  • will it work for both CF cards type I & type II?

  • Hi man ! I've got same MMC to CF adapter then when I plug it on motherboard my device doesn't detect inserted memory ! but when I check the adapter the small LED on it light on !

Whats your trick man to solve my problem ?

    thanks dude !

  • this can be for the 4g ipod touch?

  • @danielRasta100

This is for converting from HDD to flash memory. The ipod touch already has flash memory (as far as I know), so it would be pointless. So in short: no you can't.

  • Whoa, you have a YouTube channel xD? Dude, iFlash rocks! I love it and I'm using it right now! BTW, I was wondering of you could recommended a good replacement battery for an iPod video 5g? In the world of crappy Chinese knock offs, it's hard to tell what's good and what's not.

  • I ordered my Iflash adapter 18 days ago and it has still not arrived. anyone else had this problem?

  • just installed 4gb card into ex-30gb ipod which falls into "recovery mode" cycle. i can see/read/write cf from my mac but ipod still try to "recover". is it ok?

  • how to fucked up ur ipod

  • Hey, you still selling this card adapter???

  • @ShaliakhYeshai

There are 32GB cards you know, and it runs on 3.7V.

  • Beautiful hands :)

  • how can people odnt get it, imagine these: hd failed is no more working, ipod hd cost 180 usd, so if you dont want the same problem but a few months later, you just install a new cf card that wont fail y you hd crash the earth!!!

  • im gonna do this simply b/c the HD in the ipod video sucks and so does the battery.

  • why would someone buy a 160gb ipod and mod it to a compact flash 4gb drive? Has anyone ever moded the ipod to say a 320 external HD? THAT would be cool! should be easy to do. constant 5v stream (I assume ipod runs on a 5v stream)

  • ShaliakhYeshai holy shit im working on a mod like that right now! i actually came to this video for help. i got a zif to female usb adapter made, but i cant get itunes to restore it, so i need to put the firmware on manually. if anyone has done the compact flash mod please pm me so u can help! i need you to plug ur cf card after u restored it into your computer and clone it and send the clone to me. lol any help would be appreciated

  • umm thats the ipod video the highest gb it had was 80gb ,, but ye it is dumb,, but think about iit if yu drop a hard drive ipod,, yur screwed,, when the hardrive fucks up yu need to buy a new one ,,100 bux at least,, but the worst thing that can happen ere is the mem card falls out,, and yu can buy more as well altho its a bitch changing them often if yu need too,,

  • holy crap $69.99 for the 32 gig A-Data CF card @ newegg, last time i checked it was $79.99, I hope im not annoying anyone like this by the price updates, how low could it go

  • $92.99 now this is awesome

  • damn, so it's vapourware? with the advent of cheap sd cards I think compact flash is slowly being pushed out of the mainstream market of memorycards. And I've read somewhere that an sd to compact flash adaptors won't work on ipods.

  • SD to CF adaptors do actually work - I have tried one out.

I have not tested any of the new SDHC to CF adaptors - I do not see why they would not work, but until it is tested you never know!!!

  • What tipe of compact card are compatibles couse i do the mod but itunes not recognize the ipod and the pc just try to format the new disk but nothing happens when i say yes to the format window. i just tried whit a 16gb kingston elite pro

  • have you tried the 64gb compact flash card from microdia yet? although I'm skeptical it will work because it's compact flash type I and it doesn't say 'ATA Compatible' on the specifications. What about the samsung 64gb? or it hasn't come out in the market yet?

  • The Samsung and Microdia look like Vapourware.

Not seen either and my emails to the marketing department of Microdia are not even replied to.

  • do u have an adaptor for ipod photo 4G?. cus i dont got an ipod video.

  • My Video iPod started having the click of death a week or so ago. Ordered your adapter and I'm completely satisfied it.

Used the installation video and in 5 minutes my iPod was restored and working using a 4GB CF card I had! I'm stoked!!!

It runs much faster than it did with the HD, and from what I've read it will use less battery power as well. But even better, I can now go jogging with it.

So I wanted to give you the kudos you deserve!

Arrived quickly in the mail too.

    Thanks Tarkan.

  • Yes it says restore iPod.

I have published my 32Gb Compact Flash Ipod article on my website.

  • the 32 gig CF card on newegg is now 102 bucks its comin down

  • what did that iPod say at 4:49, is it saying you need to restore the ipod

  • Yes, restore iPod. On my website I have published my 32GB compact flash iPod article.

  • You are kind of the only game in town when it comes to upgrading a video ipod with flash I guess. Good times. In America, that 20 Pounds costs us a lot more!

  • Your battery analysis is very respectable on your website. I've never seen it done like that before. I just got a CF adapter for my older iPod and will buy yours for my bro's iPod when his HDD goes bad.

  • Flash memory is a superior technology but the size of 16GB is great for mp3's but no movies.

  • Well my 30gb hard drive became faulty, and for the price of a new hard drive I could use the adaptor and a 16GB CF card to give me an ipod which has longer battery life and without the mechanical failure of a hard drive.

  • Ite, i guess i can excuse me now...

    NO!!!

But how did you do to break this! i mean unless

    you hit it?

  • it would be cool if a company like SanDisk made a 30 gig CF card b/c my video ipod is 30 gigs id like to maybe replace the HD in it with CF memory and a new battery and maybe ill get better battery life

  • Well A-Data sell a 32GB CF. Newegg have got it on sale for $149.99

  • thats cool whats a 30 gig ipod HD cost 15,000 maybe 149.99 is better than that anf ypu prob actually get 30 gigs even formatted, i think they should make cards so you are able to use the advertised size and not a smaller amount

  • the price of that card you mentioned its $130 now, gee at this rate ill get it b4 i know it lol

  • thats awesome BTW the price is a little lower than that now and this is an awesome hack, hey apple face it hard drives sre for computers not ipods flash memory is for mp3 players/ipods b/c flash memory is more battery friendly than hard drives and hard drives will eventually fail b/c of moving parts but thats not saying flash memory wong but its a hell of a lot more reliable than a hard drive

  • I have a 32Gb card on it's way to me, I will be posting a write-up (install and use) on my site. Tarkan

  • that sounds good, ive actually opened my ipod once with a pocket knife to try to reset the battery meter i was hoping that would reset it but all it did was reset the time

  • wow, sounds like a plan.

  • you replace a 80 gb hard drive for a compact flash one that doest let you change the card and is maximum like 8 gb? i dont get it.

I know it's simple but what's the point?

  • Less power, less heat, no moving parts, etc.
