  • Ah, the 80's mullet. Its finest hour in my opinion.

  • Durrant/Fleck clearly offside at the 3rd hun goal.

  • Durrant, what a player

  • These were the days when Rangers and Aberdeen kept meeting in League Cup finals and they were all classics.

Some excellent players in both teams.

  • How good was wee durrant hang your head in shame Simpson

  • Ref Bob Valentine, the same scrote that cost Rangers the 77 and 89 Scottish cup finals, a Rhat that is often overlooked in his hatred for Rangers.

Still the good guys carried the day and justice was done !

  • I was at all 3 finals against Rangers 87, 88, 89. We got them finally thanks to Paul Mason in 89!! Great finals and great quality of football.

  • a brilliant game, i remember watching it as a bairn. cooper and durrants goals were exceptional...r i p davie cooper.....

  • Avi Cohen 5:45 R.I.P.

  • best game i was ever at

  • Cooper nearly burst the net Outstanding strike

  • Beautiful goal by cooper

  • Games like this are proof that Scotland needs a Strong Aberdeen more than it needs a strong Celtic. Much as I hate Rangers - I can't deny they were excellent opponents back then.

  • @chrispeeycritter What a ridiculous comment!Celtic are a way bigger club than aberdeen and traditionaly Celtic v Rangers have always been the match of the season in scotland.Aberdeen v rangers was arguably more important on the scottish callender in the very late 80s to the early 90s due to celtics decline.

It is true that scottish football needs a strong aberdeen, but it also needs a strong celtic. It has been 19 years since aberdeen were good, far too long!

  • Rangers Aberdeen days always were classics back in the day

  • alex ferguson wanted cooper at old trafford when he took over in 1986 but cooper sain nooooooooooooooooo.

  • all seater stadiums ruined the atmosphere, fans are like zombies .imo

  • Still having nightmares from Nicky Walker's hair.

  • An exocet from Cooper, I have not seen a purer strike. RIP legend.

  • we beat Sheepie the next year too ...3-2 ...two great finals won by The Rangers !

  • walter smith was only 39 here hes born in feb 1948!

  • i liked those nets on the goals back then ,i was 11 at this game but i wasnt there i was at the next 1 when ian ferguson scored the scissor kick.

  • greatest final ever.

  • what talent on show here ...nice vid m8 !

  • 89,000 at Hampden for those games. There's nae passion any more. Fans are to blame for the demise of Scottish football.

  • @ronanhunter what game were you at?? Hampden could only hold 72,000

awseome strike fae Cooper, top drawer

  • TheRangers1872 - Any chance you could upload the 1988 Skol Cup Final where we beat Sheepie again, 3-2. Your uploads are superb - best channel on Youtube, keep them coming mate.

  • this is it, this one went to pens

  • theres the 86-87 final, the 88-89 final....can someone please put up the 87-88 final that went to penalties, these 3 finals remind you how good scottish football used to be

  • As a Dons fan I wish scottish football was the same as it was back then

  • @ronanhunter i know what you mean back then i loved the game but now i am finding the game boring and even leaving early and my season ticket is dear lol

  • Best game I've ever seen. Had everything!

  • if the league was only rangers and aberdeen then aberdeen would stand a slight chance of winning. 4 times a season.

  • Fantastic final. Cooper's goal is the first Rangers goal I remember seeing on TV. Ian Durrant had an excellent match and seeing him in his prime reminds you of what a special talent he was.

Shame that nowadays we don't see players with the same technique or ability as those on show for both sides in that final.

  • pick it oot bandy!!

  • i was in the middle of the main stand at the time of the free kick,i heard him kicking the fuckin ball man, what a shot

  • seems like evreyone wanted to have a go at durrants leg, he must have been a right annoying cunt :)

  • Sure I heard Coopers free kick hit the net, and I was at the other end.

  • this is known as the durrant cup final i think

  • Even as a Dons fan, have to say this was an amazing final. Jim Leighton still hasn't seen Cooper's free kick yet. One of the best strikes ever

  • remember watching this game

    what a strike from cooper

  • remember watchin this final on the telly i was only 9, id been to hampden the year before and seen us beat hearts 3-0 to win the scottish cup, but watchin this i was in tears, was at the same final the year before and that was worse, but one of my best trips to hampden was the year after when we finally got our revenge on rangers.....STAND FREE

  • Season 87-88 Rangers 3-3 Aberdeen

    Season 88-89 Rangers 3-2 Aberdeen

Season 89-90 Aberdeen 2-1 Rangers A hat-trick of Skol Cup finals for these two clubs.

  • fantastic game, it was my first final that i went to suporting rangers.

  • ye can see its a rangers fan thats done this, all rangers highlights!!!lol

  • never a fuckin freekick i was ere, he won the ball!!!!!!

  • Are you taking about Miller's foul on McCoist?!?!?!?

  • Yes! lol. Was some game!!!!!!

  • That was a definite free kick! Amazing goal by Coop, probably the best free kick I've ever seen. This game is one of my earliest memories of football and it was the first game I can remember fully.

  • was a cracker of a freekick by the coops( rip) i have to admit!!!!

  • Fantastic highlights - well put together. What a performance from Durrant in that match.
