"The nice thing about Alzheimer's is you get to hide your own Easter eggs,"by John McCain
McCain is 2 yrs older than his dad when he died of a heart attack at 70.He is 11 yrs older than his grandfather when he died of a heart attack at 61.We cannot afford the risk of McCan dying suddenly in the middle of n international crisis.Nor can we afford the risk of dementia.Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 83, but the early signs were evident during his first term.
McCain's promoters have carefully edited out of their McCain-for-president equation is his post-traumatic stress disorder.Depart of Defense psychiatrists evaluated McCain for PTSD several times, the results of which remain locked by privacy laws.PTSD develops after exposure to a terrifying event in which physical harm occurred/threatened.
An outcome of PTSD is a web of personal problems including difficulty in controlling intense emotions such as anger& inability to function well under stress.
FOX NEWS IS THE DEVIL! CONSERVATIVE MEDIA SHOULD BE OUTLAWED!!!! NO STATIONS OUT THERE ARE SHYING AWAY FROM THINGS THAT OBAMA AND OTHER DEMOCRATS DO. FOX NEWS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT TRIES TO SUPPORT AN AGENDA. THERE IS NO PROOF THAT JIMMY CARTER CALLED OBAMA "This black boy."
FOX NEWS IS THE DEVIL!...this lame tactic by FOX surprises u?...fox HAS been reading 'talking points' directly from ROVE and the bush white house since 2001....but crying about BIASED FOX coverage is lame....us dems just have to deal with it.
Just heard McCain picked Sarah Palin! McCain is no way interested in the BEST VP, he is interested in getting VOTES! He picks any female so he might collect old votes from Hilliary's! Pathetic, Desperate attempt to win at all cost even to USA's disadvantage! Wow! to think Romney and all these qualified others are overlooked for a Hillary compete. Wow!! What total LOSERS!
McCain is worse than a joke. He is a complete embarrassment. I cannot believe he is the Republican party's best choice.
As a Republican, I am very depressed that after 8 years of having the stupidest man on this planet as President, the best choice the Republicans can come up with is another dunce who graduated 895 out of 900!
Fox uses vicious hate speech against liberals disguised as right-wing opinion. They demonize liberals & call for their extermination. Liberals are called effeminate, perverted, godless USA haters. Ann Coulter has regularly called for violence against liberals. On the home of the right-wing news media, FOX News, pundits regular joke about the execution of presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama. Other commentators such as Bill O'Reilly compare liberals to Nazis and the KKK.
Fox just showed McCain 8/25/08 making a speech in front of one of his targets, some uniformed Armed Forces and Hispanic-looking young women, perhaps Mexican. Is this his way of reminding the hispanic voters"I have no intentions on closing the border on you people as long as I have your vote"?
This type of converage is why msnbc are getting their asses whooped by FOX. What pathetic journalism. Who cares! Have they seen McCain's 92 year old mother? His chronological age hasn't nothing to do with the issues.
And please "proof that FOX is in the tank for McCain". Hilarious, when every liberal prime time and cable news show have been hyping NoBama for months with messianic fervor...and absolutely no questions asked! What hypocracy, lol.
The finger pointing is happening on both 'sides' of Americas black and white democracy. You're breeding your own form of hypocrisy (sp) just by pointing a finger yourself. MSNBC is left wing and FOX is right wing. What's new here? If you're capable of writing more than a two sentence comment then you should be capable of realising this very simple point. This doesn't just count for you a random member of the internet that thinks FOX is winning an invisible fight, it goes for everyone.
You have no clue what you're talking about. You're entitled to dislike my comment but doesn't change the fact that Fox News IS killing MSNBC in the ratings and this IS a lame story.
Your opening sentence is disturbing..."both sides of America's black and white democracy"? There is nothing in my comments that is remotely racial or has anything to do with color lines. It is about journalistic favoritism ad hypocracy.
Perhaps you lack the common ability to understand English or feel that slamming down people with statements like "You have no clue what you're talking about" will build your internet ego. Either way I meant "Black and White" as in "Not gray". I'll forgive you since you've gone into a big racial rant about that misunderstood point. What is the reason why Fox news is killing MSNBC in the ratings? Fox news is McDonalds to MSNBC's boring factual rants.Sadly MSNBC is trying to emulate Fox's overhyping
My ego and English comprehension are fine DrJohMc. In any event, glad you clarified your intended point. Now we can certainly move on to more pressing issues. And fyi, absolutely hate McDonald's and never rant...express honest opinions or perhaps, ocassionally, pontificate....but never rant. Cheers my friend!
