  • Now I know y Ive never heard of this film, rip off of the Thing much

  • I think it's bad and somewhat stupid. Unconvincing. But this is a "monster movie" which I hadn't heard of before. Gonna watch it through. Thanks for posting.

  • 1:37 The "THINK" sign kinda reminds me of "THE THING"

  • 5:35 totally gratuitous , , , but I'll take it!

  • its kinda like the movie the thing

  • @tataluvsu2317 More like a blend of The Thing and Alien.

  • @KuunLan87 especially considering how Stan Winston created the Dog-Thing for the famous kennel sequence, and Jerry Goldsmith composed the score for "Alien" (and almost got the job at scoring "The Thing")

  • haha what a stinker!

  • The movie suddenly got stupid...

  • Reminds alot of the movie Alien.

  • so I take it the first one that when't into the sea is still alive because the second one was fine in the sea but I take it the film makers forgot about that

  • For the doc to be so worried about contagion, he sure doesn't make anyone wear gloves.

  • Ernie Hudson: The best actor in the movie lol

  • The Latino Guy should take some acting lessons.

  • i dont get it from what are they so infectet and what should it be?

  • @blackwing2blader the flask that sixpack took, he drank most of it and gave some of it to bowman

  • people should be freaking out more: no sense of claustrophobia

  • if they dont know its contagious why do they feel so comfortable touching the sick bitch and six pack???

  • @swayone69 lol so so true

  • Dude he shoulda done a barrel roll... Now hes prolly infected...

  • 1:29

Anyone else think its odd the black guy would look right at this huge freak where 6-pack was. Then NOT seem to care this tentacle critter was moving all around ? XD

  • "... I also like to think they've got some kind of a commitment to their people."

"You can save that speech for their ad campaign. This company's commitment is to the almighty dollar!"

Like any and all corporations then.

  • yeah and the other one is hot too

  • 6:43-6:49 Sounds like he's gone back to describing Rambo.

  • Comment removed

  • Uh,why didnt these people IMMEDIATELY RESURFACE???And keeping a crew members death a secret---Real dumb.

  • @brianbela

it's a movie dude ... if they were that smart the film would've ended after 15 minutes or so :D

  • @XxTestProfilxX "Its a movie dude"---It IS?? Wow you're brilliant! I had no idea!!! Thank you so much for your wisdom "Professor".

  • @brianbela

sheesh chill cowboy ... I bet you are one of those people who jump up in cinema and yell "OH NO DON'T GO IN THERE... HE'S GOING IN THERE... DAYUM MAN I TOLD YOU SO!!!"

  • 9:38 "You don't know SHIT about skiing, man!!"

  • "Natura non confundenda est."

  • Cthulu!

  • It's The Thing just underwater :D

  • hey remember the scary fish that came at six-pack when he was exploring the ship what if the mutant when they dumped the body into the sea what if it asborbed the fish as it's main head?? it's very possible the fish was about the same size

  • Can anyone tell what exactly the latin quote Doc uses is?

  • @KuunLan87 try watching the scene again

  • damn straight. don't fuck with mother nature

  • Ok kids, put down your chocolate milk and your graham crackers. Leviathan was just a movie, and it came BEFORE (thats in front of), Resident Evil OR Dead Space, ok got that? Good. Continuity, who cares? It's a movie, not a fucking documentary about Russian genetics experiments gone wrong. Why didn't they do this, or that. Dur, it's a movie. Most characters in movies are stupid beyond belief, just like real life characters. I fear the future when you people are all grown up and in middle mgmt.

  • @xXdoctorXXGoNzOXx HAHA! You are SO right! What fucking ignoramuses. Wanna know what's really scary? They ARE grown up! Let's hope none of them work in nuclear plants with their fingers anywhere near the button.

  • @xXdoctorXXGoNzOXx How about The Thing?

  • cool movie, love peter weller, highly underrated actor^^

  • I wonder if more than one piece of the mutation remained aboard. At 8:19, just after Doc and Beck end their conversation there's evidence that it entered the room by breaking through the grille in the vent pipe, but a little later it's shown in the swamp where Williams is jogging. Not long after that it attacks Dejesus from the kitchen cabinet. Either this thing moves really fast, there's more than one, or it's a continuity error.

