Wow, I've heard of Columbine, but I never really knew this full story. If he hadn't been tackled by those very brave kids, this could have been one of the worst shootings, and the perpetrator would have most likely committed suicide, and couldn't have been questioned.

@AlmostDutchman He didn't have the chance to turn the gun on himself, but it seemed his plan may have been to commit suicide by cop. He was tackled and held down by several students while he was reloading his rifle. After they wrestled the rifle away, he shot one of the boys holding him down with one of two hidden pistols which the boys took away.

I was a 1st grader in Gresham on May 21, 1998 and just remember being so sad that people had gotten hurt without really understanding what happened.

I remember this tragedy vaguely. I remember when it happened but don't remember much after. I was in high school then so didn't follow it much though I recall being with my mother where I live in Virginia when a Special Report on the national news came on. I am on this video because I am researching for my own information before having an opinion, when local schools where I live should expel students and when its an over reaction. RIP to the victims of these terrible tragedies.

when i was about five i remember having this loud and crazy scary pounding at my front door. i heard a scream and my mom answered the door this lady ran into my house with blood all over her. the guy who was shot in the head was standing right br his girlfriend when he was shot and that girl was now standing in my living room.

i lived right across the street from thurston high school. that was a pretty crazy and horrible day.

The actions of these boys are not justified but we can understand that they are a consequence of a sick society and the environment the boys where all raised in. You cant blame them and it's rather pointless to do so but we can try to understand why they would do that and attempt to change things to prevent such things actions from repeating themselves. A learning a experience for all of us.
