  • I hope those 105 had disliked 'cause the low quality of the video

  • 103 people are afraid of mastery.

  • @CesarLopezMUsic como va el CD. ¿Me invitaría a un deleite de la Grabada? :D

  • Is that him humming or something while he plays?

  • @DomesticApe Yes. It's him humming. Living it...

  • @DomesticApe Yes it is. Many musicians sing at the same time they are improvising.

An amazing guitarist in argentina once told me "i'm not singing what i play, but i'm playing what i sing and what i think".

  • He relates an incident when African American jazz musician Ornette Coleman approached him backstage, and said something like, "Man, you've got to be black. You just have to be black", to which Jarrett replied, "I know. I know. I'm working on it.

  • 1:23 -1;33 wordless!!!

  • I first herd this piece on the Bremen record from 1973 and loved it from the very first moment.

  • wat da name of dis plz/;

    '

  • Not for me, sorry!

  • i heard keith jerret is a rude mutherfucker if you talk during his performances. He has been known to stop playing in the middle of his music if he tinks the audience is rude. And to my suprise. Keith is not even black. This whole time ive been thinking he was a black guy because of how he looks. Learn something new everyday i guess.

  • @goddessnoire your post brings back that old saying: intelligence is limited, but stupidity is unlimited

  • Has anybody ever heard "Make a Jazz Noise" by Frank Zappa? Jarrett is king of the jazz noises.

  • His mother was giving birth a piano between her legs!!

  • I doubt any woman can satisfy him like this piano does

  • The next day the piano found it was pregnant

  • It brings a tear to my eye even though it is not a sad piece. This music is so full of JOY!

  • That sound at 1:19 gets me every time

  • this guy was having sex with the piano

  • If you like Jarrett you may like this too watch?v=G5tZEVz6mUs

  • Non ci sarà più nessuno come Lui !

  • he's a crappy singer isn't he ?

  • @redhairedevil85 He claims it adds to the music. All I hear is EEEEEEEEEEEEH :P

  • Someone do me a favor and shoot me right now, I would die happy :)

  • he's got to be the best in his class, simply brilliant! also he been around a long time ( seasoned skills here )

  • Incredible - watched this many many times now and it never ceases to amaze

  • <3

  • haha i know that feeling where he's all twisted up and gyrating

  • The heavy breathing he's doing really makes this song sound DISTURBING. I mean, it sounds like something from a bad porno.

  • He doesn't play music, he IS music

  • @Pancrazioluspuz much more scary: he is the spirit of MUSIC itself, not only the substance

  • I think he got OCD

  • Jarrett is one of the greatest musicians to ever grace the planet, but from time to time I wish I could mute out the "jazz noise".

  • there are 90 people who clicked that they dont like it. normally i make jokes about these people but how can someone right minded not love this song? it´s beautiful

    (sorry for my english)

  • If I can transcribe and play this I shall die happy

  • @Chocola127 watch the entire transcription in my videos! :)

  • @evilasiov ru sure it's completely accurate..?

  • @charliebucket47 nothing in this world is 100%, but it's very close to original... try it! :-)

  • When I first heard Jarrett I kept wondering how many fingers does he had. I was really curious about finding out how many fingers he actually had. I was even more bewildered when I found out he had ONLY ten fingers... This piece takes my astonishment to another level, a level beyond understanding! To me, the piano is the ultimate expression of the highest form of intelligence. A brain which is capable of processing such combinations through two different hands is more than just a super machine.

  • @Samaplaylist Ahahah ..... anche io mi sono chiesta quante dita avesse!! Hai ragione è una super macchina!

  • @Samaplaylist I was wondering how many brains he had

  • @JavierNavarr0 indeed.

  • The man is god's gift to the blues.

  • 1:18 OMG

  • Why do people think living, breathing music has anything to do with sex? This is so far beyond any form of physiological output that it's just a wonder his body would even move under all that light.

Meditational, personal output from the inside, and a funny moving body seen from the outside that will get limited people assuming "hey, I know this, it's sex".

Jarrett has never been here. Specially while playing. It's just that somehow music comes out of it...

  • @fescolfaro Man, U dont have 2 take everything so serious. There are many musicians (Steve Vai comes to mind) who have said (even if only tongue-in-cheek-style) they sometimes wanna have sex with their instruments,so....

  • @KonkreteXXX well, that sort of proves my point bro... Jarrett >>>>>>> (vai)... Not to say that there isn't music with sexuality involved, but reggaeton would come to mind instead of Jarrett :)

  • @fescolfaro it doesnt matter shit if vai or bach...this isnt a popularity contest BRO. and I dont think that jarrett ever told you about his emotions when playing music, has he now?

