  • that was the moment i started crying it was so beautiful....a ridiculous amount of money well spent:)

  • Zep's version is the ONLY version...everything else just pays homage in a less way.

  • jpj... i worship you

  • thanks

  • genial......

  • He says, "Piano... John Paul Jones".

By the way, this is played in a Cm instead of a Dm so that Little Robert Anthony can hit the notes. Best version of this EVER is Seattle 3-17-75. Find it. Learn from it. Is 25 min long (no video)

  • what does plant say at the end ???

  • i think if any band should have covered led zeppelins no quarter. it should have been tool, and zeppelin should be happy with the cover. I personally like to listen to both. TOOL is the pink floyd of our times. GEN X

  • Page and John Paul Jones have both mentioned Tool as a modern band they listen to.

  • Tool DID do No Quarter. Where have you been for the last 15 years? It's on a limited release called Salival. You're welcome.

  • I know tool did a cover genius. I stated that in my comment. stratoblaster, Thanks asshole.

  • I was just trying to help you out you dumb fuck. Where did you learn english? You wrote "should have covered" and "should have been tool". Those aren't statements that tool did a cover, they're statements that you wish tool did a cover. Well, at least you can spell "asshole". Now go look in the mirror and you can see one, too.

  • HAHAHAHA

  • my faverite genre is psychadellic hard rock=tool but bother versions are sweet.ZEPP's version is k more relaxing and soothing but yet tool's version is harder and more intense. Both one of the greatest bands

  • I agree. Zeppelin's version is more ominous. More sinister \m/

  • All I can say is "oh my Sweet Lord that was too fuckin' amazing"

  • the only song written by John Paul Jones sololy...

  • To all who have commented before me,kiss my ass.

  • Einemage if u say that LZ have a bad songs - now i know who u are... There's no 'bad' songs. Maybye different.. Tool version is for metal maniacs or just for ppl who dont feel this climate which LZ did - so much magical psychedelic feelin in the air. Tool lost it, added 'metal' taste. Led Zeppelin's music (and mainly this song)is... yes - unexplainable. So please dont try to beat everyone here with ur IQ and number of posts just because ur good in mouth. Led Zeppelin made a MASTERPIECE. Period

  • I don't care anything about the Tool version of this song. In my opinion it sucks. However, I don't believe any of Tool's original material sucks. And besides, I arrived at this video while trying to watch the original Led Zeppelin version which I love. And to say that Tool is for 'metal maniacs' is baseless ignorance. Tool has not even been anything close to metal since Opiate. And maybe you do know who I am but I don't think so. Just try to understand what I'm writing.

  • Tool has never had to resort to singing "Baby baby" over and over in so many of their songs. Therefore Tool has produced less bad material than Led Zeppelin. And there are so many of us out there who understand and have directly experienced Tool as a logical progression of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. And this "magical psychedelic feelin" you've had listening to Led Zeppelin, so have I. But I've experienced this to greater extents with Tool while on LSD, psylocibin and mescaline.

  • LSD and Mescalin are all ive known to do for many years now when I listen to the tool version lol

  • the tool version is to be listened to after droppin a tab of acid. The origional is weed music for me.

  • It's hard to explain what i feel listenin to Zepp's No quarter. About ur post - Its so cuz u havent caught that freakin awesome amazing psychedelic climate which they made. Tool spoiled that. The beggining is quite good, but later.. Maybye its very good for noding on concerts. Anyway they made other kind of music, in this kind of music it's not bad, quite nice. Period

  • well, to a certain extent i agree with you. Slightly because you cant really beat the original lol

  • haha yup thats true for basically any song

  • yup lol

  • I really respect Led Zeppelin, but I prefer tool's version.

  • Crowbar does No Quarter way better than Tool.

  • yeah this is pretty sweet man

    zeppelin all the way!

  • solo is un freaking bekievable

  • thank god for click tracks. Nice job Jason.

  • i wouldve killed to have been there on that reunion :(

  • Tool is just good band playing nowadays. But Zeppelin... They were GODS, absolutely genious - they were just immortal. They have many beautiful masterpieces. No Quarter is one of them.

  • That is ignorant of how Tool's audience feels about them in this day and age. I've been listening to Led Zeppelin since long before I ever heard of Tool. With that being said Led Z hasn't come close to blowing me away the way Tool has. They don't even have a single bad song. Something that cannot be said for Led Zeppelin.

