I lived fairly self sufficiently in the mountains in California for almost 7 years. With a wife, 3 children, 7 dogs, 14 cats, 2 goats, 6 chickens and a parakeet. No neighbors. 9 miles from the nearest small town, population 107. It won't matter this time around where you are I don't think. Maybe Alaska. I thought of New Zealand but it wouldn't be as good for me as somewhere USA. God's Country? Northern Idaho? Montana? Northern Wyoming? Sorry, I am pessimistic about the future around here.
