@fatewiz National sport? Since when? I must have missed all the world cups Qatar have taken part in and all the great club teams and players the country has produced. I also must have over looked it's strong entertaining league. The only thing Qatar has done for football is add the corruption and detriment of our game by buying the right to host a World Cup.

I've seen "you white people" in other posts, and such sweeping generalizations are uncalled for. Qatar didn't deserve to host the World Cup. I wouldn't be surprised if many countries boycott the World Cup that year.

The stadia in Qatar will be half empty because the average person over there won't be able to afford a ticket. European and N/S American fans will not travel in numbers because Airlines will x5 the price of plane tickets as usual.

The fact is the countries hosting the 2018 and 22 world cups paid for the privilege, wrongly those world cups went to the highest bidders. That is not how it should work.