  • @KonkreteXXX There is a good deal of music that is relative. But it's very easy to gauge the depth of the lake just by listening (provided you have the ears), this has nothing to do with popularity or aesthetics, and it might even have more to do with the make of oneself, but it isn't relative at all. In that sense, it is to be taken so seriously, U.

Sex floats around the top of the lake, as do most.

  • @fescolfaro wth has this to do with your original statement ?

  • @KonkreteXXX Do you really want me to explain this further or are you just being an ahole?

  • @fescolfaro nono, go ahead, explain.

  • @fescolfaro I don't understand "Sex floats around the top of the lake, as do most." I know what sex is, and a lake,

& float, but I don't understand what U mean. I think it's very deep. Could U explain more?

    THX

  • @frody8pie Ok. There is no right or wrong to this, you need to go after it yourself. When we deal with improvisation or composition (rarely with interpretation as well), we are dealing with intuition and the origin of ideas. You may look at us as part of an unity, bigger than all parts. Whenever someone taps into this fundamental unity, there's resonance within all of us and a sense of exhilaration. Sex is individual, an expression of a single part and remains with whomever experiences it.

  • @fescolfaro Thank U so much 4 your explanation. I understand the meaning of life now!

  • @frody8pie Troll.

  • @fescolfaro I didn't know that you got YouTube on Mars! I pay U a compliment & U insult me.

  • The left hand ostinato reminds me vividly of Chopin's Mazurka in Bb major, op.7 no.1

    what do yall think?

  • Did someone notice that this piece sounds similar to his 'Bremen Part 2'? The last few minutes? It is still AMAZING NEVERTHELESS

  • anyone know the name of this piece? or where I can download the score. thanks

  • @watermelonman92 I know that he plays this at the end of the "Bremen concert". Search for "Keith Jarret - Solo Concerts: Bremen". It's the last 5 minutes of Part 2. The whole concert is amazing! Enjoy!

  • @watermelonman92 This is an improvised piece. No score exists. This is a testament to the talent of Keith Jarrett.

  • @SuperChessGURU You're right, however he already played this in Bremen 11 years earlier...

  • Great!

  • No one else can play melodies in different octaves sooo well! Look how "trained" his hands are! Incredible...

  • I really appreciate Jarrett's playing and am currently exploring his work, but I have to say his scatting along with his playing (especially on his recorded work) is a bit of a distraction.

  • this is brilliant folks

  • so good

  • Some people will argue that it all comes down to personal taste. Maybe, but some people just cannot appreciate high quality music and it's almost always down to what they've been exposed to all of their lives.

  • How in the world can anyone dislike this? This... as vi say in danish: Oser af Musik!!!!

  • @AmandaWHallstrom My dear friend, don't be surprised that some people dislike this. This goes waaaay beyond personal taste in music and It would take me a lot to explain but I'll say this. Some people grow up on a diet of low quality pop music force fed to them by the major record labels and they simply can't "feel" anything else. Their minds have literally been programmed to like the stuff imposed on them.

  • @DudeLoveAndLight I grew up w/classical masters, then Miles, Trane, Evans, Monk, Ellington, MJQ, Parker etc. Heard them in concert (not Parker) many times. KJ is a great player, not a "Giant". If KJ just played I wouldn't even comment. But he has thrown himself into the ring w/ his absurd behavior. If U like Him fine. I am entitled to my opinion. BTW I'm confident my musical upbringing is as good as yours. Why don't U explain your "Way beyond personal taste" theory? Can't wait!

  • @frody8pie I totally agree with your comments. I don't think it's possible to like every style of music but the comments I made regarding "Way beyond personal taste" is to do with the general degradation of all art forms in our society. Record companies are happy to push gangsta rap with all manner of profanities and some other pop genres while the classical or jazz musician struggles to get a contract. The reason I believe is explained by a British scientist called Noel Huntley.

  • @frody8pie I've wondered for many years why there appears to be a degradation of art in our western society then I came across an article on the website of Dr. Noel Huntley that to me, explained it all. You can check out his website but I must warn you, his articles are not for the faint hearted. To get to the article regarding the degradation of art, navigate to "Books" then click on "The Scientific Principles of Spiritual Enslavement" then scroll down to "Degradation of Art and Music".

  • @DudeLoveAndLight I couldn't agree more. I will check out the information you have listed. Thank you. I believe it comes down to one word; MONEY. Peace & Kindness. I am not faint hearted. I can assure you I can handle it! Thanks again.

  • @AmandaWHallstrom Hi Amanda. I hope you are as excited as I am to have "DudeLoveAndLight" explain his ideas to us. You know people have different tastes in everything. KJ told me he didn't like Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" recording. That recording changed my life. It is generally considered one of the most important jazz albums ever made. I think KJ would like it if he was on it. Good Listening!

