  • She is so adorable!

I'm waiting on DNA results for our blue IRN, he/she wont be ready to come home until April but I am waitng on pins and needles!

    Loved the video :)

  • @ClarissaMaria1 Thanks. :o) Congrats on your little blue one. Time will go fairly quickly.

  • is she loud?

  • @nicollettePerfect ummm...not really. Her call can be loud but overall I would not say she is overly loud. Ringies are louder than a cockatiel, but quieter than a sun conure :o)

  • @mybirdies

thanks for ur help! would it disturbe neighbours if they are outside? are they loud enough to do that?

  • @mybirdies I'll be living in an apartment soon. Will my neighbors complain about the noise?

  • @CaptinObvious1995 It depends on how tolerable to noise your neighbours are. My inside birds generally only start making noise when it is raining or when they hear me getting their fruit and veg ready. Most of the time they are fairly quiet. Giving plenty of toys and things to do helps prevent boredom.

  • @mybirdies My IRP is very sweet and has a very gentle persona. He really does not make a lot of noise. All he does is randomly shout his name and do the odd scream otherwise he is quiet. :)

  • This is what my female ringneck does when she wants a pat except the head rolloing lol!

  • @GyPsyDaNceR888 It means she wants to mate.

  • omggg incredible :D

  • Awww so pretty, what a goergrous yelllow plumage <3

  • what a gorgeous bird!

  • ITS LIKE YOUR TICKELING HER AND SHES LAUGHING

  • Do female indian ring necks do the mating dance too? because mine does this also and am just wondering if it is a female or male.

  • @mandypandy1407

I have seen a few females who does do the male heart shaped wings every now and then. How old is your ringneck?

  • @mybirdies My ring neck just turned a year old this month!!! it does at times opens up its wings and then does this thing called clucking like ur bird does where it gets down low and puts its head up... so now we think its a female haha

  • @mandypandy1407 My two female IRNS do this AAAAALLL the time in Spring. On the other hand, my male does it very rarely.

Easiest way to tell if your IRN is male or female, of course, is to wait until it's a year old and see if a ring develops :D

  • does she glow under blacklight?

  • @thecosmicgoose lol, I have no idea. :oD

  • very nice :)

  • is okay if i put a yellow one with a green one to mate?? =-*

  • @TheCarvingman Yes, you can place them together, but they may not get on. Not all birds are compatible with each other.

  • @mybirdies i decided to get his color, i think is better like that, thank you, i like your bird :)

  • i can tell its just a baby

  • Awwww she's so cute! She demands loving and clucks for it! XD

  • these parrots r so funny....mine is so misschivious....he gets angry at petty things....he is a complete foodie....indian ringnecks love food....they r so loving and adorable

  • I have a male ringneck who does exactly the same thing :)

same little growling noise too! too cute!

  • birds make great pets when tamed properly :)

  • lol my bird saw this and went crazy

  • she's like please pet me more

  • she looks like a little toy! so cute

  • @gartner10112

    hahahahaaha

  • If you rub under her wings, you are making a sexual advance. Keep petting to the head and no lower than the nape of the neck.

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

  • cute

  • she is a female and she wants to mate. find him a male partner. she needs it.

  • @unity100 I know Jasper is a girl, have said it many times and also in the description of this video and I am well aware she 'wants to mate'. For the record she has a male. Some of my birds behave like this OUTSIDE of breeding times. One hen does this all year round even though she has also a male with her.

  • @mybirdies This is not a mating sign. Instead, it is a sign of affection and love. Mine does this all the time. I used to freak out but talked to a vet and he said it was a sign of affection. Make sure you kiss your feather friend many times when she does this. I have a yellow male and blue female. Cute birds, aren't they?

  • @mybirdies Both my female ringnecks do this year round too.

  • @mybirdies Indian ringnecks behave like this all the time regardless of whether they want to mate or not. They do it because they want attention.

  • @mybirdies they calll girl birds hens?!? how insulting!

