  • An amazing solo and technique, but why do I feel like like I'm listening to Michael Brecker?

  • @johnay3ch You're right, amazing solo. Why do you feel like dismissing Berg as sounding like Brecker? I dunno, I see where you're coming from but I don't hear it. Sounds like prime Bob Berg to me.

  • Every time Lincoln slaps his bass I want to slap him. He's a good player but his tone is awful and he slaps like a 12 year old.

  • Awesome!

  • breathtaking solo by bob berg great

  • I have a clip without cuts on my profile!

  • The 3 dislikes are from brainless morons that listen to hip hop & think that shit is good music... This video is just went right over the top of their heads and they just dont get it. Mike Stern & Bob Berg are both consumate virtuosos & demonstrate here why jazz musicians are the best on the planet... Period!

  • I don't understand how anyone can actually dislike something like this. It doesn't make sense. The only reason I can come up with is that 3 aliens that came from a planet where unbelievable music is punishable by death somehow intercepted this video and clicked dislike.

  • You gotta love that Seinfeld bass. bowng bowng (just try saying it)

  • oh man mike stern has some chops on him!!!!! Enough to make rock and jazz players alike quake in their boots!!!

  • Now this is a chart that separates the men from the boys. Heh!

  • damn!! damn!! damn!! incredible musicians!! inFUKENcredible!!

  • huh... 74 000th view. Awesome.

I'm learning this song for a bass player friend of mine. Really cool song. Good for guitar playing chops too lol

  • im doin this for my berklee audition hope i do mike stern proud.

    and RIP Bob Berg

  • i have seen them yesterday on jazz fest sarajevo

  • yeh f'en great . Bob & Mike, miss Bob

  • is it a telecaster?

  • C'è il marchio della fiat lo si vede durante l'assolo di mike stern!!!!!!!!

Comunque che schifo perchè salta i pezzi????????????????????

  • chad..I guess youve never seen the great jazz trumpet player dizzy gillespe play? His cheeks blow out like a blow fish! But what comes out is the bottom line.. so close your eyes if you find it distracting.. and enjoy genius! By the way I'm an alto player.. and when the juice is REALLY flowing... makin is look easy... AINT EASY!

  • very nice ! です.

  • You would have to have a brain first for it to hurt...

  • Um, excuse me? I spelled aneurysm right didn't I? That's a big word that requires a big huge brain to spell. It just so happens that Bob Berg's face gives me a head ache whenever I watch him play, He's a burning sax player though. It's not like I hate his playing, I just wish he'd make it look more easier than trying to push an elephant out of your anus, that's all.

  • haha i know what you mean. but when i watch him play (RIP), i feel like he's really putting everything he's got into the notes, so it makes me feel better about my own playing that he looks like he's really trying, even though he probably isn't. whereas when i play, i want to cry because i cant even wrap my head around his technique. love his playing though

  • If you look beside the fact that youtube completely destroys the sound quality - this is the best sounding clip I've ever heard of any of these guys! Kudos to the sound-mixer-guy!!!

BTW the cuts in this clip...feels like a knife in your heart.. I've got the whole clip somewhere at home.

Doesn't anybody know if it's possible to get this concert in its entirety? That would be awesome... lets trade!

  • Gotta love Bob's dangling curl of hair. Hot!

  • I'm trying to learn to play this song... Trying to play along with this guy is crazy.

Such a great song. It's almost as catchy as an Aqua song but with the added bonus of not resulting in the desire to smash your head against a brick wall :P

  • :) :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

  • dude this is pretty much the most fun song i've ever played

  • Sometimes I think that music is builted just for the masters. Amazing

  • I look at it this way - music is for everybody, but not everybody can be a master. That's what makes hearing a master such a special experience.

  • fucking cuts, but i appreciate being able to see what i saw

  • A band full of freakish monsters. I sincerely mean that in the best way possible. Just about as good as it gets

  • makes me nervous !