  • Tool version sux, its good for fuckin black, death, and all metal maniacs! It doesnt have such a beautiful psychodelic taste as Zepp's version.

  • Tool is WAY better than any black, death or other metalband...

I can't judge the version of no quarter because i haven't heard it properly but i'm sure it's fine, perhaps not better than the original but simply different

  • you have got to be kidding me. you're joking right? that my friend, is laughable.

  • yeah ummm, wait about thirty years and get back to me on that. don't throw around shit like "tool has always been better than zep". no one will care about tool in ten years. i can't believe i evern replied to your comment; it doesn't deserve the dignity of an answer.

  • hahahaha, here's reality dude. the amount of teenage population that knows who tool pales in comparison to zeppelin. any teenager who is in to rock and roll knows and listens to zeppelin way before they might have heard of tool. and about zeppelin writing songs for money...raise your IQ and get back to me...just because their songs were so damn good that they are one the top grossing bands of all time doesn't mean that they only did it for the money. don't hate them for being legends.

  • + 1. and if it wasn't for Zep, you Probably wouldn't have 'Tool' as they have done so many Zep Covers. so you shot yourself in the foot there.

  • congratulations you just failed to make a single point in your reply. it was not coherent and had no basis.

  • oh i thought you were the apcbabe dude who doesn't know much.

  • You must be very dazed. Tool's inspiration is drawn in large part from Led Zeppelin. Carey's biggest inspiration as a percussionist is Bonham. And my IQ is over 150, so go raise your IQ before even posting any more comments on Youtube.

  • wow i clearly am not worthy of such a dominant intellectual force; one can only hope to accrue a small portion of the knowledge you possess. that being said i don't think tool's transcended anything, but that's because my IQ hovers around a meager 60; America's top schools have been recruiting retards as of late. If tool's transcended you it is satisfactory is it not?

  • Damn, your IQ hovers around 60? Im terribly sorry. Were you born this way?

  • yup. you're sweet.

  • So you're not just very dazed, you are actually borderline retarded. And that is by your own admission. Or perhaps that was just sarcasm. Anyway, the point is, you insulted perhaps the greatest band of this generation in defense of Led Zeppelin while demonstrating a complete lack of perception at the true nature of two historical phenomenons. Many of us who grew up on Led Zeppelin have found great joy and familiarity in the 'Tool experience.' I recognize that some may not regard or accept this.

  • alas, i simply do not "accept this."

  • I think the fact that you thought he was serious just shows how stupid you are, along with the fact that you tried posting your IQ as some sort of comeback. Stop trying to talk intelligently and realize the fact that everybody has different tastes and opinions that you have to try to respect, although your 150 IQ hasn't helped you there at all. You should also use your IQ to improve your grammar. Starting sentences with conjunctions is wrong, although you may not "regard or accept" it. Dumbass.

  • lol im sure theyre not gettin paid.

  • Im a teenager and i love led zeppeling i dont even know who the fuck tool is ! All i know IS LED ZEPPELIN ROCKS !

  • "led zeppelin" not "led zeppelinG"..

if u love em, first try to know how they call.

  • calm down thats just a fuck up ! And i know how there called Stummer kopf

  • Why is this even a competition of Tool vs Zeppelin. I am a huge fan of both bands. They are both genius creative forces in different times. Both are transcendental and speak to the soul. That being said, Tool is and will always be better.

  • Tool could not possibly have done "it" better. "It" is not their song to do it better with. However zepp does it, at the time that they do it and in the version they so choose, will always be the best. The original song writer is the who decides how it should go to be considered the best.

  • Did i ever say it was Tool's song? NO. I said the lead singer of Led Zeppelin said that Tool did a better version of their song.

  • sorry to ruin your little world, but plant was just being nice. hes a nice guy.

    Tool's kind of a joke...

  • tell that to the millions of people who love them.

  • kdone

  • kdone

  • don't ever say tool is a joke, the way i see it, tool is this generation's led zeppelin, and tool's favorite band is led zeppelin, tool is great, zeppelin is way great to

  • youre so stupid

    you know nothing about music

    don't mess with zeppelin

  • just the thought of a jimmy page solo makes me soil my pants and spray my shorts

  • AMAZING BAND

  • them bastards in the audience need to shut the hell up and sit down, but Perfect performance after all these years and John Bonham's son played very well

  • tears in my eyes

i have the john paul jones symbol tatood' on my right arm; damn that 'charmed' sitcom for using it. im still waiting for that show to be canceled, led zep should sue their ass!

