This song brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it. It was actually a hit. It broke into the top 40. I agree about the regret you have, when you lose someone. Did you do enough to hold on to them? Should you have?
@cb800808 Hand to god it's my actual last name. Apparently it's the equivalent of Smith or Jones in some areas of Italy. None the less...I got a lot of jokes from friends of mine who were Jewish when I was in Uni.
just a beautiful song by an incredible versatille artist...from, stuff, with Dan, David Foster, and the blues greats.... the docia doesn't end with this true genius! I would have love to see this guy in concert..this song brings tears to my eyes..it just shows that a song doesn't have to be a big seller to be a great song!
Losing someone you love and living the regret that you didn't do more to keep that person in your life....... We've all been there. Boz and his beautiful voice told us how it really feels! He is so talented and yet under rated! Saw him in concert a couple of weeks ago, he's still got it! He just gets better and better!! And he still looks GOOD, ladies!! I'm a long time fan, I absolutely love every thing about Boz Scaggs!
Boz Scaggs, one of the most underrated singers. Love his voice. Once you hear his voice you know it is him. Oh and it doesn't hurt that his song is very very good also. Love this song when I was in HS.
I'm 31 years old and I've heard lots of Boz Scaggs songs but NEVER knew who did them because I don't hear them very often any more. I heard Lido Shuffle in the grocery store 2 days ago but couldn't remember any of the words and spent a lot of time yesterday trying to find it by googling "whoa oh oh oh, oh, oh" and thinking chicago or someone did it. It was really bothering me. Finally, I got lucky and have found other long lost songs that the elusive (to me) Mr. Scaggs has done. Hooray.
What a great song...Reminds me of sitting outside late at night in the summer of 87 or 88 and being with her...my first love..someone long gone now but oh the memories live on forever...thank god for the memories and the music of the 80s....
Ugh, David Foster did not write this song. Jason Scheff of Chicago wrote it. Maybe, he arranged it, but highly doubtful. This song was supposed to be sung by Peter Cetera, but he passed on it for some reason. I've heard a recording of this song done by Jason Scheff done much later and it was awesome.
(continuation of the comment below)... we would live happily ever after : )) Well, saw him I did, along with his wife and kid. I went home, curled on my bed and cried my eyes out. Then this song came on the radio. Never heard of it before but I listened to the lyrics and it just fits. It described exactly how I feel. It's one of my favourite songs ever since. I'm married now to a wonderful man and I couldn't be happier. I guess everything happens for a reason. Someone else was in store for me,
You know those times when you're feeling either happy or sad etc and then a song comes on the radio describing exactly how you feel? I first heard this song in 2004. I was madly but secretly in loved with a guy whom I haven't seen for 5 years and haven't spoken to for 10 years! Been in loved with him since we were 12. I was 23 at that time, just graduated from college, went back to my home town after 5 years hoping I would get a glimpse of him (and dreaming he would tell me he loves me too and
absolutely love not only this song but so many by him, they bring back so many m memories from my teenage years.....love look what you've done to me, one of his best!!
I used to have a lot of his stuff on cassette. Reminds me of that transition from graduating from Attica High School in New York to being in the navy and living in San Diego, California. Some good music for sure. Seeing him in September.
Yes, I do think about you all the time. Especially, when I'm working in places like Haiti and Afghanistan. I love you, and I always will. There will never be another love like yours. I wish you soooo much Happiness and Joy, and I am gratefull for our moments.
This is one of my favorite songs, I sing it like everyday when I get home from school. XD I wasn't born in the 80s but I have to admit that today's music is trash when compared to these. Music about lovers and stuff were sang mostly by adults. Nowadays, artists below 18 write and sing songs about love-making. It's just getting worse and worse.
Can't say I care for this song too much. Boz is moving too far away from his roots here and dabbling in Michael Bolton-style "adult contemporary" music.
I really think Boz Scaggs music has no target age, its just wonderful music. For example, when this song came out in 1988, i was 16 years old, a sophomore in high school. I have liked this song ever since and still listen to it when i start going through all my 80's music files on my computer. Like many, if i could, i would want to relive the 1980's all over again. It was just the most amazing decade in American music along with the birth of MTV videos and the British Invasion bands, etc.
@keisha0612 No, a HOT poker belongs up your your sorry ass for making such a dumbass comment and if you don't like it, just what the FUCK do you plan on doing about it bitch. LOL

