i think his mainsheet was caught on the transom cleat ... or something. it didn't help that he lost direction when distracted by the camera boat. i would guess that this was just after a tack and that's why the sails seem trimmed at the beginning of the clip. the main is flapping because it is completely dead into the wind -- notice the direction, from a close haul to a almost beam reach and back. they all appear to weigh about 160 pounds, which would make them lega.
if the main "had" to be flapping the whole time because they were heeling too much it should have been reefed!! still with 5 crew out on the rails, bad skipper..
At first, I thought you were just trolling here. On the J24, the skipper will often keep the boat flat by making the main luff... a lot. The jenny'll take you up faster if the boat is flat than if you have both sails on and heel like hell.
However, I see they keppt the number 1 in the front. When you can't keep that boat flat, put the freaking lapper on, don't call all your friends to do the rail meat!
Aaaah poor guys, they're being destroyed here on Youtube ;)
What strikes me the most is that there are 6 guys on Tsunami (when I had a 24 we sailed with 4 or 5 guys) ....they must be very light in order to meet te J/24 weight requirements or else they are plain cheating ....doesn't really matter though, they're fucking it up anyway....

5 guys on the rail and still not sheeted in? You might start again with 6 Opti's ;)

Still not sheeted in? Do you see how much the boat is heeling...? Its sheeted, there was something else happening there.
;p lol-- I can only concur with this comment though.
