Well zir, I'm gonna build me one, 'cept I'm gonna make it do stuff. Since Portallin' isn't possible. (*insert sad face*) I think I'm gonna have it be either a Tesla based lightning gun, or a flame thrower (that's still Tesla based.) When I get that done I'll let y'all see it, m'kai? Also for safety reasons, I think I'm gonna up to better materials (Such as electrical conduit an' scrap metal. Plus a farraday cage mesh to avoid electricuting myself and Portal spring boots w/antishock grounding.)

TIP: 4 inch Pvc couplings cannot loosely fit onto a four inch ABS tubes. Instead, use a 5 inch PVC coupling, or use 4 inch ABS couplings.

@HotScreens even though I've never done anything like this, I'm pretty sure he warms the foam so it melts very slightly and then he can adjust it to the right shape and it will stay in the right position.

He got the sizes wrong. There is no way in hell you could loosely fit a 4inch ABS in a 4inch coupler. It should be: 2" Coupler, 2"ABS pipe, 3"ABS pipe and 4"PVC coupler. no 4 inch pipes should be used, i bought one and it was waaaay to big.

@RIBZComrade pvc couplers are usually larger than abs couplers, go to a plumbing supply store to get 100% abs and the portal gun will be the right size

@nitroVIDO Ah, that makes sense...I called around to five different stores, and not one of those carried them :/ My new base consists of a 2" PVC pipe inside a 3" PVC pipe, with the "core" being inside a 1.25" length of clear tubing (sold on rolls), and that seems to be working for me pretty good. The back end is still the 4" couplers and the front is still the 3" coupler.

Like this comment if you tried it and it works for you, maybe somebody else could use this little bit of info.
