Alanis Morissette & Matchbox Twenty at Madison Square Garden

I actually went to this concert it was on valentine day and it was my first time going to a concert it was hot. Please tell me what was the first band name that started the opening. They were good.

Also from what I could tell, she was rocking the audience way better than MB20. I went to the L.A. show Staples Center. I'm from L.A. and she rocked!

The Fray, Alanis has lost popularity because she has not catered to mainstream tastes like MB20 does. Don't get me wrong, I love MB20, but Alanis is a different type of artist, and MB20 does not have the type of melodies or lyrics that Alanis has. Most people judge Alanis based on Jagged Little Pill, but Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie was her best work, and the most ignored. Besides that she has a loyal fanbase, we're with her 100%

I dont understand why people would stand up. First off, Alanis, was (maybe not now) way bigger than Matxhbox 20. They should be opening for her.. I mean the woman has seven grammies for fuck sakes. Not to mention she is in the top 10 for all time selling cds.. Therefore, people should be giving her the respect she deserves by standing. I am going to see her in Toronto. I will be standing for sure and I know that the rest of us CANADIANS will too.

oh yeah and dont worry also because in canada she'll probably have a few more fans, and she'll get the respect she deserves. I dont know a lot of people who like MB20, but I know a lot of people who love alanis.

Maybe I can interject a little.... I've loved MB20 before I knew who Alanis was. That's just me, but I saw the first concert that MB20 had this tour in Hollywood, FL, and when I found out that Alanis was a special guest, which is totally MORE clout so to speak than "opening" for them. DURH~

I suggest you read the lyrics to one of alanis's songs. Perferably, one from suppossed fomer infactuation junkie. Unlike Matchbox 2o, who write juvinal relationship songs, alanis writes from the heart. Also, check out how many records alanis has sold in comparison to Matchbox twenty, the numbers dont lie.. Dont get me wrong, I like Matchbox twently, just in comparison to alanis there much like the backstreet boys..

I was at this concert on Valentines day (last thurs) at MSG it was amazing

VERY few people stood at the Garden and it made me SO upset! In fact some lady actually told me to sit down during Alanis' set! I went only for Alanis and she didn't really get the respect that she deserves... at least not from my boring section! She was beyond amazing though and her song choices were brilliant!

I was in AC last night--- and everyone in the front stood (because it was standing room/GA LOL)!!! She was freakin' awesome!!! And she definitely deserves for the crowd to stand for her!!!!!!!
