Actually, it's said that Sauron only wasn't more evil because he was serving a greater evil. But that wouldn't make him more powerfull, since Sauron is Maia and Melkor is a Vala, and once the greatest Ainu of Ilúvatar. It's reasonable to think that if Sauron was that powerfull, he wouldn't have been seduced by Melkor/Morgoth. Sauron is still badass, though.

I'm suprised anyone would think Voldemort would stand a chance in hell. As others have said, Sauron is immortal and more powerful then alot of the valar (gods) themselves. Voldemort would be at best on someone like Elrond's level. His magic would be "not real magic" compared to that of the maia's. (Sauron, Gandalf, Saruman, Balrogs, Dragons).

This is by definition exactly what would happen. Voldemort is weak and doesn't have a nose. Also it takes 1 kid to kill him while it took thousands of men to kill sauron. Also sauron can't be killed by wearing the ring sooooooooo, voldermort would have to wrestle it off him and there's very little chance that voldermort would win.

@KOpithon dude, look at the comment below you..."Sauron is a Maiar, a minor deity". consider that lotr has been selling since the 1950s. also, there were only 3 lord of the rings movies, where as there have already been 6 harry potter movies, with two more on the way. lotr made about 3 billion with 3 movies, while hp made 4.2 with the first 5. so, if you average that out, lotr made more for each movie. also, pete didnt have to split the last book in half to make it accurate to the book.

@KOpithon Yeah, the HP series made more money and thats because it pointed out to impress the masses. You know....for quantity. In the meanwhile, the movies for LotR were all about the quality. Suffice to say that LotR is way more accurate to the book. Plus, the books from LotR are worlds beyond the HP series, it has poetry for instance. My point is: if you're 5y old, you'll watch HP, if you're above 16y old, you'll watch LotR. And HP is a good book, but you can't compare it with LotR's class.
