This is my lil brother LANCE CAMERON song. We used to listen to it all the time. Now he is gone exactly 1 yr and 3 day's after my oldest brother GREGORY LEWIS.When I hear this song it descibes my brother to a T! He was a good man, loved his 2 children VERY MUCH , left an IMPACT on all he came into contact with, and is GREATLY MISSED AND LOVED!! R.I.P. BROTHER'S
damn you BR...I just can't get you out of my mind, system, heart or anywhere you exist....the universe works in mysterious ways! listening to this song doesn't make it any easier..has anyone ever told you, YOU'RE STUBBORN and HARDHEADED..... it's time to come home... you need to come home to ME!
I'm sorry for everything! It wasn't supposed tobe this way! Thank you for the beautiful memories we made, for all the fun and laughter we shared...... for sharing this beautiful song....through the good times and bad times, through all the ugliness... there will always be something we will never be forget....the times we listened to this song together and you asking me to "take my hand".... PEACE and LOVE to you!
To my soul mate whom through thick & thin we made it another day thank you God because I fill truly blessed for my family and friends, to all my family thanks for always being there when I needed you and for my friends you no whom you are thank each and everyone of you, and again thank GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there's only one person that comes to mind when I hear this song.. that's you BR! this is our song, always! I love you and letting the entire world know "from the depths of my soul" I LOVE YOU!
I am very happy to see this video back on the net! This video is my all time favorite. I miss this video. The visuals have a connection to the infinite. I think every one should understand we are only here for a very short time. enjoy life, the connectivity of our environment, the human bodies with spirits in them, and that the we need to practice our mortality.
The other day I was at a bus stop in L.A, just got off work, lit a spliff, and a bum with his radio was playing this song..I was immediately transfixed and sent to a serene place. It felt so good! I couldn't remember the name of the song until a few minutes ago, and I got the same feeling all over again.
When I was 14 and had a Motown Collection on vinyl...1972, I used to think this reminded me of Amelia Earhart. The arrangement made me think her plane, lying on the ocean floor and sun filtering through down to where she rested. It had this eerie, ethereal quality to it.
The Funk Brothers brought this piece alive. You can feel James Jamerson all throughout this song.

P is for the privilege of loving and the privilege of being loved.
E is for the Ease it gives the soul and the Mind.
A is for the Absence in your search to find yourself.
C is the Calm you feel if you like what you find.
E is everlasting.

I've always heard that the 4 tops started out as a jazz combo in the early '50s. Their jazz background is really evident on this great record.
