Let me just say that I saw the original Lynyrd Skynyrd line-up with Ronnie Van Zant perform Simple Man live in Nashville, Tn. in 1977. It still remains one of the most powerful song's ever recorded by any band. The song is still so relevant to this day, that I think it's fantastic that it's being covered. So I very much salute Brent Smith and the guys in Shinedown for having the balls the record an amazing cover of a great song!! Well done!!