  • @nightpool23 How is calling a 'girl bird a hen' insulting? I would rather be called a hen than the male equivalent which is a cock! lol

  • Comment removed

  • @mybirdies well... you have a point lol

but i wouldy want to be named after something the we eat just voiceing my opion lov ur vids and Jaspers adorable =D

  • @unity100 when a parrot 'bonds' to its owner, they consider you as their lifetime companion and aren't interested in another bird. in the spring- mating season- they'll often lay eggs for you. animals tend to bond more deeply and have more unconditional love than most humans.

  • @unity100 Dont you mean find her a mate partner

  • @unity100 You should probably read the description before you try and lecture someone about their own animals.

  • Aww Adorable !

  • @HellFlavoured Thanks HelFlavoured, she is my sweet little girl. :o)

  • So adorable. She's a gorgeous bird. =]

  • @MrTheNicodemus Thank you very much. :o)

  • @Theluckyhotdog2 lol apologies for the confusion. There is a scene in a movie called 'Dumb and Dumber' I was quoting from. I take it you havent seen it. All good :)

  • Thanks everyone. Glad you love Jasper to!

  • @Theluckyhotdog2 Sorry, I have to correct you there 'Pretty Birdie' actually should have sticky tape all around it like that scene from 'Dumb and Dumber' :p lol. This one doesnt ;) Great video..what a beautiful little creature. Makes me miss owning parrots!

  • SO CUUUTE!

  • Adorable, he sounds like a chicken. Makes me miss my own birds.

  • Thanks for the comments everyone. :o)

pryt86, Jasper is a female Indian Ringneck.

  • wat kind of bird is that

  • @pryt86 Jasper is an lutino Indian ringneck. :o)

  • AWWW SO CUTE!! <3

  • looks like he's been smoking the good stuff!! lolz, he's so pretty!

  • ALL HAIL HYPNOBIRD

  • wow what a jasper is a beautiful bird! he is showing such unconditional love to his owner. thats how a human-bird bond should be. reminds me of my GCC and the way he shows his love. thanks for posting!

  • chocobo warkkkkk!! 8D

  • that is so super adorable, your bird is beautiful and sweet, nice to watch!

  • @megangatita

Thanks, glad you liked it. :o)

  • wow neon yellow/green! looks cool! and how come it's pupils get all tiny? my birds never do that!

  • @loverofmythology Thanks. :o) The pupils changing are a sign emotion from anger, stress or, as in this case, happy.

  • @loverofmythology When they 'Pin' their eyes, they are usually not happy. and it's a warning sign that they may bite. My ringneck did that, and he was v...a nasty biter

  • @Aquabelly, pinning can indicate any extreme emotion- excitement, anger, fear, joy- my birds will pin while eating their favorite treats. unless you are certain which emotion is causing them to pin their pupils, it's definitely safer to give them their space... been there ;-[

  • aww what a sweet pretty bird!!! Is this a parakeet?

  • @gayle2020

Thanks. :o) Yes, IRNs come under the classification of parakeet.

  • @mybirdies --IRN= Indian Ringneck????

  • @gayle2020

    Yep :o)

  • My DYH Amazon use to do that to when baby too but I walked away when he did it!!! Now he does it less

  • Your bird is so cute/beautiful! The color is gorgeous :D

  • @009wasteland

    Thanks 009wasteland, I think so to. :o)

  • @mybirdies you should walk away from her when she does it when she stops go back to her!!! Never pet the back of her only the head!!! Let me know what happens and Good Luck :-)

  • @DannyDeVitoLover

This footage was taken outside of the breeding times and she was quite young at the time. She continually behaved in this manner for over a year. EVERY time I went near her, she behaved like this, even if I did not touch her. If I walked away from her every time she did this, I would not have a tame ringie any more.

I have young birds that behave in this fashion, (although not quite so 'full on'), even at the age of just a few months old.

