Wheather the song had substance or not. Now fast forward to today where 1 radio station clear channel brought up all those companies or forced them out of bisniess. And you have the coporate record companies buying airtime by the thousands. So today's kids who are very impressionable and who thinks that

@Blacksky17 you can get fame by having elementary ass lyrices repetitive cadence and one liners seem to be the deal. And they actually believe that these rappers and (some producers) are actually living it up. Which is not the case. Today they incorporate Fame= Money= Great. And they will call you a hater if you actually have an opinion even if you valid reasons why they are not. To end this I think kids (although they do have the internet) was not brought up on variety in terms of radio sations

Well I wouldn't call soulja Boy "music" at all. I would call it a bunch of repetive ambiant noise. Anyway I would agree with you if we had variety. However in this age wjen youhave 1 station company (clear channel) controlling 90% of the radio stations and the four labels (Sony, universial, Emi, warner) having payola and playing the same shit on the hour every hour then that becomes a problem. Back then (in the early 90's) you had a variety of indie companies who cared about the quality

Anyway, i prefer when people just straight spit HOT lyrics .. not depressings songs where they always talm bout the hood n shit and how their life was hard .. that shit is dope but it gets lame after a while . For instance, Canibus spits shit that i know 4 sure he never did in his life .. but its HOT and its sounds mega dope .. for instance : if you listen to the song 100 bars .. the shit is impossible but it just sounds dope .
