Part1:Why do i have the feeling that if violet hill wasn't expressing a truly atheistic character you would 'worship' it too?After all its style does not defer greatly from that of the other coldplay songs.If i'm right(and i probably am even though you might not admit it) think that music is not just music. It represents deaper things. It's the artist's way to express his thoughts and make people think and maybe guide them

Part2:And being an atheist Chris Martin cannot sit by and not express his thoughts on his songs. Consequently he is what he is and in reality you don't hate the song as a song,you hate chris' beliefs which makes you either a hypocrit or someone who hears music just for the music.

Awesome! Which one? Viva la Vida and Prospekt's March are more mainstream. Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y are good if you want the old Coldplay.

@calebstandfill Hmm, i can see where you're coming from but guitar isn't the only thing needed for a great song. I think the songs from Rush of Blood and X&Y were not only better had better vocals. Chris Martin's falsetto wasn't so confident on Parachutes.

@AJRead2 ya i know, i just like how relaxed and laid back parachutes was, x&y was a little bit fasted paced and they used a little more synth and different effects, i prefer the natrural sound tht parachutes had....the use of the acoustic guitar was genious in parachutes, especially in sparks and we never change, the chord choice was fabulous. spies is one of the best songs ever imo, they managed to get a very epic very powerful sound with very small amount of effects, just a ebow if im correct.