  • ugh, that show actually used that? lame!

  • Errr btw that is a pegan symbol, so i'm assuming john pau jones is pegan that's why he put the symbol on, it isn't his own. Also i think it means body mind and soul, and in some norse mytholigy it reprsents some sea goddess. Lol nice to know that when it's already perm on your skin eh lol ;) Body mind and soul one is not a bad idea though.

  • 5:47-6:03...current state of the world, put into notes and music

  • very, very interesting comment!

    and impressive . . .

  • but are you sure you got the timing right . . .

  • what the fuck are you talking about?

  • nothing really

  • move yer head.

    great song, incredible band

  • i am so envious of you damn you are so lucky to see this great peformence LED ZEPPELIN FOR EVER

  • fantastic song luv zeps please tour.

  • This truely 1 of my favorite songs. The exchange between Jimmy and John and John on the live version via the song remains the same , awsome. This sounds good too, listining as I type. I always liked the live version best. Can't wait for the Live DVD of this show. Loved how the west was one.

  • just too emotional watching it what great memories ....cry cry cry...please tour you are the best we love John Paul Jones just fantastic thanks for posting.

  • Anyone who was there please answer me this. I saw Zep in 70 and then again prior to the Phys Graf release. Jimmy overdubbed so much as he is a great arranger but on stage he seems to struggle at times except on his solos but JPJ always picked up the rhythm and covered alot of his mistakes. How good were they this time. Honestly?

  • well you can hear jimmy pretty good right? check out dazed and confuse from the o2 concert, after the solo, when he does the power chords they struggle, and rock and roll (last song of the night ) doesnt sound too* hot (maybe they were getting tired), those are two examples of the worst ive seen do far from this concert...dont get me wrong though, they are human and this is as good as humans can do, they rocked

  • cool. too bad that big buffoon in front of you couldn't have been courteous enough to sit down.

  • l was that big bafoon you sweaty little lesbo

  • looooooooooooool sit down xD

  • YIPPIE !! I found No quarter! John paul jones ROCKS!!!

  • this is byfar one of their best songs!

  • houses of the holy is my favorite zep album.

    JPJ is amazing!

  • Geezz....wished I was there! Missed a brilliant performance by the legends!!

  • About on the same level as '77, nice

  • pure awesomeness!

  • I agree with christschool. Important gig screwed up big time. I just hope they go on the road!

  • yeah rite it was a one off. thats it no more re-unions

  • Page commented that if the reunion went well they would consider touring. And judging by these videos it went very well!

  • ur an idiot if u think that they aren't going to tour

  • oh you are SOOOOOOOOO WRONG!!

  • I wish that prick would sit down.

  • Whoever was the sound engineer for Zep's concert should be fired and banned from ever working a concert again. The amount of feedback at this concert from the short clips I've seen is incompetent! One of the most important concerts in the last 40 years and this guy screws it up!

  • quit you whining its mostly cos of a guy recording it on a shitty camera

  • If you knew anything about sound engineering, you would recognize the feed back as amp backfeed. Cellphones have distortion because of their low audio bit rate and is a completely different sound than ampfeed back. If you read the professional reviews, they also mention the amp backfeed. By the way, the abbreviation for because is cuz, not cos.

  • For Zeppelin, a little amp feeback is welcomed over the normal, nowadays polished generic sound...the sound at this show seems incredible...a few hicups is not something to get your panties in a bunch about...go watch a Creed video or something...

  • Greg,

I grew up on Zeppelin (attended 28 of their concerts). I don't even know who the fuck Creed is. It's because I love Led that I want to hang the sound engineer (who has nothing to do with Led Zeppelin, he was supplied by Warner Bros.) No, amp feedback is like pissing on Robert, Jimmy, and John Paul. You can bet the band is pissed!

  • No, it is actually 'cause, stop txting.

  • I agree with that to a point, I heard some good audio and it sounds GREAT

  • lo mas grande!!!!

  • Good sound considering - pity about being behind Marj Simpson - terrible view
