you really are incredibly lucky to own this emg, i would do anything just for the soundbox, i am currently making a machine using a mk 9 horn with 2 spring garrad motor and hmv 511 tonearm but i just need a decent soundbox! i will post a video when it is done, i am also buying a hmv model 31 which was made for sound quality and is basically a poor mans emg but it will fit a emg horn on it so it will be fun to experiment comparing the original metal horn to the emg and it to the homemade machine!
@kirtley2010 Hi Alex, It is a very nice machine, your right I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to buy it. The EMG sound boxes are very expensive, I have the two and four spring versions. they sound pretty much the same. Good luck with your machine I look forward to seeing it in action. Regards Marcel
@Gypsymojo marcel, just do it slowly and steadily over a couple of weeks or even less and it will be fine, carefuly use a wallpaper steamer whilst the horn is hanging upside down by the cast metal part and steam the place where it has sagged
@Gypsymojo possibly try hanging it upside down and steaming it, that might work or force it back into shape but i dont know if it is worth it with an emg horn and idont know if it ill damage it as i have never seen or touched an emg horn

Ian Maxted of London told me you can vaporize water into the horn untill its soft, that way you can fix any sagging... then let dry again.
worst thing that can happen is you lose the inner paper layer !