Maybe it's because they (I don't know who are ''they'' ^_^) let them (I don't know ''them'' either) play music even if they don't really have the concrete talent of being a musician.
@cherryblossomslover I was here but late - my little boy had a basketball game and I had to talk to his mother afterwards . . . but I DID dance with you when I arrived - and it was wonderful - maybe together on another night ? I promise to be on time :) I loved it when you laid your head on my shoulder ; ]

i love this song hearing this reminds me of when i was a kid , its funny you never notice how you take in all these songs til your older and you remember all the words, its very humbling. also i think he looks like tim the tool man just a bit.
@fondapop agreed. take a good look around. nothing from the 80s and early 90s is being carried over into today's standards of music or entertainment much less in the realm of god or country. surely the talent pool isn't completely dried up. can't we get real music from real musicians anymore? I think not. we look back on the 80s and 90s with such an embracement now because we didn't t know we were living through some of the best times we'd ever know.
@br3ktw You couldn't have said it any better, that last sentence you typed, said it better than i could have ever done myself. We were truly living in the most amazing time yet most of us never realized it until now. Very well said, if you dont mind, i will save that sentence on my computer so that every time i get nostalgic, i can refer to it. thank you very much.
@fondapop I really liked and related to your comment. At least we can look forward to the day that Jesus comes back and saves us from all the ugliness on this earth. Have faith in Jesus and you will have those easier times your looking for. God Bless you!
I remember this song from the Summer of 1988.......damn what great times.....Boz is so awesome..... Back at a time when life didn't move so fast and things meant more...know what I mean? If you weren't there you''ll never know./
@wccwmark74 Life was simple and it just went by smoothly no hassles. The music was real and the Artists put a little bit of themselves in the songs. You could
always tell what band or single artist was on, they had a distinct sound.
@wccwmark74 You are so right. At the time you think things are so complicated but after all these were the best time of your life. Bu8t thats why we listen to these great songs from the era.... to recapture what once was. Peace!
@wccwmark74 U got it rite...times were the best back then...just graduated high school....no facebook, texting,etc...U had to interact with a person face to face.
Boz Scaggs es uno de los grandes. el trabajó en el famoso studio 54, tocanco low down, jo jo, musica disco. tiene más de 70 años y aun sigue en actividad.
the sadness of being away from her who i loved with all of my heart has been crushing me. and knowing that i will never be with her again; it's hard. The words completely fit me at this time. my heart has been dying.
Listen to Bobbty Caldwell's version of this song. Live. Nice job. Such a great performers. Both do great job on this one. I have a twelve year old tha switches to
his rock songs my car stereo. He plays piano and does like this kind of music. but
for now he's into hard rock. I have friend who started out playing bass and end up
playing guitar. Just tells you where the heart goes in the end.
I could spend a week straight just looking up videos on youtube...best site ever, I think.

i love this song hearing this reminds me of when i was a kid , its funny you never notice how you take in all these songs til your older and you remember all the words, its very humbling. also i think he looks like tim the tool man just a bit.

@fondapop Me to!
sarahsrose2002 1 year ago
@fondapop agreed. take a good look around. nothing from the 80s and early 90s is being carried over into today's standards of music or entertainment much less in the realm of god or country. surely the talent pool isn't completely dried up. can't we get real music from real musicians anymore? I think not. we look back on the 80s and 90s with such an embracement now because we didn't t know we were living through some of the best times we'd ever know.
br3ktw 11 months ago

@wccwmark74 I was there, and I know exactyly what you mean. This song has meant alot to me over the years. And even more lately...
cgssdmp 1 year ago 2
@wccwmark74 Life was simple and it just went by smoothly no hassles. The music was real and the Artists put a little bit of themselves in the songs. You could
always tell what band or single artist was on, they had a distinct sound.

nice imagery. lithe dancer. oh my.
interesting timing of hearing this today.
the sadness of being away from her who i loved with all of my heart has been crushing me. and knowing that i will never be with her again; it's hard.
