After listening to many many many different versions of this tune, I must say, this is my favourite!!! Huzzah!!! And the piratical-ness just makes it all the more spiffing! =D
It is a sad lament the we (the British) have to get good music via the States (no offence). The Irish have the best music in the world but us that live a couple of hundred miles away have to trawl the net to find it!
@elventelerinpirate She had glass-green eyes and a look so shy and a smile like the rose in June, and she sang so sweet, what a lov-a-ly treat as she lilted an Irish tune! At the landlord's dance I was in a trance as she whirled with the boys of the town, and it broke my heart just to be apart from the Star of the County Down...
Most versions I've seen are slower, but this one clips along quite nicely!

A nice version, though the bodhran sounds overly tight. Thanks for posting.

Nice job on the performance, but would've been better with that squeezebox along with the guitar. ;)

@Kinravip Singing pirates should make anyone happy :) They certainly please me :D
I know several versions of this song, but the Blades sing a verse that's new to me. Could you post the lyrics they use? Thanks much! :D