  • What she is doing is the mating call you are getting her more in to it!!! You teasing her!!!

  • @DannyDeVitoLover

I fully understand she was coming into breeding mode. I have been keeping and breeding birds for some time. What should I do? She is my pet, should Ignore her and not pay her any attention just because she is in breeding mode?? Do you stop petting a cat or dog when they are in season?? Afterall, any type of physical contact could be taken as teasing to any animal in season!

  • wait i mean nawwww adorable

  • nah aborable

  • tath's a crazy yellow

  • What a muffin!

  • hahahaha lmao! what a cool bird!

  • @gelkusum

    Thanks gelkusum. :o)

  • XD monkey sounds

  • @ZARYN007

    Hahahaa.

  • What a pretty bird! What kind of bird is he?

  • @barb2birds

Thanks, Jasper is an Lutino coloured Indian Ringneck. :o)

  • @barb2birds

    Thanks!

Jasper is a female Lutino Indian Ringneck.

The males have a ring around the neck when matured. :o)

  • hahaha it loves the scratching

  • ewww it looks like its having a seizure! and the pupils are SCARY

  • Yeah, you can tell he loves you cause of that laughing like noise he's making. :) My bird did that with me all the time, and fluffed up like that.

  • hahaha...rubber chicken...LOL :oP

    Thanks frighteningbolt. :o)

awww...that is so sweet, BabyKittyBird. Should get a video of your parrotlet saying "scratch" when he watches this video. Would be cool to see.

  • That is the liveliest rubber chicken I have ever seen! XD j/k How adorable!

  • I like the bird "happy noises". It makes me giggle

  • when you were saying 'scratch' my parrotlet was saying it too. When he hears this video he talks up a storm lol

  • @BabyKittyBirdie How cool, that is too sweet.

  • EXTREMELY LOVING MOOD !!!!!!!!

  • my rosella lets me do this sometimes to her :]] and she makes weird chicken noises too!

  • @annbomb cool. :o)

  • Lol xD The eyes XDD

  • It looks like a chicken xD so sweet!

  • That bird is being sexually stimulated. That's their horny pose. Not a good idea to pet them when they are like that.

  • @callisto9 very true

  • i wish my little ringneck would as playful like jasper :)

  • aww I wish I got petted like that lol

  • OMG the bird suddenly looks possessed w/those eyes lol!

  • she is a female in heat asking for mating not enjoying only scratching in my opinion thats not nice for here i see only videos of single Latino if u have one for couple it well be nice , but u have nice healthy bird .

  • @y1A1 so true

  • @y1A1 If you check your facts, you will find out that ringnecks make this gesture several times a day to receive affections. I have a pair of ringneck. and they always do this when they see me.

  • @MrDefq sorry you said a pair and they did this means the adult male do so??? me i have 4 pairs of ring neck hand fed by me one female react to me like this and all single females take this posture in response to dancing singing adult male , i have no objection to pet parrots like that but i don't like petting them single , its not normal for them.. thanx for response .....with all my respect and appreciation.

  • Oh my god the pupils are so freaky xD I love it

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE

    LOL thanks :o)

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE what is this kind of bird

  • @darkmania122

    Lutino Indian Ringneck

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE Can't speak for all the parrots, but I know Indian ringnecks can control the size of their pupils. It is a sign of affection.

  • @MrDefq its also a sign of anger, you just need to be aware of there mood.

  • That's sorta creepy, but I didn't realize birds let you pat them. I have a cockatiel, and he lets me give him a scratch on the necka and round the back, but I thought he was just a weird exception.

Also, whys your birds eyes keep dilating then retracting?

  • @KidsWithGuns1992 But he is very beautiful, your bird.

  • @KidsWithGuns1992

Hand raised or tame birds accept pats unlike most aviary or wild birds,

Eyes pin as a sign of emotion, depending on the situation it could be happy/excited or angry. Obviously in this case, she is happy! :o)

  • how can you tell if its a female or male?