Obama's skin color and McCain's age have no bearing on my voting decision. It is sad that many insist on fueling a racial divide that just doesn't exist. America is diversity and I'm hopeful we are above such ignorance.
In a perfect 1950 sitcom world everyone is above such racial ignorance.I understand your sentiment about being hopefull however in many places including the US racism still continues to exist.Sweeping it under the carpet does nothing about it.Burning crosses doesn't do anything about it either. But saying 'Hey it's there and it sucks so lets all be a bit nicer to each other' at least reminds those in the bubble about what's going on and at least reminds said ignorant people to get with the times.
America has been storing much more of our own oil in the last decade, Storing more! Why would we do that in a time when we need it most? why the push to drill for more if were only going to store it! Who owns this stored oil not us thats for sure as you no we pay out the ass for it,maybee we should try using some of our stored oil, this will bring up supply and damand down. Our oil suppliers will have no choice but to lower prices we already have the oil Just use it.Dont drill for more YET!!!
OBAMA 08 The rep make me tired. WAR,GAS,ENERGY CRISES,WAR GAS CRISES TERROR TERROR ELERT CRUMBLING ECONAMY GAS PRICE ALL TIME HIGH, CRIME RATE UP, RECORD DEPT WAR DEPT Its always the same shit with these people its time 4 change lets take out the lying trash conservatives Why do they call them selfs that when all they do is spend our money and create dept???
Ok look here zack you retard wtf do you think obama will do if he is elected as president? He will pull out of iraq, raise taxes shit on are constitution, and worst of all wont let us drill for oil!!! look ok if we pull out of iraq now{ Which would be a mistakes considering were winning dont belive all the media} the rest of the world will think us a joke or more of one. And dont think for a minute that Obama will stop deficit spending because if he wonts to do universal health care LOOK OUT!
it is difficult to take someone serious if they cannot spell and have poor grammatical structure. Your claims are confused and poorly presented. Both candidate will increase the national debt. The Iraqi's want us out. Drilling for oil is not a quick fix. the oil co's have over 34 million acres they can drill on now but won't. we are only 'winning' in Iraq because the Mahdi army is under an ordered cease fire. Iraq is a war that violates US and int'l law, not to mention the moral sickness of it.
We are already pulling out of Iraq moron. And Obama will only raise taxes for people making over $250,000. Try reading into his stances instead of getting all your info from fox news. LOL drilling for oil wont have results for 7 years. Then assuming theres alot down there MIGHT lower gas prices alittle. Can anyone say gimmick? The rest of the world already thinks were a joke. Ya and privite health care is so much better. That might be why millions of Americans cant afford it.
What the fuck are you stupid bush isnt pulling out of iraq he even said while he is president that they would never pull out of iraq. And the thing about raiseing taxes is that if you raise taxes for people making over 250,000 what do you think the businesses are going to do stay here while they can all ready make somthing in some 3rd world contry some were for half of what they make it over here? And also fuck fox news. And wtf you mean 7 years it only takes like 1 year to get a oil well going.
What? LOL. Look at the news moron. We are now below serge levels. Bush is going to talk to Iraq about a withdraw plan. Obviously its to help McCain. So you say the lower middle class and the poor deserve the majority of the tax burdan? Thats just retarded. The more money you make the more taxes you should pay. Somthing you republicans dont agree with. And Obama has already said he would help curve the tide of businesses leaving this country.
By raising taxes. You seem to not know alot about economics. O and also i just read somthing that he was saying. Hes not talking about raising taxes for people that make above 250,000 hes talking about raising taxes for people that make as low as 35,000 a year. So i dont know what news your listening to but they seem to have a real hard on for obama.
Find one news real were Obama said he would raise taxes for people making $35,000. Youtube has almost everything Obama has ever said. Link me the video were he said that. You cant cause he never did. Stop spreading lies your making your party look bad. I dont know what place you herd these lies from. Obama said only the top 3% of Americans will have a tax increase. Thats a fact.
