Yes, everyone has a right to a opinion, If people want to vote Ted Nugent as a president, they can, but calling him a draft dodger is a rather mean comment, which would definitely start an argument. I saw Ted open for Judas Priest in Germany and he was awespme. You'd think maybe a whole band like JP would dominate but Ted kicked ass. He is def 1 of mine top 5 performers ever. His hunting shows, his gigs, his politics. He see's things for what they are. He is def a All American dude. In Germany he asked the crowd how many were German. They screamed. He told them to get the fuck outts here, this is for Americans only. Man he had the balls of a bull. It's no wonder there wasn't a riot.

Why all the "deep thinking criticism" about Ted and this song?

Everyone hates Ted, but here, he writes a thrilling song/story, back in what 76? with the foresight to stand up for a certain group and make a valid point yet celebrating the NA idea of a Great White Buffalo as the messiah type figure in a portion NA beliefs.

Why the criticism? The fact he took the subject upon himself, as a white man, shouldn't be harped on, but encouraged..especially the subject of NA/USA relations/histry.

@jpc675 The best part about this particular version is this is IN BUFFALO haha, Hamburg is 10 minutes outside of Buffalo NY. I haven't been home in about 8 years but every time I do go I hit the Erie County Fair which is where this show is. Great upload ScoobieNewBee.

The song's themes are controversial in that the song glorifies the spiritual life of Natv Americans and their rspect for the environment ("the Indians needed food and some skins for a roof, they only took what they needed, millions of buffalo were the proof") while demonstrating profound criticism for the greedy "White dogs" who "couldn't see past the billfold" and "wanted all the buffalo dead". Just these few lines promote environmentalism and decry the exploitative ways of the White men.