  • How can you sit there going shhhh shhhhh shhhh shhhhh? lol

  • Lol one big probelm though we don't know if the thing can go underwater this sea creature can oh also what this thing is doing is devouring plasma and assimilating because the creature sucks the plasma in blood cells from the humans then sucks them as a part of it's body

  • WTF, they didn't get rid of the tentacle after they already knew the critter was all about monstrous mutations?! Darwin Awards!

  • @flymurdererfly You mean the part that broke off? They didn't know it was there, I'm sure they would have reacted had they seen it. But it happened on the other side and the sound of the descending elevator was supposed to be covering the noise up.

  • @Goldenkitten1 Ah, that makes so much more sense, thanks :)

  • der film ist auf dauer................langweilig

  • Theres a scene in Resident Evil 2 that looks just like the one in this movie, the one with the tentacle.

  • uh, maybe its time to tell the others..?

  • Haaaaaa i now stop to seee! its too much scary...

  • @MrErthelois damn nature you scary

  • some guy says dont fuck with mother nature , another bunch realy dont care about mother nature, thast still going on this very day

and what do you care ?

  • aww... the red haired one is hot.. why´d that have to happen?...

  • @chrisnasif

    The THING!

    @poke3p1

    Chuck Norris.

Now, if the thing were to assimilate Chuck Norris, well, I think we all know what would happen...

  • this creature vs the thing? most def the thing! the thing is an alien that has assimilated hundreds of other lifeforms and is essentially the ultimate creature. u kno what tho? these creatures both fall under category "Assimilator" so both of their goals would be to devour the other one...which would make things REALLY weird, cuz if one tries assimilating the other, then the other's cells will try to do the same, it'll probly form 1 huge creature literally at war with its own cells...

  • chuck norris vs leviathan! who would win?

  • Leviathan vs. The Thing (John Carpenter's) who would win in a fight to the death? I vote the Thing.

  • @chrisnasif of course the thing would win it can take the form of any other life form

  • @DinoDude16 also the thing is a badass, this is a foul fish creature.

  • @5355vbxjbj76rvn

This movie really doesn't have anything in common with "The Thing". You are trying to compare an alien to a mutating virus.

  • 7:00 to 7:08, best quote in a film since "I am your father!"

  • um...suicide...in the shower?...really if your going to kill yourself please dont make such a mess...and do it in a place everyone has to enter...

  • This is "The Thing" minus the dogs and the snow, set underwater instead of in an ice station (or whatever that place was). With influence from "Alien", "Aliens", "The Deadly Spawn", & probably a lot more films

  • The Thing so alike

  • its like the movie jhon carpenters ,the thing. genetic monster

  • @tinymanthebeast actually the thing was an alien...

  • was this a part from six-pack or the girl?

  • 02:00 Id be freaking out !!! lol

    AHAHAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

  • they shold rename this film the Alien Thing, from the Abyss

  • @dave00dance Could not have said it any better!!! lmao.

  • @dave00dance

    what if they're related ! :O

  • @dave00dance There WERE a few others, in space, etc. Well, the moral of the story is Don't FU*K with Mother Nature! hahaha Nature always finds a way

  • 6 pac died so did 2 pac

  • remenber dead space or dead space remenberthat because this is old tha ds

  • at 8:41 my computer fucked up and it wouldnt show me the rest so could sombody please tell me what happend after that

  • @eggmicmuffins

    ## You didn't miss anything much :) - the 83 seconds, that you didn't see, showed them trying to deal with the deaths, & arguing because they had different ways of doing so.

  • @5355vbxjbj76rvn hm...they might wanna give that meld a viking funeral (why the f did the bodies fuse...and why were they on top of each other anyway?)

  • @randomancrossoverfan Probably to increase total body mass, providing more nutrients for a bigger beast!

To everyone else: I don't like the theme of "don't F with nature." They say that from a highly advanced underwater environment which was constructed only after hundreds of years of F'ing with nature. Their clothes, the food they eat, their jobs, it's all a result of F'ing with nature, which is all fine and good.

  • LOL they just left that mutated lopped off leg in the bay!

  • mmmm i dont know about u guys but wouldn't scream when you see somebody just killed themselve?

  • Any monster with lots of teeth has to be good.

  • lol Beck's fairly laidback considering what he's just seen. lol

  • @Paxtin Probably because he's off his face on vodka the whole time, lol.

