  • i have had my marker for over a year but only used it once because i didn't know u could use co2

  • can you get a response trigger on a sp-8?

  • Why would you want to, it already has a double and fires like 17 bps auto- RT would just add more noise.

  • you dont need to cause it has an electro grip inside to learn more about that research an ion its the same thing

  • its comes electric you faggot

  • I own one and it is Super quiet, but only when you have the stealth barrel. It is a great gun and it is only bulky when you compare it to speedball guns. IF YOU DONT LIKE REALISTIC GUNS, THEN DONT TRASH TALK SAYING THAT IT IS BULKY!!!!!

  • would you say this is better than the tippmann x7? i'm having a hard time deciding between the two. cheers.

  • I have an sp8 i havent really tried the x7. But i can tell you this gun is amazing in woodsball AND speedball, it has a very light adjustable trigger, extremely accurate. Unlike what many people say, it DOES NOT feel too bulky and thats comming from a small person. Only downside this has compared to the x7 is that it is not supposed to be used with c02.

  • Did i mention how quite it is? people who are 20 feet away from me on a speedball field complain that they couldnt tell when i was firing at them, lol.

  • that sounds wicked sick. you should get a q loader for that bad boy

  • how can you shoot 200 balls with CO2 without the marker freezing up?

  • The coiled remote helps the co2 expand before it gets to the marker. The top of the bottle gets ice on it if you're firing fast like that but the liquid or frost doesn't get anywhere near the marker. I've never froze the marker using co2 on remote in nearly 3 years. Air is defiantly much better though.....

  • Nice multicam

  • Haha, you need to take a closer look at that.

Its not MC. I can't be certain because of the low quality of the vid, but it looks to be German Flectarn camo.

  • hehe both wrong, its australian jelly bean camo. you can't really see the detail cos of the bad resolution but it works really well when leaves are on the floor.

  • Haha, oh well, it was a shot in the dark.

Hard to make out with the low resolution.

Never heard of it none the less. Interesting.

  • is the stock built in???

  • no, its a smart parts accessory thats designed to fit on the gun.

  • Does this gun only run on PSI or can Co2 work also?

  • many people will tell you HPI only (definatly better) but I have run the SP8 successfully with no frozen internals for about 2 years using CO2 using a coiled remote hose. So long as you don't go mad with your rate of fire and the CO2 has plenty of time to expand (like in the coiled remote hose) then you shouldn't have problems.

  • Awesome, thanks for the help!

  • you cann use co2 but it freezez up after like a hopper.

  • not with a coiled remote hose it doesn't!

  • Not picking at you, but I thought you should know what you said in the comment you left.

All markers use PSI. PSI is the measurement of pressure, regardless of what source its coming from.

"PSI" stands for Pressure per Square Inch.

What you meant to say was HPA. High Pressure Air, also referred to as "Nitrogen", or compressed air. Same difference.

Hope that helps your paintball lingo.

  • Quite right you are! I know what I meant hehe.

  • PSI actually stands for Pounds per Square Inch....

  • do you need the blackheart board to do the 3 shot burst and the full auto???

  • nope. thats the beauty of pre-installed electronics

  • You would with a UK board, but not with a US board which has all the modes. UK board only has semi and ramping as 3 shot burst & full auto technically illegal for us....

  • its a ok gun if u wunt a good gun get a mini or a ego or a marq they are the best

  • lol how are minis the best there good but i wouldent say there the best

  • is this a good gun

  • yes, it's a very good gun. it gets the job done. ive had mine for just over a year now, hasn't disappointed me in any way.

  • Sweet!

I want to buy one of these, but i cannot afford the N02. Will it work with CO2? Or am I better to buy another marker than this one?

  • It works fine with co2 and is an accurate gun, it is so accurate i almost outshot my friend who has a tippmann with a flatline

  • is the xm8 the same paintball gun as the sp-8?

  • the xm8 is an assault rifle, but the sp8 has the same look

  • u have to install an anti-siphon tube for it if u want to use co2. changing from compressed air to co2 was hard but it was worth it. no spray when u take it off the marker and its so easy, gauge tells how much u have left , change to compressed air

  • Ah. FPS chrono rating on this? I've been wondering...

  • I like the way the sound of the paint hitting the tree sounds louder than the gun!

  • they are so quiet

  • they arent that quiet. Notice the first shot is louder than the rest? This is because that camera has a built in ambient noise filter. It takes it at least 1 shot to kick in.

