beginning to the end, particullary the end.
I like your video very much! I am a big fan of Herrmann's music. Actually, I have been on a Bernard Herrmann kick listening to a ton of his scores. I do love the main theme for "North by Northwest". By far my favorite score by him is "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad". Genius, pure genius!
I own every Hitchcock film that is on DVD and yet whenever North by Northwest appears on TV I have to watch it from whatever point it's at. My favorite Hitchcock film and a bit of a compulsion.
The answer for your question is yes,he did. Hitch appears in a photography in a newspaper that is inside the boat. He had to do it because all the action is set only on the boat and he could not appear in person.
Craig, your video is super cool!

Thanks for the posting,
With this, I saw an Alfred Hitchcock's picture that has blood IN COLOR ! ;O
Alfred Hitchcock, for me, always did his films with blood in p&b... This scene that the blood's in color (at 1:05) what's its name ? :]

Can someone please tell me where the scene is from at 2:25 where a guy cuts a big picture of an eye with big scissors?
eddievanpenis 3 years ago
The film is "Spellbound", with Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck
racingrubberbiker 3 years ago
Spellbound wasn't a Hitchcock-Herrmann collaboration; Miklos Rozsa was the composer for that film.

cynjaba 3 years ago
does anyone know if Hitchcock did a cameo in his movie lifeboat? If so where?

Hi.
The answer for your question is yes,he did. Hitch appears in a photography in a newspaper that is inside the boat. He had to do it because all the action is set only on the boat and he could not appear in person.
Another touch of genius from Mr. Hitchcock.

Thank you for your comment. When I did the video I put in a low format. But I'll get the original and will post a high quality version.
Thanks again.

Love the content, by why make the screen so small. Viewers cannot enjoy the wonderful visuals, which is the point of the whole video.