  • @Paxtin LOL Yeah I think he far too relaxed and calm about everyone turning into goo sticky substance on hospital bed.

  • this movie is the result of alien and the thing having a baby

  • to be honest, i was disappointed when they the black guy, i was very happy when they killed the spic....i would of killed him in the first place when strange things where begin to happen!

  • whos mark?

  • i wouldnt mind ass-imulating with bowman, know what i'm saying?

  • Damn, that one miner goes black really fast.

One moment he's all "The weather might not be perfect for a resurface"

Next he's all "Shit man, dey put that shit in the fuckin' vodka! They don't know what they drinkin!"

  • Mark is such a bitxh you love to hate

  • Wow. Interestingly realistic psychological reactions at the end. This movie is not half bad, even though it's freaking slow and the premise is old and ze monster could use some work.

  • man, that was nasty!

  • 6:17~6:22・・ looks like resident evel 2!

  • Im a big fan of jigsaw puzzles I like the part where they show the finished puzzle, cool scene Id work on it too

  • Dont fuck with Mother Nature.

  • good advice

  • @EmpireLS56KW Cause mother nature will fuck ya right back xD

  • @gmanleader0 I have Leviathan on region1DVD that’s had more showings that Avatar will ever have in my home!

I had to pause this while eating my evening meal. I don’t fancy watching six-pack going though some slimy regeneration! LOL

  • @gmanleader0 what does "xD" mean English not phone text please English.

  • @EmpireLS56KW xD is a smiley, kinda like LOL, meaning i'm either laughing or amused.

  • @gmanleader0 Well LOL would have sufficed that much I do know about “laughing out loud” (LOL).

Whoa that is grim when the Doc finds Bowman in the shower and the rest of the crew, that is grim I mean its almost like watching an EMO topping themselves off naked in the shower, with bread knife.

  • @EmpireLS56KW It's a smiley face with squinted eyes as if squeezed tight from hilarious laughter. X-D Maybe you can see it better with a nose in there :D

  • @EmpireLS56KW wtf?

  • @EmpireLS56KW why the f did the arm grow an alien tongue mouth?

  • @randomancrossoverfan Maybe that’s what six-packs last thoughts where about sex with Bowman was? LOL

  • so basically its like the thing only it was man made instead of an alien

  • Major fuckin bummer. she was hot as fuck.

  • why were they on each other at 3:00 ?

  • They grow together to create a more intelligent entity. Sixpack and Bowman's knowledge and skill together would make quite a "pair", I mean monster.

  • Is that a giant turkey drumstick?

  • No that not just the Thing...no....no...No...IT'S THE FISH THING!

  • its the thing!

  • In deep sea, no one can hear you scream!

Actually this movie is like a "rip-off" from Alien, The Thing, The Abyss with the actors and actresses that are well known to their infamous role (or not) and movie.

I still find it scary even if I've seen it many times!! BUT it can bever beat the classic: The Thing and Alien! I like the Abyss too! It's good!! >:D

  • Abyss isnt Horror. I like this movie. Yeah, it rips off... But it works quite well... Its a good idea.

  • "Alright guys, two of you are dead and we just dumped a hideous amorphous blob of teeth, claws and goo into the ocean.

So now EVERYONE RUN OFF AND STAY OUT OF SIGHT AND EARSHOT OF EVERYONE ELSE."

  • Damn that was a fine ass at 09:29 and a nice pair of jugs in the shower scene too.

  • isn't that carrie's mom? o_O

  • Very similar to "The Thing".

  • @Modrzew1988

It´s not similar it´s the same ;-) Ok no ice and snow but the same terror alien thing.

  • I like how that guy looks at the coffee at 8:56

  • me too O.o

  • I'm not going to be a deep sea diver after seeing this.

  • its a dangerous job anyways

  • 05:44 sexy

  • damn amanda pays is sexy in this....wow....beautiful body...

  • yeah this movie has a few similarities to the thing, but it has a lot of differences too, there is nothing completely NEW under the sun, lol, good movie....

  • I remember in 1989 the glut of undersea movies

    Deep Star Six

    Leviathan

    The Abyss

  • Much better than the shit they call movies nowadays

  • MAC WANTS THE FLAMETHROWER!!!!

