@Bruno1986BR I know what it means to be stuck in the closet. In my case I had a Catholic mother and a Marine for a father. I was so scared to tell them that I was BI. I know some don't agree that being Bi exists, but it hurts when you like both genders and your family does not know who you are. I thought my parents were going to be like Winston in this show. Turned out they were more like Luke's parents. Hope you through the door in the wood chipper, lol.

Yea, weird. Van seems so natural in his portrayal of Luke...although I have to say that recently (and this is the writing I think, not Van's acting) Luke and Noah's scenes are so "platonic" - they hardly ever kiss hello or goodbye, it's like the writers don't want to make the audience "uncomfortable" with any gay affection. He really WANTED to want Maddie - he didn't want to want Luke, didn't want to be gay. Noah's father has been manipulating him his entire life. Noah has no other family members to even counteract the Col.'s lies and control freak behavior. It makes sense that Noah is so scared of his father but also terrified of losing him. The only life Noah knows is all about rules and obeying orders and living by really old fashioned and strict ideas about manhood and love. I think ultimately what Noah does is so brave and true because he gives in to his heart's desire even despite his father.

but if I were Noah, I would be doing the exact same thing. I've always wanted to impress my father, to make him proud of me. And if my father ever expressed that he was proud of me, like Col. Mayer did at 5:45, I don't think I would be able to admit I was gay. His look was like, "Yes, that's MY son!"

I want more then anything to impress my father. That makes Noah stronger then me when it comes down to it. ^_^