Also we just found a shit ton of oil off the coast of the carolinas, and we also found one near North Dakota. And the one we found near ND is one of the bigest in the world o not to mention all the oil in alaska we cant get any were near because of the Nature nazis. Also it will lower Gas prices alot because if think about all the money it cost to find, drll, ship, refine, and then ship it to gas stations. All from another country! And the health care thing i will get into later
Find experts that say we can drill and get oil in 1 year. Not even the McCain people are claiming thats possible. Most experts say 7-10 years. Try not living in a delusional world. Im for offshore oil but if thats the backbone of his plan to get gas prices down then McCain has a problem. I believe we should drill everywere except Anwar.
Ok here i will give it to you that maybe i m wrong about the 1 year thing. Maybe it is 7-10 years {Which i m pretty sure its not}but look at it this way. What is obama going to do. Hes aginst off shore drilling and he wont drll in this country. So what is he gunna do hes gunna wave his wand of change and oil is going to rain from the sky. The only way gas is going to go down is if we lower taxes and start drilling for oil now. Theres no quick fix to this problem.
Do you believe that offshore drilling will bring prices down alot? It wont. It will take at least 7 years to get a drop of that oil. We need to invest in wind, solar, nuclear and coal. By investing more into wind and solar we can free up coal and our own oil supply for cars. Thats what Obama wants to do. McCains answer is to drill more and in 7 years bring down the price alittle. Obamas is to bring down the price alot by investing in wind and solar. Your right there is not short term solution.
Obama was tossed a political hot potato and handled it like a pro by having a heckler lead the crown in the pledge of allegiance.
At the same time, John McCain was offering up his wife for a nude, banana sucking Miss Cow Chip contest at the biker fest in Sturgis, SD.
Our President's job is to secure America's interests. The best way to do that is by building positive, lasting relations with our international allies. Not telling our friends around the World that they don't matter.
sorry. PLEASE DON`T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don`t post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your life
Watching MSNBC is like watching a paid advertisement for Obama. I can oly watch Lockup and Chris Hansen on that channel, otherwise I'd go crazy with rage wanting to punch these guys right in the mouth (especially Olberman that butthole)
I completely agree. Look at all the liberal papers and networks stubbornly putting their ultra-liberal ideologies before everything. That is why they their circulation and profits have plummeted. Especially that propaganda rag, "The New York Times."
collegeswimx, where is your data to support your assertion of Bush giving $4 trillion in tax breaks to the top 2% of earners? Please cite your sources because I'm interested in this subject. Thanks.
collegeswimx, "paying big co's to send our jobs overseas"? Since NAFTA was signed into law, about 1 million jobs have been moved overseas while the U.S. has created nearly 30 million new jobs for its citizens. That's pretty good math. We're in a global economy now. We can't stop the outsourcing of cheaper labor to foreign nations. Doing so would make many U.S. companies less competitive, which would cost even more jobs. The only way to fix the problem is to retrain people for new jobs.
Obama wants to send troops into Pakistan, he thinks there are 57 states in America, he voted for HR 1995, and he thinks socializing healthcare is actually a good idea! McCain wants to stay "10,000 years in Iraq", hand out tax cuts to big american business', probably declare war on Iran, and torture you! ...Bob Barr 08 - He knows how many states there are in America, and he doesn't want to take away habeas corpus (and/or torture you), nor does he want to illegally wiretap US citizens.
FDR put tens of thousands of German and Japanese American citizens in internment camps during WWII. He also strongarmed Congress to do what he wanted. His power at the time exceeded Bush's by far. And we recovered from that. If our gov't leaders want to wiretap to keep us safe, I think we'll recover from that too.
Re: your remark about handing out tax cuts to the rich...that's a political talking point that IRS data does not support. The rich and big business pay most of our taxes.
That's why our government gets nothing done. No one is willing to meet in the middle due to the fact that no one wants to show political weakness.
If we don't tax the rich, where will the money come from. You can't get blood from a turnip. Maybe our government will notice this, and be more responsible with spending.
$6 to $12 billion a month in Iraq would be a start. We simply can't afford it.
You seem like a reasonable person. I'm enjoying the conversation.
I think I've made a pretty solid case that the rich are taxed a lot -- so much so that it's plenty fair.
Exxon Mobile is making billions because demand for oil is up globally. Their profit margin is 10%. That's lower than many other multi-billion tech companies. Yet politicians don't demonize tech companies because they can't stir up enough emotion doing that. They need a better boogeyman. And big oil fits the bill.
Afhganistan and Pakistan is where the Taliban/Bin Laden were headquartered. They are the ones that attacked America on 9-11, yet Bin Laden still runs free.
