You guys didn't listen to her properly it seems. To be a RUNWAY MODEL, a high end one, wearing couture, you usually need to be 5'9" and very thin.
You will not be modeling for Chanel or Dior if you're 5'5 and 125 pounds. It's just not how that part of the Industry works.
You have a chance at being a model at almost any size, as there are many different divisions. So if you're short, don't focus on editorial. There are other things out there for you.

There are requirements, not everyone can do it. If there weren't any requirements there would be ppl trying to be runway models at 5'3" 270 lbs. Nobody wants to see clothes on that. I'm 5'5" and 117 and I can't do runway and that's just fine

man have things changed the minimum height for runway is 5'7 according to Tyra and 5'8 according to victoria secret, I think im going to listen to them instead of some random girl on youtube!also you can be 5'9 skinny and weight 130,but look 110, it doesnt really matter on your weight it really just matters on how skinny you look, cuz some of your weight can be muscle and not FAT! plus you dont have to be pretty, ehat type of person says that!!!!

You guys didn't listen to her properly it seems. To be a RUNWAY MODEL, a high end one, wearing couture, you usually need to be 5'9" and very thin.
You will not be modeling for Chanel or Dior if you're 5'5 and 125 pounds. It's just not how that part of the Industry works.
You have a chance at being a model at almost any size, as there are many different divisions. So if you're short, don't focus on editorial. There are other things out there for you.

Seriously i thnk the height reall only matters for runways .. weight could differ depending on who your client is and what they are looking for , who they clothes will look best on. but for catalogue and commercials you really only have to be pretty.

Half of the time, models look like they hate their job when they're on the runway.
I've asked dozens of women for their opinions on retail stores endorsed by these types of "models". ALL of them stated they'd rather shop at a place where the clothes they showcase are promoted by models who represent the average woman.
If you want to show how clothes drape, get a coat hanger.

not that I'm defending her...the lady gives me the creps a bit too...but a lot of you are forgetting that the size requirements she's giving are for 'RUNWAY' models. They DO have to be a certain size because designers create their clothing to fit THAT SIZE...this isn't saying that if you're not that size, you can't be a sucessful model! There are tons of different types of modeling jobs in th world, (print, beauty etc etc)