  • I'm feeling much better now. I hear strange things out here.

I don't want to stay out here anymore. I want to come back inside.

  • haha, wow is this movie a THING ripoff? and WTF were antarctic researchers doing with flame-throwers anyway?

  • Oh, that?

The flamethrower was for de-icing the helicopter pad.

    Ask a silly question...

  • Hmmmm!! Let's think about that one genius....What is in absolute abundance within the antartic?????

    Oh Yeah!! SNOW/ICE!!!!

Now let's see...what can Researchers use to melt that stuff almost instantly off anything if necessary???

    Ahhh YES!! Heat/Flame!!!!

Wow you suuuuure know how to come up with the tough ones!!

Don't Fuck with The Thing...it IS the ULTIMATE Sci-Fi/Horror film in every way, "shape and form!" LOL!!

  • why was she screaming in the shower

  • Probably because of the previous incident. Who cares anyway, it was hot.

  • So why did Bowman kill herself? Or did she really kill herself or was it the mutation? Anyone know?

  • She saw what happened to Sixpack and knew she was going the same way... so chose to off herself.

  • Oh, OK. Smart move...I guess...

  • she killed herself because she saw the mutation of six pack and she didn't want to become a monster like six pack

  • Question, if she cut through her wrist on one hand, how did she grip the scalpel to cut the other?

  • used her mouth ? or her foot ?

  • @firmingitup she was so distraught that she didn't want to be like sixpack u know

  • oh yuck, i had a hunch this was the film with two people melting/merging into one....eeeew

    there goes my appetite

  • So does that mean you don't want your Chicken Egg Foo Yung?

  • "What if we run outta air planes one day doc, what're we gonna invent a bunch of bird people?" That's a great saracstic line from the one and only Peter Weller!

  • See what happens when you eat tv dinners?!

  • What are you? Stupid idiot or something? Learn correct English, then return. Otherwise stfu!

  • this movie is the same as The Thing. infecting human by some kind of disease from far away

  • The disease was an experiment conducted by the Russians to try and create a human-fish hybrid that is self-replicating and can survive on both land and sea.

  • He's right its like they took the setting from the Alien and the monster from The Thing

  • Not a disease, but exactly what they said, genetic alteration, where one organism will minipulate another organism to replicate itself ( much in the same manner that a virus manipulates a healthy cell to replicate the virus ), with the difference here being the minipulation transforms one organism into another.

  • So, the Thing wasn't from outer space... it was those pesky russians again.

  • Yed, have to watch the " red Menance " ;)

  • Whats worse than an alien, monster, mutant or psychotic robot?

    A GODdman commie bastard.

  • I meant the disease here, in Leviathon, well, is man made experiment, not from outer space like The Thing. The Thing was a shape-shifting creature that can replicate it's victims to perfection. There are many similarities to the Thing, but the disease isn't.

  • This movie was pretty cool 4 bein oldskool , theres sci fi movies these days with better graphics that suck ass.

  • This part of the film goes back (mono) weird youtube isnt the original medium cinema is the original and this was awesome in Dolby stereo SR type!

  • so what is this whole movie about

  • She said,

    "Fuck That!"

  • also, this and the other underwater monster films were rushed into production to capitalise on the abyss, which was also in production at the time. except that the plot of the abyss was tightly guarded, so they assumed that that film, based on james cameron's previous Aliens, was going to be something to do with evil aliens or monsters underwater (which of course it wasn't). hence the glut of similar movies all in the same year.

  • the original script for alien 3 had similarities to this film. it was about genetic mutations and cold war biological warfare(or at least a future version of it). but then this film came out and was part of the reason it was scrapped.

  • God Bless the 80's (though this movie is right on the cusp)... It would have been interesting if the film had better explored the theme of genetic alteration -- that could have better separated it from both The Thing and Alien -- two films which I think we can all agree had an overwhelming influence on this production. Still, "cabin fever" sci-fi/action/thrillers such as this are always enjoyable.

  • this definitely an alien rip-off, but the tension building isn't worth much an the horror scenes aren't very exciting. The thing has got a similar story line to this movie but is waaaaay better!!!

  • "Don't fuck with mother nature."

  • There are whiffs of Alien here, as well...what with the giant, uncaring company.

  • it sort of feels like a half assed rip off of alien crossed with some elements of the thing
