To kill him easier have the aggression paradigm COM/RAV/COM and stagger it but make regular combat clinic breaks but keep up his stagger then once he is staggerred use army of one ability or sazh's or hopes equivalent then 999.99% stagger him fairly easily then switsh to aggression then you should do 99999 each hit. If done properly you should be able to kill it in 5 minutes and you probably wont need to buy cherubs crown Thumbs up this to help people

just swap between combat clinic safe subversion and tri disaster

i killed within 2 staggers, way too easy

the 2nd orphan battle is a joke

Whats ur equiptment?, for lightning, i have 10000~ hp, 2000~str and who cares b out magic, i have adamant bangle consieurs catalog and power glove, all stared, then sahz wit 1200~ str, and 9000~ hp, a diamond bangle, gtetra tiara, and a speed sash, all almost stared, and then snow, he has 1200~ hp, 1800~ str and 2 dbangles, with a energy sash, all stared, paradigms r com/com/com, rav/rav.rav, syn/syn/syn, med/med/med, sen/sen/sen/ and syn/sab/sab, all in order for lightining, snow, sahz, good?

Orphan absolutely sucks once you start casting bio/poison, I had him down to half HP before the first stagger.

For some reason, I found Cid Raines to be the hardest boss in the game (excluding sidequest monsters, obviously).

How do you stop him from going to his "dark" state? I can never seem to survive his "Dark" state when he goes on a mad death rampage and keeps 1-hit KO-ing my characters.

@212809 The only character I used were Vanille, Light and Hope. SAB/MED/MED, MED/MED/MED and MED/SEN/MED. You start up with MED/MED/MED let him do his "2% health remaining" attack then heal back up. Switch to SAB/MED/MED, You must POISON him. Once poisoned He'll loose 10,000 HP/sec. When he's poisoned, switch back to MED/MED/MED and tank until poison takes off. Repoison him... Rince and Repeat. May use the SEN to take the death spell for you then use phenix down

When he's using the Light form, it has a white orb healing him periodically, when he's in darkness, that orb damages you.

Wow, MasterLL makes it look so easy! But, I have a question, so I know that you have to battle the pope-man before Orphan, but is there like a save option in between? Or like if you die battling Orphan, can you save or something? Because it wouod be pretty unfair if you had battle two big, hard bosses, and not being able to save.

you can save before the fight but not in between, and there's 3 forms of this boss.  You can retry the boss you die too though.

I don't think it's definite, that attack may cause a 1-hit KO. I thought it was bluff, but one of the times he killed Fang (my main) with it, and she had >5000 HP at that time

Finally beat the bastard. When he gets down to his last million it gets propper frantic n nerve racking knowing he can use merciless judgement at any point. Switching between combat clinic n relentless assault pretty much every 15 seconds at one point.

But yea masterLL is just sick at this fight. Makes it look so easy.

Ahhh I just beat this game and now I'm feeling EMO! lol. Amazing game, not as good as Heavy Rain or Mass Effect 2 but it's in it's own league. Honestly I didn't think I would play another great FF game nevermind a great JRPG. The Archylte Steppe could possibly be the greatest thing in gaming ever! My faith in Square Enix is restored, can't wait for more FF.

P.S I still can't beat almost all of the A Rank missions lol... :( !!!

This boss just ruined the game for me. I have all my stats maxed, 2000 strength on lightning, 30% physical/magic resistance on all 3 characters, over 10,000 hp on all characters and still this guy beats me every time. He just uses his hammer and gets rid of all but 100 hp off of everyone then finishes me, not to mention it takes 10 minutes just to get 10% of his hp down, the guy in this video must be cheating. Fuck, played for 80 hours for absolutely fucking nothing!

@MrShoeWC3 Ok nvm I beat him... I forgot about my dispel tech, and you gotta be fast to heal yourself right after he uses his hammer (it's like a demi). What a pain in the ass, it feels as if level'ing up doesn't do much in this game, I was still struggling till the very end. Oh well it's a very polished and well done game, not as good as FF7/10 but very good.

u are doing something wrong. i beat this guy on first try with all characters at ~6000 hp without any resistance. the "hammer" attack brings you from max hp to 100, no matter how high your max hp is. As soon as he uses the ability hammer your L1 button and switch to a 2 or even 3 healer setting as fast as possible.

For people who have problem fighting him.

Main: Vanille uses Debuff staff+3 resist death

Fang: with Sen

lighting: with Cura

Make sure you have 3+ TP before fight start and use Libra item on boss instead of TP, so you can use Dispelga in case your whole team get hit with unable to cast magic from Torment claw. When it turns to darkness, use combat clinic. Make sure everyone status clean. Switch to Sab/Sen(Fang)/Med(Light) and spam poison again then don't ever attack him.

You can do it without grinding even the slightest. The best recommendation I can make is to have a paradigm with two level 4 medics in it.

Eh, first two times it was hard, but when i figured out how to pwn him in one break it became waaaay 2 easy. Just use Light/Fang/Hope setup, buff up, debuff him, make a Heal/Heal/Heal setup to restore after his Judgement attack and lay waste :D Make sure to use Lights ultimate attack when he breaks to get him to 999 fast. Use Com/Com/Rav and kill it :P (Make sure he has deprotect/deshell and the one that lowers elemental resistance on).

Tri-disaster(rav, rav, rav) is amazing when he switches to consumate darkness. Malevolence (rav, rav, syn) as well if you're desperate to keep the buffs up.

It's probably best if you have some painkillers and some mallets in your inventory so you don't waste time removing pain or fog from your allies.

When the status afflictions start rolling around get him to stagger as fast as you can with tri disaster. Then switch to strike team (com, com, syn)

I must say this is the only part where it kinda sucks that your health is automatically healed at the beginning of each battle, the challenge of fighting three end bosses without restore would be awesome, it does look hardish but I wish square enix would make one of their final bosses on a game REALLY SUPER hard, like omega or ultima weapon hard.
