Similarities between Trent and Mel Gibson: Both like to paint their faces and run around a stage screaming like madmen. Both have "a thing" for torture. Both have had alcohol problems in the past. Both are recluses that rarely see the light of day. Both are obsessed with violence. Both have videos out featuring the thunderdome. Both think the aliens are going to arrive at any moment. Both believe that "the end is nigh". Both of their careers are down the toilet. Both don't know how to sing.
Yes it was, actually there was a guy in front of me that I heard talking about how this song is his favourite. After he mentioned it I was hoping they would play it, but they didn't, oh well, good thing there's YouTube (:
i was there at the Atlanta concert. i don't remember Right Where it Belongs. but then again i might have just been too mesmerized by the fact that Trent was in the same room. now i gotta go look at the set list. thanks a lot. jeez.
It's a crazy set list. But they start off with at least 5 tracks off the Slip. Then they get into old hits like Closer, Head Like a Hole, Wish. Next 3-4 tracks from Ghosts. Then onto Year Zero Survivalism, Great Destroyer, Vessel etc. Followed by Hand that Feeds, Only. And from thereon I lost track but it was a good mix of old and new.
Cool thing with this video is that all of the distortion and rainbows that you see on the video screen behind the band really wasn't there. The screen was all white. The camera picked it up.... very trippy.
You know I was wondering about that. Because I was thinking to myself I didn't see a lighting set up like that at the Toronto show when he played Great Destroyer. Too cool. Jeez even the visuals where subliminal.
I was hoping to see the BSOD there towards the end... oh well...

Awesome Video,
I have just linked to it from a comment on the blog Lights In The Sky: Cheap Mobile Phone Footage Reveals All
(I can't post a link to the comment but if you google for "bawley music blog" you should find it.)
I have to see this show.

I was there! Me and my friends only had one thing to say about this song/performance in general. "Fucking amazing."
NIN continues to be THE best live band I've ever heard!