  • 88888

  • This is keith jarrett. A dislike button does not exist.....

  • 88 people don´t know how beautiful it is. 88 people don´t like music

  • no.. words

  • OKOKOK Stop the fucking presses. Keith Jarrett is a MONSTER GENIUS. I have lived and loved to his music for 35 years. This footage is further proof that he is nothing short of a musical MANIAC.

  • @Pleaver IMO you need to get out more! But enjoy the music. If you like it, that all that matters.

  • @frody8pie If you're aware of things I may have missed that match this for the chunk of musical magic that it is, by all means, share it. I get out a lot. and I have never seen this kind of soulful and overwhelming mastery of ANYTHING. For me, Mr. Jarrett is a musical genius.

  • WOW AMAZINGG!!!

  • Delighted to see some live footage of this ditty of Jarrett's. As a couple of people have mentioned, this piece appears at the end of the Bremen concert (double CD with Lausanne concert), but that version of course features completely different improvisations in the right hand over the left-hand ostinato. That version, in fact, is possibly the most ecstatically brilliant piano-playing I've ever heard. Do check it out if you have the chance.

  • @sagnyc Thanks for the info. Another performance of this tune can be heard on YouTube:

'7 KEITH JARRETT SOLO-CONCERTS BREMEN PartⅢ 1973 analogue'

  • He is one of the best Jazzmusicians on the piano i know. Im just 17 years old and i was told to listen to "Keith Jarett" . i just thought okay?!

I went home and heared this song and i thought: " How freaky is this guy?" He is such a fantastic musician. Todays music is empty and its trash music . Look at "techno" just computer music. these guys understood ( udnerstand) how to make real music. But the daily musicniveau is descending:-(

    KJ !!! Wonderful

  • Can anyone confirm the rumor that KJ concerts will have plainclothes security randomly placed in the audience to remove people who create a disturbance? Like coughing, phone , cameras etc. SCARY!

  • To conclude, what Keith strives for is to be prepared to let the moment use him to connect with the organic piano and with those unnamed existences that influence and are influenced by each other...like a fine Bordelaise sauce simmering to create a brand new flavor encompassing all of the individual parts, and then becomes something more.

When Keith is at his finest, he is the art process unfolded, delivering to you and I, the listeners, an experience we can accept or deny...it's up to you.

  • @JamieTurner7777 I read your comment and it's so beautiful, I feel as if I have to up to my little room and have a good long cry. Thanks for helping me understand the meaning of life. BTW did you check out KJ Umbria 07? Keep enjoying the mystery of the music.

  • Few of you will understand this now but what Keith attempts, and so often achieves, is the state of pure creation....there it is happening right before your ears. And never to be heard again, if not for the recording science, but experienced only ONCE, as it was for Keith. Why? Because this is pure, instantaneous creation of the art of music. Beginning with the artist without pretenses or pre-concepts...as a new born baby does hear and feel so he prepares for the Muse (if a name is needed).

  • @JamieTurner7777 Hi Jamie, I was just wondering why you think "few of us" will understand what KJ is attempting to do. I don't know much about this, but what is the difference between what KJ does and say, Miles, Monk, Evans, Trane, Lester Young, Powell, Basie , Ellington , Parker, Jelly Roll, Armstrong etc. I think KJ is great, but do you think he has really changed music? I can't write as well as you, but could you explain what it is that KJ has done musically? Is he a master, or masterful?

  • @JamieTurner7777 Hi Jamie, still wondering why you think "few of us will understand... Really looking forward to you enlightening us.

  • Comment removed

  • @JamieTurner7777 When, when can you help those of us who can't understand? I wait for the meaning of life that only you can provide, but you don't answer my prayers. Please explain what it is that we everyday folk can't understand. Obviously you have great vision and understanding that we don't have. Why oh why won't you enlighten us? ... as a newborn baby does hear& feel so he prepares for the Muse(if a name is needed). You are a prophet. Help us, help us, PLEASE!!!!!!

  • Sound engineer's nightmare

  • man thats a happening stage

  • unbelievable

  • hHe had Polydactyly on his right hand... 1:07

  • Now i guess this is how to have cognitive, creative Sex with a Piano :D

  • anyone know the name of this piece and where I can download the sheet music?

  • Comment removed

  • @watermelonman92 I believe this might be an improvised piece. Keith Jarrett is rather famous for improvising at his concerts, so there probably isn't sheet music for this piece.

  • @uberOblivious Although Jarrett is famed for his improvisations this performance uses the same melody as he recorded in the Bremen concert in 1973.

  • @domburd Oh, that's good to know. Thank you for you correction. =)

  • @domburd

The left hand (melody) is not the improvising hand.

