My PS3 died on me... not sure if it was the bluray diode, or if it just got way to hot. I sent it back with my walmart product care plan insurance. They said they couldn't fix it, so they sent me a check for $418 bucks, which I decided to put towards a used road bicycle as a back up to my racing bicycle! THANKS SONY! or I mean Walmart! HAHA!!! PSN still need more features if they want to compete with XBOX live. Can you play the backup movies/videos on PC/PSP? whats the file format? They need to add ability to create/upload own avatar, the default ones are getting old and outdated. They also need to add the option to play your own music as your playing the game. Would be nice to send a voice/video message to someone as well.

my PS3 is broken, the infamous flashing red light. its my second PS3 and its well ventilated so i was just wondering what you guys think the typical shelf life is for PS3's. i think 2-3 years {at the most}.

Apparently you have never opened a PS3 or had this problem... it's a red light.. there are no yellow lights in the PS3... btw mine lasted 2 1/2 yrs. before I had this mishap... But Sony's turnaround for replacement is AWESOME!!!! 09-10 is for PS3... 'nuff said
