All you have to do is get a ticket when you go through the gate for that section and before the game they hand out the t shirts to the certain rows in that section. For sheer mass and clarity, one of my favorite student sections in the U,S, good work.
PSU has 90,000 students spread over 20+ campuses across Pennsylvania. PSU touches 1 in every 2 homes in the state and over half of the entire population is at its main campus...University Park in State College, PA GO PSU!!!!!
I would say PSU's student section ranks as the #1 in the nation right now......by far in the Big 10 for sure......I dont attend any SEC games but their students seem loud, too.......that 2005 PSU-OSU game was FREAKIN' LOUDER THAN HELL.
SEC has some good ones, but a few overrated ones as well (Auburn and Tennessee come to mind). Never been to Beaver, but it seems pretty impressive on TV. Top 5 I've been to are Virginia Tech, Clemson, LSU, Florida, and Florida State.

I am impressed by PSU's students, truly impressive how much they all rally behind a school activity, about how many students total are there that attend PSU?
For sheer mass and clarity, one of my favorite student sections in the U,S, good work.

PSU has 90,000 students spread over 20+ campuses across Pennsylvania. PSU touches 1 in every 2 homes in the state and over half of the entire population is at its main campus...University Park in State College, PA GO PSU!!!!!

I would say PSU's student section ranks as the #1 in the nation right now......by far in the Big 10 for sure......I dont attend any SEC games but their students seem loud, too.......that 2005 PSU-OSU game was FREAKIN' LOUDER THAN HELL.

SEC has some good ones, but a few overrated ones as well (Auburn and Tennessee come to mind). Never been to Beaver, but it seems pretty impressive on TV. Top 5 I've been to are Virginia Tech, Clemson, LSU, Florida, and Florida State.

@TheJacktheRipper I agree for the most part. I was always proud to be a PSU student and usually got emotional when I went to the games as a student. But there are a few PSU students who are a disgrace... throwing shit or trash taking their own team players just because they make bad plays or being unforgivably rude to the visiting team. Overall though -- yes, PSU has great fans.

@LionMCK well when ND played Penn State in south bend, I remember being heckled by a Penn State fan then being offered a brat the next second by that same fan. so yea I am looking forward to playing Penn State more often and Happy Vally looks like a blast.

@blakebgober yes I have been to a Wisconsin football game and jump around is the shit, but Penn State's student section was that loud the entire game. Don't give me wrong Wisconsin has a hell of a student section ( mostly arriving late, but it's Madison @11 AM so it's acceptable) I just think Penn State edges you out a little bit. It is still way better than the snooze fest that is Ann Arbor.

What has Iowa won? They've only kicked Penn State's ass 7 out of 9 times since '96. Go to Iowa's athletic page and look for yourself. If Penn State's in another league, then they don't choke @ Iowa last year and don't get blown out by USC.

I've met them both. Kevin Newsome is bigger, both in height and arms, and overall build. 10lbs isn't anything unless your a receiver.

Yeah, basically, and if you didn't know when it was maroon and had a pink S it was for Virginia Tech, one of the students who attended VT during that shooting also went to Penn State, and they commerorated a couple games for them, with the maroon and pink S. I thought that was the downright greatest act of sportsmanship and love in sports!

are you sure it stands for senior? i know its in the senior part of the student section...but the block S is one of the logos for Penn State. Not too long ago, the S zone was found behind the end zone. pretty sure it stands for STATE.

ya we were voted the best student section in the country by ESPN "The Magazine" and the most fun, and the 2nd hardest place to play in----we are also named "the greatest show in college football"-by ESPN gameday for three years in a row (including this year).....we lost 2 home games in the past 4 years and our coach is the winningest coach ever with the highest bowl winning percentage of any coach in college football

I hate it when they say they're God's team. They're not. If I remember correctly, Penn State ran the ball, and one of the linemen was thrown to the ground by to linemen from Notre Dame. The both of 'em then proceeded and grabbed his facemask and shook his head and hit it aganist the ground. Yeah...... That's God's team right there, besides what's the color of the sky? WE ARE PENN STATE!!!
