Not long after that, my manager started openly criticizing her wether she was present, or not. Then, he started giving her these incredibly long list of things to do, in a impossible amount of time. Even with all of that over her head, she still managed to keep her job for a whole year.

Not long after they butted heads, she started getting written up for the littlest shit, until she was fired. She was an exceptional worker, & you could always tell when she had worked, cause you would walk in, & she had everything done in just her 1st 3 hrs of her shift.

The quality of your position in the store, is based entirely on your ability to kiss managements ass, & has little, or nothing to do with contributions. I work in the Bky at my store, where my department manager is a complete idiot. He, & this girl who used to work back there somehow found themselves at odds.

This shit is all to fucking true. Now that you covered the customers, please allow me to enlighten everyone on the managers. These people are two-faced, inconsiderate, & believe everyone below them in the chain of command is expendable. And they don't hesitate to make you feel completely demoralized when you screw up.

I had such a bad experience working for Safeway first of all when I was pregnet I had a hard time towards the end i was NEVER GIVEN A CHAIR I asked for one they refused it to me. when i came back from maternity leave all i got was like 4 - 10 hours a week

I thought that was against the health code for a grocery store not to have a public restroom, not to mention a possible violation of the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991 If a handicap person wanted to use the restroom and you didn't provide the accommodation for that person, that person could sue Safeway for hundreds possibly thousands under 42 USC 2000 (e) Civil Rights ADA. It is not your fault it is the higher ups for allowing these.

lol im in seattle too one of my friend's said he was taking the 21 metro bus home and this was late at night too. He was on the bus and this homeless dude, the driver wouldn't let him in cause he had no money so the bum got on anyways took a shit and left and everyone on the bus ended up getting a free ride.

NO-You have to be 19, and you must start as a courtesy clerk.

Actually, you only need to be 18 for liability reasons. Some stores make you start out as a courtesy clerk no matter what, but it really depends on how quickly they need the position filled. BUT, at 16, you really can only be a courtesy clerk.

Yes, most of the departments in Safeway (Grocery, Produce, etc.) require you to be 18+ because you must be able to work the bailer and powerjack/forklift which requires you to be 18 to use. And that is not Safeway, that is labour laws pertaining to machinery use.

All i know is that you should NEVER work at customer service, when i did work at that every customer that come up to me i instantly hated them for everything like for the Vietnam War or other random stuff. They always seem stupid they are okay when you meet them outside work but when you doing customer service they are just plain annoying and stupid.
