@granto425 Pickups are an EMG 81 in the bridge and EMG 60 in the neck...I've been wanting to do a cover of "One" for a while but haven't really got around to it, there will certainly come a time eventually though.

At 5:10 it sounded like the devil entered your guitar and made it sound like it was playing backwards. That's probably also the reason why I got the chills when you played that screaming solo! I literally got the chills! btw, I don't listen to much Metallica, and this was a treat to me to see somebody play a song that I have never heard before and make it sound so flawless. You're amazing and I HAVE to give you mad props dude! Respect. (I also downpick a lot, guess it's just a preference)

@ltownrocker133 personal preference, I've always had more of a downpicking habit...but also it's sort of an unwritten rule in the Metallica community to down pick the songs as much as possible (unless it's physically impossible to do so, such as solos or triplets, tremolo and shuffle picking).

This Is one of the best covers I have seen on YouTube, your a great guitarist would you give me some tips on down picking, cos I'm having trouble, like for example: when I'm playing master of puppets I try to relax my arm as much I can so I dont tense while I'm playing but it seems to just tense on it's own and then I have an ache in my arm that slows me down while I'm playing :/

@Metalshred97 thanks very much for the compliment, when it comes to down picking I think the key is in the wrist/hand more so than the arm, if you use your arm you'll tire out a lot quicker, only use your arm if your wrist/hand starts to get tired and you need a break for a few seconds...you're right about the relaxed part though, it's best to have your wrist/hand as relaxed and loose as possible.

I pactice downpicking, galloping and tremolo picking with a metronome and I also practice just by playing random riffs palm mute on the low E.

@MetalSk8Shred No, I don't do any routine exercises for downpicking, it was just something that developed over time with practice and has stuck with me ever since...it probably helped a little that when I started out playing guitar I did nothing but down pick, it just felt more natural to me...and it shows in my earliest videos like 'welcome home (sanitarium)', I was even downpicking the solos (which is crazy now that I look back).

When I first started, I forced myself to always alternate pick, but I like down picking better for metal playing, because it's feels more consistant to me and it has more power and it's alot heavier. But I do alternate pick/tremolo pick for some songs. Like Fight Fire With Fire, it's impossible to play it up to speed with all downpicks. And Battery. so I have taught myself all of that stuff pretty well, just gotta keep workin' at it!

@gamemaster1310 thanks, I can't really think of a whole lot, just takes time and practice...although I think a common mistake people tend to make is that they move their arm to downpick instead of simply moving their wrist...it's all in the wrist, only use arm strength as a last resort or to give your wrist a rest for a few seconds.
