this film gets alot of bad rep it doesn't deserve although I didn't think Tom Cruise was right for the role and the nudity didn't improve the film at all in fact it lost some general public respect along the way

Now that i think about it, I think his wife was a part of the underground occult. Because the dream she had parallels with what happened to him that night at the mansion. Also at the end when Tom says something about them being together forever, she says Well lets not say forever. What??? that makes no sense. I think its because she is a part of that society! The movie was scarey!!

His wife has been down the rabbit hole before ("Alice"). She knows that world. The mask can be on a psychological level or a literal level. On the literal level it just means that Bill has been uncovered and they know what he has done.

On the psychological level, he has taken off his mask that he has been wearing in the relationship, ie a new sexual awakening that drives him to become hones with himself and his wife - "I will tell you everything".

@hmrubicon they'er based on the same thing, that song by Laura Branigan is about rape. There are a lot of secret societies running Hollywood which do these kind of things, it's why Hollywood is such a sick place. Unfortunately it's not easy to study these things. I recommend starting with a study of Bohemian Grove, the origins of the OTO, the Franklin Scandal b John DeCamp, etc. These things are going on in real life.

my favourite scene in the whole film is when he meets and has a chat with the hooker in her apartment that scene is breathtaking and why films are should be made and why Kubrick was the best there ever was,such a gorgeous scene.. Eye candy galore...

I still think the Shinning is his best tho...