Granted the long shrouded SP8, is very quiet, and even more than this one. Thats because it has an 18" ported barrel, that is muffled but inner running O-rings that trap the sound coming from the ports in individual air pocks running in a series throughout the long shroud.

The short one doesnt suppress the noise as much.

  • no they are quiet one guy i plaay with has one and yeah it is amzingly quiet its not the camera

  • What ever dude, Im not arguing with you. I have three of them setting right here with the about 8 other ions, and 4 pistols, I think I know what Im talking about. Im not saying they arent quiet, but this one is presented quieter than they are, since the camera is in fact quieting the ambient surounding noise. This is old tech that I know plenty about.

You need to learn about things like this before commenting Im wrong. Look at my videos. I know what Im talking about,I build markers for a living.

  • That sounds disgusting

  • no surpressor? how is it that quiet?

  • electropneumatic...

  • yep its actualy a nicemil sim not just a blow back like the tippmann dont get me rong i love a tippmann i keep 1 around for rain, but ya electronumatic preformance vs electro mechanical.

  • N2 is cleaner and wont freez the parts its better than CO2

  • o2 will not shoot as fast. and it blows your o rings.

  • so for once.

    c02 doesnt wreck the gun?

  • it doesnt wreck the gun but it freezes it if you shoot too fast because the liquid co2 is shot into the gun. if you get a regulator or an expansion chamber or something, it blocks out the liquid co2.

  • It can do, but on the other hand I have been running that SP8 on CO2 (& air when available) with a coiled remote hose for over 2 years and have never once froze the gun or blown a seal.....

  • Hey, what's the position of your marker loadout? I see the hopper and it seems to be positioned ABOVE the red-dot sight?!

  • its angled to the right and it looks like his elboe brings it back over the middle over the sight

  • Had an SP8 for a year now, 'tis a wonderful thing

  • nice space gun!

  • thats not bad,is that the stock board? i got the blackheart, and its awsome!

  • that is the stock board- soon to be upgraded to an ape rampage!

  • That thing is so quiet!

  • thats a beast lol

  • It has a metal frame and the outer shell is high impact plastic. It doesn't in anyway look or feel plasticy, definate feel of quality to it. The Stock trigger is adjustable but i've never bothered....

  • is it metal

  • is the stock trigger adjustable

  • you don't freeze the gun with co2 hate to be a know it all but if you shoot to fast the liquid co2 has no time to expand causing the board to have water damage = not good

  • Anti-syphon

  • Anti-syphon doesn't help to much I wouldn't recommend using c02 with any gun w/ a noid (comment for sinfulparade: just in case the response doen't go where I want it to)

  • yea use HPA its worth it, ur gonna freeze ur gun and maybe break it beyond repair

  • nice. i have an olive sp-8, but you really want HPA not co2, i used co2 with a remote coil in mine and froze my gun up bad, so i switched to HPA and it works great now

  • thats pretty cool

u might wanna get an air tank

im sure if u unload like that your co2 tank must be freezing

  • Just got a massive one to stick on my back! Not got a fill station for HPA so will still have to use co2 from time to time. The coiled remote hose helps the co2 expand so I sometimes get some frost at the bottle end but never freezes up at the gun end

  • derka

  • LOL it wouldn't suprise me it it were heavier than the real thing when it's full of paint! Got a few extas to add to it in preperation for North Vs South next week which I haven't fitted yet, QEV, 20" tactical front for freak and a Bipod, also getting a 2nd hand HPA tank off my mate.

  • its a milsim/scenario gun... they try to make them weigh as much as the real gun they simulate.

  • its not heavy, its high durabillty plastic, meaning its lightweight

  • i heard that the SP8 is real heavy

  • ya deffinatley get a QEV. QEV and an Tech T L6 bolt, i can get 1800 shots out of my ion with a 68/4500 tank

  • Been looking at the QEV, does it make stripping your ION and putting it back together again any less fiddley?

  • If you get the 360qev from smart parts, it just takes the place of the banjo fitting and all you have to do is screw it out as you would with any other banjo

  • a sp-8 is the same thing as a ion but it just has abunch of stuff on it but i get roughly 1400 shots with my ion but i have a qev hope this helps

  • 1.1l works out at 68ci so 1000 or over sounds good to me. Cheers fella!

  • how big? (45ci,68ci...) i am not sure how efficient sp-8's are but prob over like 1000 with atleast a 68ci 4500 tank sry i cant help u any more than that, other wise , nice gun!

  • dude get HPA, co2 ruins ur guns internals

  • It's top of my wish list! Any idea how many shots from a 4500psi 1.1l HPA tank?