Obama was in the middle of the most contested Democratic primary in our history. He meant to say 47 states. I'll give that one to him.
McCain needed Joe Lieberman to whisper in his ear that "Iranians are training extremists, not al Qaeda."
i love how every other news channel, besides fox, never shows the full cip. Rove was just about to say why but you cut it off. The Glen Beck Show makes fun of stuff, and always trys to make fun out of stuff.
Bush and McCain have now sided with Obama with their "time horizon" for withdrawl. McCain attacked Mitt Romney for even suggesting a time line for troop withdrawl.
Go figure.
The McCain/Bush tax policies give the mega-corps and wealthy a shelter, while the blue collars need to take out a loan just to put gas in their tanks and food on their families tables.
McCain is not siding with Obama. Success in Iraq is allowing for a draw down. The surge's original five brigades are already redeployed out of Iraq. And our commanders already are planning for the draw down steadily next year. Had we followed Obama's advice, we would have left Iraq in shame and defeat.
There is plenty to be upset about with the Bush administration, but not tax policy. Today, wealthy individuals pay the highest percentage of U.S. income taxes in history.
McCain and Bush were steadfast that there would not be a time frame for withdrawl from Iraq. Thus they invented the term, "time horizon." McCain has attempted to use the surge as a political feather in his cap, but lied to the public when he claimed that the Sunni revolt against Al-Qaida in Iraq's Anbar province, "The Awakening," began long before Bush announced his surge policy in January 2007.
Blue collar workers are struggling. Gas is high and jobless rates are rising. Reduce their taxes!!
Advertising war plans/timetables to the enemy is not a good idea.
Sure, people are hurting. But not due to tax policy. According to IRS data, the top 1% of income earners pay 40% of America's income taxes. The top 10% pay 71%. Citizens earning under the median income account for 2.9%. And under Bush's policy, 40 million low-income Americans don't even pay taxes. Well-off Americans could pay more. But how much of the obligation should they pay? What's fair in your opinion? 90%?
I don't have a percentage for you, but America's economic woes are deep rooted. Especially for the blue collar working class. Jobless rates and the cost of living are rising, along with our national debt. The U.S. education system needs to be overhauled to prepare our youth for a competative global market. We also need to aggressively pursue alternative fuels, and stop sending billions to the middle east. Our foreign relations need to be mended after 8 years of Bush arrogance.
Maybe now you will concede that current tax policy is not the problem? Oil prices, inflation and our shift from an industrial/manufacturing economy to an innovation and service economy are hurting working class people a lot more than a tax policy that collects more income from wealthy individuals than any other in the last 40 or 50 years. I agree with your remarks about our education system. Despite investing billions to improve it, it is broken and has not adjusted to our changing economy.
Another serious problem: Today's youth are not as disciplined as in years past. As a nation, we're getting lazier, softer and more apathetic with every generation. (Yet our sense of entitlement is balooning.) So it's difficult to predict whether education reform will really help. It's awfully hard to compete globally when the competition is a lot hungrier than you are.
We need someone who'll lead on those issues (and many others, of course) rather than pander to people.
John McCain will further isolate America from the rest of the World.
I won't concede the my views on the tax policy because our government has been irresponsible with spending. Why should we tax the working people to the brink of homelessness, while corporations like Exxon Mobile are making record profits. There's somthing fishy going on there, and John McCain and George Bush don't seem to care. I wonder why?
Obama and McCain will both not employ substanial amounts of alternative fuels because the influencial corporations and special interests groups that dictate the majority of American politic's would oppose such an endevour. Oil, whether from the Middle East or Southern American, will still to remain the primary source of energy under either a McCain or Obama administration.
The fact that McCain has any support at all, shows that most of his followers care more about voting along party lines than actual issues even if with our economy, the value of the dollar, our jobs, our schools, and our very nation is on the edge of the cliff! They would rather choose poorly, than vote for someone who will at least try to fix this country before the USA is just a distant memory like the USSR.
They say an idiot makes the SAME mistakes over and over again with NO reflection of the past.
With regret, I voted for Bush Jr. twice out of loyalty to the Republican Party. As a result my son has lost his leg fighting in Iraq under false pretenses. My family can not afford another four years of Bush policies!
You really want to keep harping on bush, as if he were the one running for president. McCain speaks from experience and his belief in our country, while obama speaks whatever it takes to fool the foolhardy. Like someone said, "Obama, you can keep the change." HAHAHA!
