this video is old and I just stumbled on this from watching another vid of yours, talking about telling people that their wak and to go do something else with their talents, I thought you were on point with that..but you do see the inconsistency of these messages don't you? I do respect the opinion of others, but I don't have to like or tolerate crap being passed off as art, there are standards and it is by those that people can justly criticize any artist, don't go public if your easily offended
@DameTaylorTV Most of them real hip hop niggas are ol'heads or kids trying to fit in and pretend to be "mature". Them old niggas need to worry more about their kids and their legal situation more than younger dudes coming up lol
You are on the money with this one. Im on the same ish with music period. I get in a million arguments with people who are close minded to music, Then they get mad when i call them close minded, which i think is unexceptable if you are another artist or producer. Good Job on this Video
how can you mention all those rappers and not mention The Notorious BIG (ladies and gentlemen)?
I still dont like souljah boy. Its not about saying stupid things, but it's about saying nothing. If ol dirty bastard said smth stupid, at least he said smth new. Today's (soulja boy stuff) lyrics are just the same. You almost never listen a new line. Only "when you see me in the club.." stuff like that. Y'all think the same?
I couldn't have said it better Dame, It's all about appreciating the art of music and the artists who made it! stop hatin just cause you dont like it. That's crazy you said Onyx I love Onyx (SLAM!)

i already know that i'm better off on the indie route. the industry will know me but i feel that they won't feel the creativity that i put in my music.
gotta show some of the mainstream some love...i definitely dig that aston martin music song by rick ross...even though he's not a lyricist, it's still a dope track. as far as the will smith thing, he had some classics, summertime & parents just don't understand....miami was actually a laid back track too.
about the artist and the music and radio stations who were owned by various people who cared about quality. So people heard quality music in the production, lyrics and the overall of the song. Wheather the song had substance or not. Now fast forward to today where 1 radio station clear channel brought up all those companies or forced them out of bisniess. And you have the coporate record companies buying airtime by the thousands. So today's kids who are very impressionable and who thinks that
@Blacksky17 you can get fame by having elementary ass lyrices repetitive cadence and one liners seem to be the deal. And they actually believe that these rappers and (some producers) are actually living it up. Which is not the case. Today they incorporate Fame= Money= Great. And they will call you a hater if you actually have an opinion even if you valid reasons why they are not. To end this I think kids (although they do have the internet) was not brought up on variety in terms of radio sations
Well I wouldn't call soulja Boy "music" at all. I would call it a bunch of repetive ambiant noise. Anyway I would agree with you if we had variety. However in this age wjen youhave 1 station company (clear channel) controlling 90% of the radio stations and the four labels (Sony, universial, Emi, warner) having payola and playing the same shit on the hour every hour then that becomes a problem. Back then (in the early 90's) you had a variety of indie companies who cared about the quality
Anyway, i prefer when people just straight spit HOT lyrics .. not depressings songs where they always talm bout the hood n shit and how their life was hard .. that shit is dope but it gets lame after a while . For instance, Canibus spits shit that i know 4 sure he never did in his life .. but its HOT and its sounds mega dope .. for instance : if you listen to the song 100 bars .. the shit is impossible but it just sounds dope . So yeah i rpefer when a rapper spit hot lyrics
man, you nailed it, im a music producer myself, so i get the same type of comments regarding the artists i work with. everybody has an opinion and some people want to shove it down your throat, but this video makes alot of sense. people need to pay attention.
Have you herd sending shots by lil B? Dude is actually better than most ppl thinks he is i just dnt kno why he makes dumb songs, its like hes striving to be wack
i respect E-40, but i don't get why people think E-40 is dope.
