If Aaron wanted more freedom/creative expression, his band should sign to an indie label instead of a major. There'd be less interference from the company. Then though, he of course would not make much of a living or be as successful as he is so it's a double-edged sword.
This is one of my favorite songs by them. I hope they can make awesome songs like this or earlier heavy songs for their next record. Illusion of Progress was dull, slow, sappy, and boring...that was a progress of sucking because it sucked big time.

The "paper jesus" in this song isn't the bible. It's a reference to the money that some people worship almost like it's their god. How it consumes their life. So please just shut up about it being about religion.

in an interview Aaron stated he wrote this song about the record companies and the music industry because hes angry at the music industry, to him it seems that money is all they care bout more than the music.

Christianity today is more of a cult... the churches (most) are just using tithing to get money for a one-hour speech on sunday. though i do believe there is a God and Jesus died, the majority of churches today, pull us away. sorry, i got off on a speech. i used to be a strong christian, then i got tired of trying to please everylast living creature in that place. it gets old living a life thats not yours. dont reply to my comment plz. i dont want an argument. i just wanted to put in my opinion.

Rockers liek us don't care about relgion, christians have been opposed to people having a good time since the beginning and should losen up. If their faith is strong, little things like this song shouldn't bother them. And remember theres a lot more blasfimous(sp) things to preach about.

We live in America. A protestant founded nation. Most people aren't exposed to any other form of Christianity other than roman catholicism or protestantism, sadly.

Religion, yes. Spirituality, no. And there is a significant difference between the two. And with respect to Christianity - since it's being mentioned so much here - true Christianity is centered around a personal relationship with Christ, as expressed in the Holy Bible, not religious dogma, which most churches push today - protestant, catholic or otherwise. And true Christianity is NOT based upon either fear or guilt, but rather love, mercy and forgiveness.