John McCain and George W. Bush share the same policies. If elected, our country will continue the same downward spiral.
McCain's answer for the housing crisis was to wait it out, do nothing.
McCain advisor Phil Gramm said that the Recession Is "Mental," and America is a "Nation of Whiners."
Do what?!?
Barack Obama is the first African American presidential candidate. This is someting new. If he can establish a comfort level with the American people, McCain will loose in a landslide.
I understand it is an amazing that the next President may be African-American but how will that possibly change the current state of the US and Americans? Simply, Barrack Obama policies will not offer Americans true change by merely an extension of the primary agenda's of the Bush administration. Both Barrack Obama and John McCain's policies reflect the same 'politics's as usual,' it is immensely unfortunate indeed.
There are many American's who will never vote for a black President.
John McCain wanted to wait out the housing crisis. Sound's Bush-esqe to me. It reminds me of the 3 day delay in bringing relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. McCain supported the invasion of Iraq. McCain's econimic advisor Phil Gramm said that the Recession Is "Mental," and America is a "Nation of Whiners."
McCain wants to continue down the same road that has failed America for the past 8 years.
I understand that racism will unfortuately impede some individuals from voting from voting for Barrack Obama. I agree, I personally oppose John McCain too. But what policies of Barrack Obama will cause revolutionary 'change' for honest hard working Americans that will be different from the Bush administration?
No one can claim to bring about revolutionary change. But over the past 8 years, America has projected a contrary example of what we want to acheive on a World-wide scale. Obama's visit overseas was to show the World, that America has gone slightly off course, but we recognize our errors, and are working to get back on track. Bush's approach was to be a bull in the china shop. That approach does nothing but piss people off. It is impossible to persuade any nation with such an attitude.
Please, Barrack Obama campaign has dramatically promoted that his Presidency embodies 'change,' I have heard him say it on countless occasions whilst lacking substantial policies to reinforce such groundless rhetoric. I totally agree; the Clinton/Bush administration both advocated policies that are directly contrary to the US constitution. 'Slightly off course' is an insulting euphemism.
Obama did not vote against the Iraq War, Ron Paul did. Barrack Obama did not vote against the Patriotic Act, which destroys innocent Americans citizens constitutional rights and civil liberties, Ron Paul did. Barrack Obama aims to merely increase deployment of US troops to Afghanistan; did the US go to Afghanistan to capture Osama Bin Laden/allied terrorists for 9/11 or conduct nation-building? The founding fathers of the US would be shocked at the current nominees of the two major parties.
Its very bad that Obama can rally the world behind him and restore the popularity and strength of our soft power throughout the world. Yeah, coalition building skills is so overrated...its better to be hated and alienate as many people and countries as possible.
John and Cindy McCain should take their $100+ million dollars, and live out John's golden years in retirement.
John McCain has been in the senate for over 25years, and we still don't know where he stands, because like his hair, he flap in the political breeze. What a pathetic campaingn. It's ironic how red-neck racists who won't vote for a black man, and the wealthy snobs who want a tax shelter, have joined forces to support McCain.
It's not that easy---or conveinient. McCain is well-qualified, while obama is ostensibly under-qualified. Besides, he's white, too, and HE is the one shamefully making race an issue. People can see through him and he will lose.
W. Bush was surrounded by some of the most experienced and qualified people in the GOP.
People like Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Donald Rumsfeld. How'd that go?
Your fooling yourself if you don't think that race is an issue in his campaign.
What should be an issue is that McCain is 7 years past retirement age, and it shows. His to economic advisor called the American people wieners, and that we're "imagining" our economic hardships.
Who's talking about Bush, he is similarly unqualified as nobama. Also, who says race isn't an issue in either's campaign. It has been made one by obama several times despite their early agreement to run civil campaigns. Research obama's start in Chicago and you will see the antithesis of civil. Also, the fastest growing age bracket is 85 and over. McCain wil l win, get ready.
LoL but theyll go out of there way to get video clips from the future to make Ron Paul look older if they could

DrJoshMc 3 years ago
You have no clue what you're talking about. You're entitled to dislike my comment but doesn't change the fact that Fox News IS killing MSNBC in the ratings and this IS a lame story.