  • @likitty20 From about the age of 2-3 yrs old, males develop a black ring around the neck, females don't. :o)

Under 2 it's a 'guessing' game as neither birds do not display the ring. DNA or surgical sexing is the only way. Some people say they can guess a birds sex by behaviour but I have personally seen a mature male, (with ring), display like a hen towards another bird.

  • Are you fing kidding. Freaking damn it that's cute

  • pretty bird! i hate it when they do that with their eyes though. My dads parrots would do this and it would always freak me out LOL

  • A beautiful bird, to be sure. But a little creepy, when you think about what the bird is actually getting out of that... ahem... "stimulation". :)

  • With that posture, I'd say Jasper is a female in a breeding mood!

    Beautiful!

  • so cute an lovely :-)

  • Ты уверен что это он, а не она?:)

  • what a beautiful bird! must be amazing having a strong bond with a bird like that! adorable.

  • He trusts you completely, beautiful little bird.

  • my ring neck just loves this as well.

but i am the only person in my house hold who she will let do this

  • lol...

  • Jasper is SO CUTE!

Please give him a smooch for me!

    <3

  • Done!! ;oD

  • Is it possible for a young male to exhibit this behaviour?

I still have hope for my little guy ^^

  • From what I understand, yes males & females can display the same behaviour when they are young.

It is a 'hit and miss' to try and judge what sex a bird under 18 months old is by behaviour, shape of head, etc. :o)

  • That bird is SO HAPPY!

  • do they attatch 2 one person and r mean to evry 1 else?

  • her feathers seem so soft and smooth!

  • I have a Lutino female too :)

When she first started doing that I thought to myself "Wtf is wrong with her"?

Now I love giving her a scratch, but shes looking abit scruffy lately

  • They are lovely aren't they?

Haha, yeah, it's a bit like, "whoa what are you doing????" lol

Sounds like yours could be going through a moult?

  • cutey bird ^^ i love parrots!

  • Mine is about 2 y old. Is female i hink so and she was doing that all the time since i got it and she was about 6 month old.

That mean she is ready.... ?? :))

  • Yeah, I think that is more of a "mating" reaction you are seeing there. LOL

  • mine dosent doo that and howw old is urs?? LOL mine in quiet most of the time!! :]

  • Mine does the same! In blue color

  • lol

  • that's is SO CUTE!

  • Glad you like her. :o)

  • she is so beautiful!!yellows my fave color!omg i think im gonna die she is just beautifulllllllll!!

  • Thanx peanutbuttersista. :o)

  • Jasper is female, correct?

  • She sure is. :)

  • Thanks.....she is a real attention seeker :)

  • so pretty! Love those pinning eyes!

  • i like him xD ive never seen a bird with such beutiful and magnifacint color

  • Thanks everyone for the lovely comments.

lol dyzzispell, I have not seen chocobo from the video game, must check it out.

Thanks birdiemom, I have a few more than Jasper here to. :D

  • your birds are just adorable. I want to take them home but I already have 4!

    Enjoy them

  • Wow, he totally looks like a chocobo! (from the Final Fantasy video games)

    He's really cute.

  • aww wat a cutie

  • looks so.... round and smoooth!

  • Jasper is a female, she is around 2.5 yrs now, (was 2 when video was taken).

Jasper was handraised by me, so she is a tame bird. :)

  • How did jasper let you do these things :O

How old is he? (im Hungarian so i have no idea Jasper is male or female name. I think male)

  • lol, stop tickling, your making her laugh =-)

  • lol, yes it does seem like that. :)

  • gosh i wish my bird will let me touch him even though he is spoilt rotten with bird stuff.

  • Is your bird tame? Some birds don't like the touchy feely stuff and would rather be near than cuddley. :)

  • what a flirt of a bird lol^^

  • lol yes she is. :P

  • wow! I noticed Jasper's eyes dialate, I can't believe the eye action that is going on..what a cutie!