It is the right that is improvising, and with an amount of independence that is simply mind blowing. I'm sorry you don't recognize that.

  • alguien sabe como se llama esta pieza y donde puedo descargar las partituras?

  • @watermelonman92 por lo general keith jarret hace improvisaciones, como el concierto de colonia o este de tokio, hay que tener buen oido y sacarla no más....

  • Got to see Keith J live at the Bijou Cafe in downtown Philadelphia back in the day. My seats were about eight feet from it. It was like witnessing a completely unbelievable phenomena of creation. Mind blowing literally. If you do not already have the Koln Concert recording, you need to get it and put is on on a quiet saturday morning. The guy is simply an immense musical talent and his music if just beautiful in my opinion. He has taste as well. Love his work, have for decades.

  • il n'a vraiment que dix doigts???

  • um. so. Good!

  • ¡¡Por Dios!! Escuchen a este monstruo: piano, público y talento.

  • WOW......he does not know what note to play, but plays it anyway.....WOW

  • AHH...AMAZING!!

  • 2:11 keith jarrett making love

  • this guy is freakin passionate. ;D

  • lolol 2:35 he ia getting intimate with the piano

  • wow wow wow wow

  • Guess what, I just learned to play this today =) not as good or fast of course but I am still pretty proud of myself. =)

  • this is piano porn

  • i understand what it is to make love with a piano.

voilà un mec qui fait l'amour à son piano.

  • Paul Boomer, the famous Australian concert "crepitator" (farter), Lord & Lady Windersphere and the legendary French farter, Francois Pfuffe cordially invite all members of TIFOC (The International Federation of Crepitators) to join us for an unforgettable evening of farting and music. If we work together we can "BLOW" KJ away! If KJ thinks a cough is hard to deal with...

  • It's amazing that one man can improvise so many voices at the same time.

  • The Einstein of music.

  • This man is having sex with the piano

  • @HaxNigga Not with the piano (alone), but with the universe, through the music.

  • ö a király a vécé pucolo az sp meg a flour tomi

  • This is God manifesting himself through Keith and his piano...

    Ograsmic.

  • it's just beautiful thanks you, Mr. K. Jarrett, he doesn't play music he's simply music !

  • Bill Evans was by far a greater pianist/composer/musician, and he didn't need playing the clown.

  • @cesaresusa Come on they have different styles you can compare them like that, I happen to be a Huge Bill Evans fan and a Keith Jarrett fan, and hes not being a clown he is groovin. =)

  • This is what I am going to hear when I float up to my heaven. =)

  • whats the name of this song

  • Music lives inside Keith. Period.

  • @kantiano :)

  • I think Jan Garbarek's bassist puts this bass line on loop and improvises over it in a certain concert of theirs.

  • My sister to me to see Keith Jarrett at the Philadelphia Harmonic. He is awsome.

  • Oh Keith! Truly you are the music yourself. Love you!

  • Although I sincerely love his solo, I wish he was a bit more volume-sensitive on this one.

  • if you like jarrett try this: watch?v=vSzYHSaIS0o

  • @zest4lyfe

    hahahaha! You are wellcome! ^^

  • he's crazy................

  • It looks as though his mind is going faster than it's humanly possible to play the notes...that's why he moves so awkwardly, moving in pain

  • @igna924 lol youre so wrong. he moves like that because hes feeling the groove. its obvious you are no jazz musician

  • Jesus Christ, Keith. Look at what you've done.

  • Has Keith Jarrett ever played Satin Doll in solo or trio?

  • awesome this man he plays so beautiful

  • who cares about the piano! he sings freakin awesome :D

  • @hjorthan Very funny ;)

  • Beautiful !!

  • He has nothing on chooka parker.

  • I would sell my legs to be that good. 85 people lost their ears because they suck off too much

  • si seulement il était muet !

  • Jarrett!

  • He is from other planet? Plutón or.....wherever!

  • So did Keith actually let a photographer go under or get inside the piano to video the hammer action? This is a well-done video obviously meant to be seen by, well, millions now.

He's awesome. I have listened to him for decades. Never get tired of it.

  • does anyone else notice the weird breathing business in the background?

  • He just told me his life story in one song! This peice is wonderful.

  • Keith puts the V in virtuoso! Damn.

  • learn body language.....u'll learn piano....lol

  • This is a monster...

  • Damn he's good! =)

  • ya just gotta look past the body language... ;)

  • :D

  • My idol of music. Absolutely.

  • the god of piano!!!

  • These things and more shall you do also!!! Thanks my brother

  • I love to see the dampers on the piano bouncing up and down with the tempo as he steps on the pedal :) What an incredible pianist this man is.

  • Makes me go crazy!!! ...

  • Music is good with some body jestures showing pretentions