Your opening sentence is disturbing..."both sides of America's black and white democracy"? There is nothing in my comments that is remotely racial or has anything to do with color lines. It is about journalistic favoritism ad hypocracy.
rockyljp 3 years ago
Perhaps you lack the common ability to understand English or feel that slamming down people with statements like "You have no clue what you're talking about" will build your internet ego. Either way I meant "Black and White" as in "Not gray". I'll forgive you since you've gone into a big racial rant about that misunderstood point. What is the reason why Fox news is killing MSNBC in the ratings? Fox news is McDonalds to MSNBC's boring factual rants.Sadly MSNBC is trying to emulate Fox's overhyping

And dont think for a minute that Obama will stop deficit spending because if he wonts to do universal health care LOOK OUT!
McBlaspheme 3 years ago
it is difficult to take someone serious if they cannot spell and have poor grammatical structure. Iraq is a war that violates US and int'l law, not to mention the moral sickness of it.
trauts01 3 years ago 2
We are already pulling out of Iraq moron. And Obama will only raise taxes for people making over $250,000. Try reading into his stances instead of getting all your info from fox news. LOL drilling for oil wont have results for 7 years. Then assuming theres alot down there MIGHT lower gas prices alittle. Can anyone say gimmick? The rest of the world already thinks were a joke. Ya and privite health care is so much better. That might be why millions of Americans cant afford it.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
What the fuck are you stupid bush isnt pulling out of iraq he even said while he is president that they would never pull out of iraq. And the thing about raiseing taxes is that if you raise taxes for people making over 250,000 what do you think the businesses are going to do stay here while they can all ready make somthing in some 3rd world contry some were for half of what they make it over here? And also fuck fox news. And wtf you mean 7 years it only takes like 1 year to get a oil well going.
McBlaspheme 3 years ago
What? And Obama has already said he would help curve the tide of businesses leaving this country.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
By raising taxes. You seem to not know alot about economics. O and also i just read somthing that he was saying. Hes not talking about raising taxes for people that make above 250,000 hes talking about raising taxes for people that make as low as 35,000 a year. So i dont know what news your listening to but they seem to have a real hard on for obama.

McBlaspheme 3 years ago
Find experts that say we can drill and get oil in 1 year. Not even the McCain people are claiming thats possible. Most experts say 7-10 years. Try not living in a delusional world. Im for offshore oil but if thats the backbone of his plan to get gas prices down then McCain has a problem. I believe we should drill everywere except Anwar.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
Ok here i will give it to you that maybe i m wrong about the 1 year thing. Maybe it is 7-10 years {Which i m pretty sure its not}but look at it this way. What is obama going to do. Hes aginst off shore drilling and he wont drll in this country. So what is he gunna do hes gunna wave his wand of change and oil is going to rain from the sky. The only way gas is going to go down is if we lower taxes and start drilling for oil now. Theres no quick fix to this problem.
McBlaspheme 3 years ago
Do you believe that offshore drilling will bring prices down alot? It wont. It will take at least 7 years to get a drop of that oil. We need to invest in wind, solar, nuclear and coal. By investing more into wind and solar we can free up coal and our own oil supply for cars. Thats what Obama wants to do. McCains answer is to drill more and in 7 years bring down the price alittle. Obamas is to bring down the price alot by investing in wind and solar. Your right there is not short term solution.

collegeswimx, where is your data to support your assertion of Bush giving $4 trillion in tax breaks to the top 2% of earners? Please cite your sources because I'm interested in this subject. Thanks.
sluggo1963 3 years ago 2
collegeswimx, "paying big co's to send our jobs overseas"? Since NAFTA was signed into law, about 1 million jobs have been moved overseas while the U.S. has created nearly 30 million new jobs for its citizens. That's pretty good math. We're in a global economy now. We can't stop the outsourcing of cheaper labor to foreign nations. Doing so would make many U.S. companies less competitive, which would cost even more jobs. The only way to fix the problem is to retrain people for new jobs.
sluggo1963 3 years ago 2
Who do you support then? Please not Barrack Obama.
UNKNOWNPOW 3 years ago
Obama wants to send troops into Pakistan, he thinks there are 57 states in America, he voted for HR 1995, and he thinks socializing healthcare is actually a good idea! McCain wants to stay "10,000 years in Iraq", hand out tax cuts to big american business', probably declare war on Iran, and torture you! ...Bob Barr 08 - He knows how many states there are in America, and he doesn't want to take away habeas corpus (and/or torture you), nor does he want to illegally wiretap US citizens.
indreamweaver 3 years ago
FDR put tens of thousands of German and Japanese American citizens in internment camps during WWII. He also strongarmed Congress to do what he wanted. His power at the time exceeded Bush's by far. And we recovered from that. If our gov't leaders want to wiretap to keep us safe, I think we'll recover from that too.
