  • I agree, I saw the Foo in Austin in 96, origional drummer and long haired davey.

  • Dave's voice is in a awesome shape in this perfomance

  • this is from 1997 because they just got taylor hawkins in 1997 and this was before pat left the band in late 1997

  • I've been looking for this video everywhere. You can really tell how loud and powerful their amps, songs, and live performances are...

  • so much energy... so fast paced... guitars so heavy... dave... awesome as always... this... is the perfect version of monkey wrench...

  • it was in 1997 because in 1996 taylor wasnt in the band and dave had long hair until 1997, sounds stupid but you can check out the pictures of the concerts in the foo fighters web

  • i have a newfound respect for this song after hearing it performed live..its so fucking badass

and if its true this is from 1996, i can't believe it, that seems like such a long time ago to me, I remember this song and loving the video..

  • THAT was the coolest monkey wrench 'breakout' ever!

  • hang on, sorry, it was called tfi friday!

  • this was on a uk show called' don't forget your toothbrush' and it was the first televised performance with taylor in the band!

  • Holy shit that was awesome!

  • The fucking most kickass Monkey Wrench ever!

  • it can't be a 1998 performance because Pat Smear (in this video) left the band in 1997.

  • This performance is from the summer of 1998 on Much Music.

  • It's from a '96 performance on a show that used to be On Channel 4 in the UK. Sadly the name slips my mind.
