The android doesn't need the more powerful processor to run the software. Even if you root the phone and use setcpu to run the cpu at 350mhz all the time the scrolling is still smooth. Thats because its hardware accelerated.
That guy should learn that flushing recent apps doesn't "kill them". Android is very efficient at managing app running background, the recent apps is just a list of the recent apps with a screenshot, and they will be back upfront at different speeds depending if Android had flushed them.

Just a note; the recent apps task manager doesn't show you all your open apps. To really close every single app, you have to force close them using the task manager built-in to the settings.

I switched from Galaxy S2 to iPhone 4S. I much prefer iOS. It's much faster, stable, has a nice UI and is secure unlike Android. I wouldn't mind using any android phone with iOS on it... Android is terrible.

That was true when Android first came out. Now ICS is just as good as IOS. FYI IOS can freeze and does freeze. Apple is better at hiding it. I use both phones in the sore I work in on a daily. They are very even. You can't go wrong with either phone. So personal Prefrence is how you can choose by.

my 4s will be supported for my full 2 year contract with os updates. I'll be able to get ios 7. For the s2, it'll be supported for a few more months and that's it, no more updates. Example: 2 year old iphone 3gs is getting ios 5. 2 year old androids not even getting gingerbread.
@D3FIIL3D i had an iPhone 3gs, updated it to IOS5 and guess what happened? It immediately became slower and less responsive because the older hardware couldn't handle the new software. so new software for old phones isn't the be all and end all.
ive done hands on stuff with both of these phones i chose the iphone. sure you can use widgets and all that stuff but after a month or 2 androids get considerably slower when iphones keep their great speed its much easier to do things download apps and also a much bigger app selection. and also you can install android on a jailbroken iphone but you cant install ios an an android if you people also these two phones arent even comparable galaxy nexus is 4g iphones 3g so technically its wrong

I was just playing with a galaxy nexus... it creaks in my hand when I grip it. the display is slightly blurry and I can count the pixels on the screen. when I unlock it I feel like my finger is going to crack the screen. 4g speed in downtown seattle felt just like a strong 3g signal. companies keep pumping out these cheap plastic phones with bloat os. Some thought should go into the design of a smartphone, and for f*** sake use better materials ppl. iPhone 4s----->iPhone 5.

Nexus is very fast in browsing performance, but the that is actually only one of the few things it's better at. Sure android does not lock you in to iTunes and stuff like that. But if I would like to make my 4S more costumizable, I would just jailbreak it. It's not even difficult.
the thing is plastic will bend and return to its shape without permanent deformation much more readily than stainless steel or glass. From a materials perspective plastic makes the most sense. Have you seen how the galaxy s2 battery cover can be bent almost 180 degrees? I have had both the 4s and now the galaxy nexus. IPhone didn't do it for me. I felt too limited. But that makes it such a great phone for those who want it that way. They both have pros and cons what it comes down to is preferenc

in every day life your test would be invalid. iphone runs apps with the same speed even if 10 or 15 apps are running in the background, while android is slowed down as the apps running in the background consume memory. so unless you keep closing your tabs on android it will eventually slow down. I used to have and Android and hated it, after that I got an iphone which almost never lags.
U know iPhone users that Samsung makes the chips in iPhones. That was true when Android first came out. Now ICS is just as good as IOS. FYI IOS can freeze and does freeze. Apple is better at hiding it. I use both phones in the sore I work in on a daily. They are very even. You can't go wrong with either phone. So personal Prefrence is how you can choose by.

my 4s will be supported for my full 2 year contract with os updates. I'll be able to get ios 7. For the s2, it'll be supported for a few more months and that's it, no more updates. Example: 2 year old iphone 3gs is getting ios 5. 2 year old androids not even getting gingerbread.

ive done hands on stuff with both of these phones i chose the iphone. sure you can use widgets and all that stuff but after a month or 2 androids get considerably slower when iphones keep their great speed its much easier to do things download apps and also a much bigger app selection. and also you can install android on a jailbroken iphone but you cant install ios an an android if you people also these two phones arent even comparable galaxy nexus is 4g iphones 3g so technically its wrong

It appears that the Nexus is at least a bit faster in terms of loading applications like messaging, settings, etc. that are part of the phones core software, even quicker loading 3rd party applications like facebook, twitter, etc. and noticeably faster on the browser and you can see (720p) that both phones are on 3G. iPhone 4S wins in terms of simplicity and user friendliness, Nexus wins in terms of performance, customization, and versatility.

@voltstash No, It does uses the same processor A5 as ipad 2, but its under clocked due to heat issue not 1ghz.. but frankly no one knows how much its clocks.. the reviewers are guessing by running some tools on jailbroken iphone 4s, which says its 800 mhz.. but how does it matter.. as long as the performance is good... but in store i compared it to galaxy s2, found it slightly slower..ICS update to galaxy s2 will make it much faster than ios 5. but who knows ios6 may make iphone better.PEACE

I was just playing with a galaxy nexus... it creaks in my hand when I grip it. the display is slightly blurry and I can count the pixels on the screen. when I unlock it I feel like my finger is going to crack the screen. 4g speed in downtown seattle felt just like a strong 3g signal. companies keep pumping out these cheap plastic phones with bloat os. Some thought should go into the design of a smartphone, and for f*** sake use better materials ppl. iPhone 4s----->iPhone 5.

the thing is plastic will bend and return to its shape without permanent deformation much more readily than stainless steel or glass. From a materials perspective plastic makes the most sense. Have you seen how the galaxy s2 battery cover can be bent almost 180 degrees? I have had both the 4s and now the galaxy nexus. IPhone didn't do it for me. I felt too limited. But that makes it such a great phone for those who want it that way. They both have pros and cons what it comes down to is preferenc

Yes it did give me a head ache after about the first 2 weeks when I was reading or watching youtube videos, and I purchased it when the iphone 4 came out. Apple has slightly better software, but apple rips people off with cheap hardware, as opposed to android with much better hardware, the only better hardware in an iphone is the wolfson dac, but of course you don't know what that is.

in every day life your test would be invalid. iphone runs apps with the same speed even if 10 or 15 apps are running in the background, while android is slowed down as the apps running in the background consume memory. so unless you keep closing your tabs on android it will eventually slow down. I used to have and Android and hated it, after that I got an iphone which almost never lags.

I owned a nexus one briefly.... And a few assorted htc's and Motorola's. They are all disposable garbage, and if you have ever owned an iPhone you know everything else is garbage too.