Re: your remark about handing out tax cuts to the rich...that's a political talking point that IRS data does not support. The rich and big business pay most of our taxes.
sluggo1963 3 years ago
sluggo - I don't disagree with you completely.
Don't take that as a sign of weakness though.
We simply can't afford it.
lakenormanusa 3 years ago

The war in Iraq.
Bush and McCain have now sided with Obama with their "time horizon" for withdrawl. McCain attacked Mitt Romney for even suggesting a time line for troop withdrawl.
Go figure.
The McCain/Bush tax policies give the mega-corps and wealthy a shelter, while the blue collars need to take out a loan just to put gas in their tanks and food on their families tables.
lakenormanusa 3 years ago
McCain is not siding with Obama. Success in Iraq is allowing for a draw down. The surge's original five brigades are already redeployed out of Iraq. And our commanders already are planning for the draw down steadily next year. Had we followed Obama's advice, we would have left Iraq in shame and defeat.
There is plenty to be upset about with the Bush administration, but not tax policy. Today, wealthy individuals pay the highest percentage of U.S. income taxes in history.
sluggo1963 3 years ago
McCain and Bush were steadfast that there would not be a time frame for withdrawl from Iraq. Thus they invented the term, "time horizon." McCain has attempted to use the surge as a political feather in his cap, but lied to the public when he claimed that the Sunni revolt against Al-Qaida in Iraq's Anbar province, "The Awakening," began long before Bush announced his surge policy in January 2007.
Blue collar workers are struggling. Gas is high and jobless rates are rising. Reduce their taxes!!
lakenormanusa 3 years ago
Advertising war plans/timetables to the enemy is not a good idea.
Sure, people are hurting. But not due to tax policy. According to IRS data, the top 1% of income earners pay 40% of America's income taxes. The top 10% pay 71%. Citizens earning under the median income account for 2.9%. And under Bush's policy, 40 million low-income Americans don't even pay taxes. Well-off Americans could pay more. But how much of the obligation should they pay? What's fair in your opinion? 90%?
sluggo1963 3 years ago
I don't have a percentage for you, but America's economic woes are deep rooted. Especially for the blue collar working class. Jobless rates and the cost of living are rising, along with our national debt. The U.S. education system needs to be overhauled to prepare our youth for a competative global market. We also need to aggressively pursue alternative fuels, and stop sending billions to the middle east. Our foreign relations need to be mended after 8 years of Bush arrogance.
lakenormanusa 3 years ago
Maybe now you will concede that current tax policy is not the problem? Oil prices, inflation and our shift from an industrial/manufacturing economy to an innovation and service economy are hurting working class people a lot more than a tax policy that collects more income from wealthy individuals than any other in the last 40 or 50 years. I agree with your remarks about our education system. Despite investing billions to improve it, it is broken and has not adjusted to our changing economy.
sluggo1963 3 years ago
Another serious problem: Today's youth are not as disciplined as in years past. As a nation, we're getting lazier, softer and more apathetic with every generation. (Yet our sense of entitlement is balooning.) So it's difficult to predict whether education reform will really help. It's awfully hard to compete globally when the competition is a lot hungrier than you are.
We need someone who'll lead on those issues (and many others, of course) rather than pander to people.
sluggo1963 3 years ago
John McCain is the epitomy of a panderer.

John McCain and George W. Bush share the same policies. If elected, our country will continue the same downward spiral.
McCain's answer for the housing crisis was to wait it out, do nothing.
McCain advisor Phil Gramm said that the Recession Is "Mental," and America is a "Nation of Whiners."
Do what?!?
Barack Obama is the first African American presidential candidate. This is someting new. If he can establish a comfort level with the American people, McCain will loose in a landslide.
lakenormanusa 3 years ago
I understand it is an amazing that the next President may be African-American but how will that possibly change the current state of the US and Americans? Simply, Barrack Obama policies will not offer Americans true change by merely an extension of the primary agenda's of the Bush administration. Both Barrack Obama and John McCain's policies reflect the same 'politics's as usual,' it is immensely unfortunate indeed.
UNKNOWNPOW 3 years ago

UNKNOWNPOW 3 years ago

Talk about elitest.
McCain is scary, he'll lose.
