HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES (27th March) to the late Sweet Inspiration - SYLVIA SHEMWELL...she may be sadly gone but we will never forget her..Your Works Will Speak For You,Sylvia. Thanx... Rest Easy with the Lord.
I only recently found out this great talent is not with us. This is a early release which was good but I believe the songs that really demonstrated her talent was the album with Hot Butterfly. This album really showed her vocal range.
Sylvia will be sadly missed. She was a GREAT talent and had a beautiful voice .God Bless you Sylvia and thank you for the wonderful music on behalf of all the Elvis fans all over the world. May your Soul Rest In Peace. I love you and will miss you immensly.
Thanks for posting this great tune!... kind of like sister Judy Clay's Scepter output but a little more "pop"-friendly.....Could you please post the flip?
Also, anyone know if this is available on (legit) CD anywhere?
Sylvia recorded this in 1963!! All of the women associated with The Sweet Inspirations recorded as demo singers in the 60s. Sylvia's gospel soaked contralto was integral to the sound of the group and she really, really derserves more credit as a FORMIDABLE talent. Her voice is simply beautiful with an incredible raaaange. You MUST hear her on "Wishes & Dishes" from their Stax album her performance throughout is sublime and pure gospel soul at its FINEST!!!
I agree! Check out my page to see Sylvia's great-grandaughter, Nia Holloway. She is also the grand daughter of the legendary Loleatta Holloway. What a combination huh? The legacy continues!
This is a a great song!!Sylvia is among the top tier of vocalist's deserves to be recognize.Thank you for posting this so much ,what year did she record ,who is on bkgrd, who signed her ??

Thank you for posting this track!
I never heard this tune, but I've heard Sylvia sing in person many, many times, and she could blow the socks off many well known artists.
She is greatly missed.
The Sweet Inspirations still love Sylvia.
