  • Mango - the King of all fruits. The sweetest mango on earth is called East Indian and is grown in Jamaica. There are many varieties of mangoes. There is one called "St. Julie". You can eat the skin too, they're so sweet. Then you have one called "Black Mango" or "Fine Skin" ....yum yum. Another favorite is called "Millie" which is very stringy but very delicious. Of course there is Hayden which can be very large and is fairly good, and is good for slicing. There are many others,

  • omegranate

  • I just put my 3 mango seeds which all have about 1 inch roots in pots with potting mix outside on my deck ( I live in NJ, so it gets between 87-93 usually during the day). I watered each of them pretty good with luke warm water. How often should I water them? Should I keep the water constantly moist or let it dry out a little? And how much sunlight should they see? Right now they are on a part of the deck which doesn't get direct light.

  • The round juicy mango that is not stringy but more like a peach texture is called a hayden mango..... Hawaii has them......

  • @estanciarioacima really? i never seen that type here where cud you get them

  • can mangoes grow in countries that has winter seasons?

  • @howardwilliam Mango is a tropical fruit, but they can grow indoors in pots in a green house that is heated or in your home with plenty of sun. I don't know if they will bear fruits though, but I don't see why. Remeber, they are large trees so they would need a large pot.

  • I was wondering what mango is the one that's in this video. I love these particular mangoes and because I don't know the name, I dubbed it the "peach mango." Is it by any chance an Azucar mango? They're different from any mango I've ever seen, very round and colored like a peach. I found them to be the tastiest. They're sweet, and not as pungent, like a very pure mango flavor. I don't know if that makes any sense. I would much appreciate your reponse. Thanks, in advance.

  • Hello and thank you for the useful info about the mango planting.I would also like to ask you about the beautiful flower u have (hanging) on your right while recording the clip. What is it? I am no expert but I love flowers and love planting them. This is how i actually started: planting flowers at first and them the seeds of the friuts we eat home....well I love the pink flower on the background and next to you and i would be very grateful if you can give me the name of it . Thank you !

  • Answered my question of if I need to have a certain end facing up. Thanks, Mr. Green Thumb!

  • wow this looks so cool my sister is going to try it, wish us luck :)

  • i wish i had a mango tree in my back yard

  • @yrmum812 plant one then! :D

  • err...yes one question, what happens if you open up the seed and you eat the bit inside... i mean is it high in protein?

  • @purekosovenblood Many seed have dangerous levels of vitamin A or other powerful compounds in them, so its not smart to eat the inner seeds unless you know its safe.

  • i have a mango tree =)

  • Thanks for the information. I live in Hawaii so we're surrounded by mangoes:D I cracked open the husky part of the seed and put the smooth seed in a cup of water and was waiting for it to sprout. I guess I was going at it the wrong way. Can I still plant the seed even though I've had it in a glass of water for weeks now? Thanks so much!!

  • Mangoes are never true to their parent plant. If you plant it from seed you better be ready to graft it too or you are wasting your time. You should also pull the inner seed from the husk to save a couple of weeks and to make it easier for it to sprout. Besides that will also tell you if it is a viable seed to start with. I have 25 seeds sprouting in my yard in pots because of this method and it works great. Keep them well watered and give it more nitrogen until you graft it.

  • i live in florida this winter was sooooo cold all of my tropical plants died all from seed :(

  • I suggest you pull the pulp off. I am 18 for 18 so far.

  • For a better instructional video come on over to The Mango Plant Maker.

  • So there is no need to graft these in order to bare fruit?

  • @scalisema You can get fruit either way. But grafting your new sprout to an already exist plant will bare fruit in less time.

  • I've got a couple in pots now. Will see soon enough whether they're gonna take.

  • Define 'Break it loose'...........z

  • pull the pulp off the seed. some people will have u bust open the white pit to remove the inner brown seed, but you do not have to.

  • @zardiw the white part can be broken open to reveal a brown and white seed be careful not to damage it when breaking the white part. for more information i recomend "burst seed" he is very informative ps you can use paper towels instead of a tampon