  • two of my favorite solos of all time, bob berg and mike stern are two of my biggest influences. i just got back from a funk gig and this music is heavenly with the buzz of playing live

  • Bob Berg, What intensity, wow. This really rocks.

The tone is fantastic. Sadly he is no linger with us.

  • yes, I agree, fantastic

  • fantastic

  • Unfucking believable!! RIP Bob Berg.

  • Brilliant sound on this clip...very annoying with cuts in the solos though. Anyone has this whole concert?

  • la chica de la bateria k dices es kim thompsom

  • Dennis Chambers ;)

  • Wow, this rocks. Where can I find the whole song? I don't like having the solos ripped apart.

  • Mike's one of the only guitarists that can shred like that in jazz.

  • Lincoln Goines is awesome.

  • La primera vez que vi y escuche a Mike Stern fue en el canal Film & Arts. Se presentaba en un club de jazz de Nueva York y recuerdo que una chica tocaba la bateria de manera increible. El sonido de la guitarra es muy personal. Me gusta mucho.

  • This is one Hellll of a jam

  • I actually saw Stern, Dave Weckl, Bob Berg & Anthony Jackson at a club in West Chicago, IL in the mid 1990's. I saw 4 feet from Mike Stern. I was so dumbfounded at what I just saw and heard at the end of the concert that I was almost silent on the ride home! What GOD GIVEN talent! I miss Bob Berg. I hope he's playing this lick for God right now.

  • Anthony Jackson is the shit. I saw him play with Pat Kelley at the Baked Potato in L.A. It was amazing

  • MIke , you are so fuckin amazing.Jesus , holly shit, that sound.

  • yeeeeeeeeahh bob berg mom fucka:)

  • He has amazing tone!

  • How in the hell do you chop a smoking sax solo like that? That's music abuse, who ever posted this should lose all right to listen to music except Jimmy Buffet.

  • this vid is amaving

  • Oh now i know what u mean..... what a good solo... ruined....

  • haha amen... the rest of the video is killin but yeah it's a shame it was chopped like this

  • Never heard of him.. But I will from now on...

  • Great playin goin on here...love Mike Stern

  • mike is my favourite guitarist!

  • why did you trim in Bob Berg's solo, you savage?

  • Every time I here Lincoln Goines slap his bass I want to slap the shit out of him.

  • it's a shame to post such an awesome bob berg solo with cuts in it.. damn man!

  • I am watching this more then once a day everyday. I need a 12 step program.

  • here ya go:

    A A# BC C# D D# EF F# G G#

    boom!

  • It's because of the performance's buddy....I got the changes that's not the problem.

  • dude, that's the 12 step program you requested.

    :)

  • That would be a 12 half step program. ;)

  • oops! ;-)

  • ma che cazzo tagli i soli?

  • QUE temazo carajo

  • ...uau!

  • amazing

  • Fabulous stuff...thanks!

  • Great video...but why the cuts in the opening Berg solo???

  • And the Stern solo too...dang....this is such a great performance too

  • drop dead gorgeous

  • Without words!

  • fantastici tutti.................

  • for some reason mike stern is one guitar player i cant seem to get into man :( cant stand his tone

  • I don't understand the reason to write completely negative things - I think his tone is both wonderful and amazing...

  • @Rdallaire i hear, you, man. i feel the same way, good composer tho

  • Yeah, these boys can blow...

  • Bog Berg is just impossible. Awe inspiring improvisation

  • Great stuff. I've got CDs of Stern and Berg and have seen both live, but never together. Great performance, but what's with the skips in the video? Are those edits, or just some kind of dropouts?

  • Wow! Hard to believe ... Stern and Berg are all over each others early solo albums and toured extensively with each other. This tune is my favorite of their collaborations.

  • Wow. What great musicians. Mike stern is the man!. I wish I could see the late and great Bob Berg. Thanks for posting this. More please.

  • Rippin'!! I've always said that Mike Stern is a cross between Jimi Hendrix and Charlie Parker. Bob Berg's a monster, too! So's the whole band!!

  • Man, Mike Stern just tears it up
